In the next hours that followed, the president of the country himself, declared a state of emergency until the twins were found. Their pictures and that of Marla circulated all over the internet and across every major news outlet.

The police, army, navy and air force were all on high alert and in search of the children. The international borders by land and sea were all mounted by several military checkpoints. Interstate borders were also closed and a tight stop and search order was given along the borders.

All flights were canceled and international airways were closed. It was as if the grandchildren of the president himself were the ones that were kidnapped
