Chapter 42
After their picnic by the meadow, Stefano walked Adeline back to the castle, occasionally stopped along the way to admire the wildlife they passed by. He could have just teleported her back, but he wanted her to enjoy the serenity of the forest because once they arrived home, Adeline wouldn’t be able to enjoy this unless he came along. With so much going on lately, Stefano didn’t want her to wander around unguarded. He would command his entire army to guard her if he had to.
About half of their journey, his walk came to a halt. Stefano reached for his wife’s hand and pulled her close to his body. He felt someone was watching them and he hated it when someone invaded his privacy.
