Chapter 32

Emma went into the kitchen to assist Ma'am Maria because the mornings were always too busy for her in the kitchen and she always needed assistance. When she got there, she met the kitchen empty. At first she was surprised but decided to start attending to the what needs to be done awaiting her arrival. However, after waiting for what seems like eternity, the door opened and Sarah walked in.

"Did Ma'am Maria tell you she'll be leaving early?" Emma asked Sarah. "No, isn't she here too?"

Emma and Sarah exchanged worried glances, their brows furrowed with concern. Something felt off, and they couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Ma'am Maria's absence than met the eye. They met up with Mitchell, who, too, sensed that something was amiss.

Unable to bear the uncertainty any longer, they made their way to Mr Robert's office. As they knocked on the door, a slight unease washed over them. They entered cautiously, their eyes scanning the room for any signs of Ma'am Maria.
