Adeline raised her hand, wanting to slap the smile from Mira's face, but the latter continued to beam the same smile. Mira felt bad for Stefano that his love for his wife was questioned. It was true that he kissed Mira a few times and spent a lot of time with her, but Mira didn't feel a thing about it. Stefano did it to deceive those around him.

"What are you going to do now?" Mira asked Adeline. "Wanting to kill me?"

"You..." Adeline gritted her teeth.

Mira sat down on the floor. She only spent a few months with Cohen before she ended up dead, and yet she never doubted his love. Mira knew Cohen wouldn't doubt her love for him either. Both of them had a firm foundation in their relationship, even though they didn't know much about each other.

But Mira felt bad for Adelin

He trusted her even though he only met her once in the diner. For years, General Sylas used the information that Mira gave to him and dismantled countless Knights of Death's operations in all the realms. He managed to speed up his hunting and investigation with the same information, but it only covered forty percent of the dark organization's size. Without Mira's report, the investigation would have dragged on, and Sylas would continue hunting down only small groups of the Knights of Death. Now, he couldn't let down her ambition to get rid of the Knights of Death. "Lord Stefano, how do you want to proceed?" Sylas asked. "Trinity wasn't playing around when she called it the Castle of Darkness," Stefano said, looking at the dark-looking castle far ahead of them. "I'm going ahead to meet her. You and your team eliminate every single creature in the castle."

When Stefano pulled out a tiny life essence from Mira when she was living as Adeline, he planted a small part of his consciousness in her mind as a precaution. Whatever she experienced and witnessed, he would feel the same. If he didn't do that, he would never find her when she went missing from his castle. He had to do countermeasures just in case things didn't go as planned. And it really didn't go as planned. Stefano planned to keep Mira by his side until the eclipse had passed. Then, he thought he would return her to her family while he reconciled with Adeline. But everything went down the drain when Clavier forced Mira to remember her memories that the demon wolf and Stefano locked away. The majority of Mira's memories were locked by her demon wolf. Stefano only locked away those that emerged from time to time. He never thought the demon wolf would deceive him to that extent.

Mira spat out a mouthful of blood after receiving endless blows from Alistair, who used her to vent out his anger. The dining hall was turned upside down. Mira leaned against the severely damaged wall and laughed as she wiped the blood from her mouth."You know, this isn't my first rodeo getting beaten up," Mira said in amusement.Alistair's beating was nothing compared to what Damien did to her for fourteen years of her life since the moment she was born. Apparently, Alistair was mad that Mira's report had something to do with Trinity's Castle of Darkness. He commanded dozens of orders to his servants to find Trinity. Without Trinity and her Castle of Darkness, everything returned to square one."Now they cut off your magic supply. How do you think this domain will survive?" Mira asked.

Cohen got up from his bed, unable to sleep despite it already been eighteen hours since he had any sleep. It was eighteen hours since the Angel of Death abducted Mira in front of his eyes. He couldn’t rest easy knowing that the time wasn’t on their side. The eclipse would happen no matter what they did. The only thing they could do was stop the ritual. He couldn’t accept the fact someone else would lay their hands on his mate.He walked out of the patio and saw the countless number of tents set up to accommodate the large army of Stefano. Cohen looked at them and spotted Stefano was sitting by a bonfire on his own. The Daemon High Lord was staring at the fire as if it was the most interesting thing in the world. Cohen ignored him, knowing that his anger would resurface if he confronted the daemon alone.Suddenly, Cohen’s mating bond aler

Trinity slammed the door open as she stumbled in. Fresh wounds covered her entire body, and her black dress was tattered. When she escaped from the timeline where her Castle of Darkness was, she was hit by multiple offensive spells that Stefano put around the land. “It’s her,” Trinity said while pointing to Mira, who was exhausted from fighting her demon wolf. “Stefano planted his consciousness in her.” Alistair grabbed Mira and looked into her eyes. Then, he saw Stefano’s reflection, staring at a mirror as if he wanted Alistair to know the truth. Alistair smiled before he pressed his palm against Mira’s forehead. His palm glowed in red before Mira struggled in his grip. He killed Stefano’s consciousness inside her mind; although he knew the process was excruciating, the pain wouldn’t kill the demon wolf’s host easily. Mira screamed in pain as Alistair contin

The attack against the Southern Werewolves Pack was endless. Cohen lost track of the time of the battle. He didn’t know how long had passed since the battle started and how many of his comrades were wounded and dead. Cohen refused to think about the death toll he might receive at the end of the battle. The Knights of Death might attack in a small number compared to his pack and allies, but they attacked fearlessly and endlessly, making it seemed they outnumbered their opponent. His enemy kept pouring through the Southern border just like Liam had predicted. As everyone was exhausted and injured, Cohen had to think of another way to keep the enemy away from reaching the pack mansion. The pack mansion was the heart of a pack during the battle because that was where the non-combatants took shelter, and his wounded comrades received medical aid."Liam, fall b

