A day passed since his return to the pack mansion. He spent the day discussing and thinking about where the robbers might have taken Mira’s body. Cohen was tired. He sat in the bedroom of his lake house, holding a photo of Mira.

“Where are you, baby?” he asked.

His heart ached again. No matter how much he tried to forget the day her life was taken, he would still remember it. He tried to drink alcohol to keep the memory away but when he was sober, the memory came back. He tried to do a lot of work to keep his mind busy. But at the moment his mind stopped being busy, he thought of her.

Cohen got up from the bed and put her picture inside his jacket pocket before he walked out. When he was out there, he made a connection with the beggars and the homeless people in the town where he would

The house engulfed in flame, taking Patricia along. Cohen rushed into the house and almost got himself killed when the ceiling began to collapse. He searched around, looking for Patricia. The impact of the explosion was close to her position which might have killed her. But Cohen doubted she would go down that easy. Since the beginning, he knew something was different with Patricia. She had the scent of a human probably for carrying another child inside of her but she also had another scent. He coughed as the thick smoke began to take a toll on his lungs. Then, he spotted Patricia surrounded by a large red shield. She was holding onto her left hand that was bleeding. She was panting heavily. Cohen followed the drop of her blood on the floor. There was a strange mark on the floor where she was standing. The mark was created with her blood.Ignoring the fac

By the time they reached the pack mansion, Liam had just finished briefing the Special Unit which would be tasked in capturing Cohen dead or alive before more collateral damage happened. Liam knew the truth about Cohen’s nine months out there. If it wasn’t because of Amanda erasing the memories of the victims, the authority would have started to hunt him down.Because of that, Liam put a designated unit of Enforcers to capture Cohen before he did something that might make him regret his life once again.“How did he lose control?” Liam asked.“It might be something he found in the basement of my house,” Patricia answered instead.Liam raised an eyebrow by the sudden intervention of an outsider inside his pack. Then, he chose to ig

Liam watched as Cohen roared in the basement. He tried to break the enchanted chains to no ends. He growled and clawed the floor. The entire room was specially built by Liam as he knew one day Cohen would come back. An Alpha who had just lost his mate would take a very long time to calm their mind. From Amanda’s daily report, Liam knew Cohen was still not in control of his own mind. That drove Liam to build the room while Amanda enchanted it. The walls were engraved with thousands of spells to strengthen it.“It’s not going to calm him,” Liam said, looking through the glass wall.Amanda nodded in agreement. “Then, there is one thing left to do.”“I would go against it but it seems we have no other choice.”The white witch s

Amanda couldn’t believe her eyes as she looked at the woman standing before her. It was definitely Mira but her eyes were telling Amanda that she wasn’t the Mira that she knew. The aura coming from this Mira was different. Amanda couldn’t feel any demon wolf’s energy from her indicating the woman wasn’t a demon wolf.“Huh, this is the white witch that Mother spoke of?” Mira said with utter disgust.“Mother?” Amanda questioned. Then, her eyes widened with realization. The marking on the woman’s body enough to confirm Amanda about the Mother they spoke of. There was no doubt that these two were working for Trinity. But it still didn’t make sense to A

“Wait, hold on a second,” Patricia said. “You wanted me to lift the Death Kiss curse from Cohen?”Amanda nodded. Cohen had been moved to his bedroom and was still in a coma to preserve whatever was left of his life. Death Kiss was one of forbidden dark magic and usually it was cast by a blood sorceress. The price of one usage was expensive. The greater the price, the greater the effect. Since the Death Kiss curse only affected Cohen alone, it could mean Jane purposely used it on him only while leaving the others unaffected. It prolonged Cohen’s death as well. That made Amanda think that Jane didn’t want to kill Cohen quickly. She wanted him to suffer for some unknown reasons.“Look, I know I’m a blood sorceress but I barely know anything about dark magic,” Patricia said. “I was born and raised in

Liam stopped the car behind an abandoned cement factory just outside the territory. Patricia was sitting at the front passenger side while Amanda sat at the back passenger. All three of them were looking at the cars arriving and leaving. The abandoned cement factory had been renovated recently into a nightclub. Liam had been keeping his eyes and ears about the place as it became a hotspot for vampires. Now, he realized the threat had grown bigger.“Are you sure this person is in there?” Liam asked again. He heard her right in the pack mansion. He had to make sure about it again. He had a few Enforcers waiting in the woods but Liam knew he couldn’t risk it further if he decided to barge in without proper plan. But then, he couldn’t risk Cohen’s life. The former Alpha was on a

Cohen went missing for the next few days after the whole ordeal. Amanda still kept Jane’s real appearance secret from him. Only Liam and Brandon knew the truth. They had to do some tempering with the CCTV inside the office. They kept the original footage hidden inside Liam’s personal room. They discussed it a few times but had no ideas where they should start looking for Jane.Patricia left with Lexi as part of the agreement. Although it seemed unfair, Patricia seemed like she was actually agreeing to be part of Lexi’s coven. Another part of the agreement, Patricia had to marry a man who was born as one of two last blood sorcerers.Cohen was sitting in the middle of a flower field that looked almost like the one where Mira was living in the Unknown. Deep inside his heart, he was yearning to be with her again. Now, she couldn’t proc

