I eased the car out of the parking lot and as I drove through the streets of Eden City, Nadine remained as silent and as quiet as a non-living thing beside me.

I tried not to think about her or even look at her but it was near impossible because I was hyper-aware of everything about her, of how she was breathing, of each swallows, each tiny and barely noticeable movements of hers.

This mate bond was so intense that I knew I’d lose my mind soon if something isn’t done.