His hand grabbed the head and separated the head from the body. Vincent panted heavily after forcing himself to return to his human form. Sweats rolled down his naked body. One leg was pressing the dead commander’s corpse to the ground while his right hand held the head. Just as he expected, the Commander’s human appearance reverted to the original form. The original Knights of Death were just an army of walking skeletons. Their skeletons were wrapped with magic that made them able to move around and imitate the actions of a living person. After they disobeyed and left the Moon Goddess’ Kingdom, they went to the mortal world with the hope of freeing their Angel of Death. They began to work closely with humans while hiding their true appearance. Soon enough, they could take the appearance of the human of their choices. Cohen slumped against a tree as he had no more energy to stand on his feet. The battle lasted for an entire day, making Cohen lose one precious day to find Mira. He thought he could end the battle earlier, but it was dragged on as the enemy began to increase their groups. He watched as the non-combatant pack members left the pack mansion after the perimeter was ensured safe from the enemy. The women and children began to hand out meals and drinks to everyone to help replenish their energy after fighting for a whole twenty-four hours.Liam already ordered out several groups to retrieve those who were still on the battlefield. One by one, the corpse in a body bag was brought out of the woods. Cohen couldn’t help but clench his fists. He had lost a great number of Enforcers to defend their families and friends.&

Two hours into the celebration, everyone was having a good time. Mira spotted Amanda stealing glances at Vincent a few times. She realized the former couple had yet to reconcile. Now and then, they would steal glances at each other. Vincent was busy talking and laughing to some single female pack members. He looked like he was having a good time while Amanda looked like she was about to commit homicide.“Oh, get over it!” Mira groaned as she was annoyed by Amanda’s stealing glances. “Just go there and talk to him.”“He hates my guts. I swear it; he hates me,” Amanda said, trying hard not to look at Vincent.“Can I steal her for a moment?” Cohen asked Amanda.“Sure, Mister Happily Ever After,” Amanda replie

Mira stood by the full-length mirror, looking at her own reflection as she continued to fix her hair. It had been an hour since she stood there, fixing whatever she felt needed some fixing. Tonight was Cohen’s thirty-fifth birthday celebration. He was officially old and grumpy at everyone who agreed to do the celebration. He told them that he didn’t need to be reminded that he was an older man now, but everyone insisted that he would have a good time during the celebration.Believe it or not, Mira was intended to make it a good time for her mate. He had been working hard lately as he was trying to get many things done and catch up with Liam’s work during Cohen’s nine months of absence. He worked until late hours, and Mira began to worry that he might throw himself into work again, but he promised her that this would be temporary. Once he got the hang of everything again, his schedul

A week had passed since the war. After that, Cohen was busy visiting families of those who lost their sons and daughters during the two battles. She went there so that Stefano could check the extent of her demon wolf’s transformation and see if she could stay in the demon wolf’s form longer without losing control. Dalton, Karmille, and the first battalion returned to the Council’s land. Dalton launched an investigation against everyone in the Council after receiving dozens of reports from Clavier about the Werewolf’s Council’s dark secrets. After spending a week in Stefano’s realm, Mira returned to Cohen’s arms. It had been three days since she returned. Cohen had been keeping Mira to himself first. Everyone stopped as if the time had stopped ticking and just focused on the sound of the cracking on the stone table. At the same time, Amanda successfully dispelled the dome that covered the stone table and the people who were meant to be the sacrifices. The packs began to pull those people out of the danger zone as they didn’t know what would happen when Mira was fully shifted into her demon wolf.Clavier was crouching next to Stefano, trying to heal the High Lord, stabbed with his own spear. But their eyes focused at the stone table. Cohen couldn’t take his eyes off Mira as she shifted into a demon wolf. The moment the shifting was completed, the battlefield fell into a deep silence. The first time Cohen saw Mira’s demon wolf was when Amanda sent him to the back of her mind—to the realm of the demon wolf. He never thought the beast could be that magnificent. The demon wolf’

In her demon wolf’s realm, Mira was forced to exit to another part of its realm. There, she saw the same gates that Amanda put up to control Mira’s bad memories from affecting her deeply. Now, the gates were opened. She wondered what would happen if she walked past the broken gate. Her demon wolf was too busy causing suffering to others. Mira knew she had to find a way to stop her demon wolf from causing more trouble. She had to find a way to make her demon wolf acknowledge Cohen as the Alpha and answer only to him.If she could find an answer, it should be where it all began for her. The opened gates were where it began for her. Cohen walked through those gates when he came to save her from her demon wolf nine months ago. She knew the memories that were hiding beyond the gates, and for years, she chose to ignore those memories. Mira chose not to confront her painful past because she thought sh

Stefano ran towards Alistair as his spear materialized in his hands. He knew his father’s death had something to do with Alistair.