“What do you mean he’s not from this world?” Liam questioned. In the nine months of his absence in the pack, Cohen had been traveling around. At first, he was solely focusing on gaining control of his own mind after losing Mira in the battle. Then, he began to hear a series of mysterious sightings of bright circles that appeared and disappeared within seconds. He thought maybe it was just a hoax created by these paranormal investigators in the webs. But, his suspicion grew stronger and he knew he could no longer ignore it. Hundreds, maybe thousands, of videos of the sightings were uploaded into the dark web. Cohen began his investigation by visiting as much location of where the sightings happened. It didn’t take long when he found one similarity of all the locations. They were all marked with burnts signs on the ground where the b

Two hours into the celebration, everyone was having a good time. Mira spotted Amanda stealing glances at Vincent a few times. She realized the former couple had yet to reconcile. Now and then, they would steal glances at each other. Vincent was busy talking and laughing to some single female pack members. He looked like he was having a good time while Amanda looked like she was about to commit homicide.“Oh, get over it!” Mira groaned as she was annoyed by Amanda’s stealing glances. “Just go there and talk to him.”“He hates my guts. I swear it; he hates me,” Amanda said, trying hard not to look at Vincent.“Can I steal her for a moment?” Cohen asked Amanda.“Sure, Mister Happily Ever After,” Amanda replie

Mira stood by the full-length mirror, looking at her own reflection as she continued to fix her hair. It had been an hour since she stood there, fixing whatever she felt needed some fixing. Tonight was Cohen’s thirty-fifth birthday celebration. He was officially old and grumpy at everyone who agreed to do the celebration. He told them that he didn’t need to be reminded that he was an older man now, but everyone insisted that he would have a good time during the celebration.Believe it or not, Mira was intended to make it a good time for her mate. He had been working hard lately as he was trying to get many things done and catch up with Liam’s work during Cohen’s nine months of absence. He worked until late hours, and Mira began to worry that he might throw himself into work again, but he promised her that this would be temporary. Once he got the hang of everything again, his schedul

A week had passed since the war. After that, Cohen was busy visiting families of those who lost their sons and daughters during the two battles. Then, Mira had to return to Stefano’s realm with Clavier, Vito, and the army. She went there so that Stefano could check the extent of her demon wolf’s transformation and see if she could stay in the demon wolf’s form longer without losing control. Dalton, Karmille, and the first battalion returned to the Council’s land. Dalton launched an investigation against everyone in the Council after receiving dozens of reports from Clavier about the Werewolf’s Council’s dark secrets. After spending a week in Stefano’s realm, Mira returned to Cohen’s arms. It had been three days since she returned. Cohen had been keeping Mira to himself first. She hadn’t got the chance to meet his parents again because obviously, the Alpha nee

Everyone stopped as if the time had stopped ticking and just focused on the sound of the cracking on the stone table. At the same time, Amanda successfully dispelled the dome that covered the stone table and the people who were meant to be the sacrifices. The packs began to pull those people out of the danger zone as they didn’t know what would happen when Mira was fully shifted into her demon wolf.Clavier was crouching next to Stefano, trying to heal the High Lord, stabbed with his own spear. But their eyes focused at the stone table. Cohen couldn’t take his eyes off Mira as she shifted into a demon wolf. The moment the shifting was completed, the battlefield fell into a deep silence. The first time Cohen saw Mira’s demon wolf was when Amanda sent him to the back of her mind—to the realm of the demon wolf. He never thought the beast could be that magnificent. The demon wolf’

In her demon wolf’s realm, Mira was forced to exit to another part of its realm. There, she saw the same gates that Amanda put up to control Mira’s bad memories from affecting her deeply. Now, the gates were opened. She wondered what would happen if she walked past the broken gate. Her demon wolf was too busy causing suffering to others. Mira knew she had to find a way to stop her demon wolf from causing more trouble. She had to find a way to make her demon wolf acknowledge Cohen as the Alpha and answer only to him.If she could find an answer, it should be where it all began for her. The opened gates were where it began for her. Cohen walked through those gates when he came to save her from her demon wolf nine months ago. She knew the memories that were hiding beyond the gates, and for years, she chose to ignore those memories. Mira chose not to confront her painful past because she thought sh

Their mouths continued to the incantation that was spoken by Mira’s demon wolf. Trinity created a smaller dome covering the stone table and the sacrifices. The Knights of Death began to form protective lines around the dome, protecting the ritual with their lives. They didn’t care about their lives as

Cohen looked out the window of his office and noticed the sky was changing color slowly. In a few minutes, the sun would start to take over the moon slowly. He didn’t want to be late this time, but he had no clues about finding her.For the first time, Cohen felt useless. All those years and knowledge couldn’t help him find the one person he needed to find. The office door was slammed open, and Liam walked in as he breathed heavily.
