CHAPTER 78: PORTIA’S DEMISE

The maids were so busy venting that they didn't see Rati, who was supposed to be sleeping, was listening in the corner. She would have fainted for the second time if it hadn't been for her personal maid's tight grip.

She was crying, and all she could think of was how terribly she had mistreated Helen.

Helen was a girl with her own aspirations, yet she was quite filial and never eager for many things. Nonetheless, Portia blinded her and caused her to abandon the child she had raised for almost two decades.

Although Helen wasn't her real kid, she had never done anything wrong, and according to the staff, Portia wasn't as pious as she made herself out to be.

"What if I did all of those things? Who are you to pass judgment on me? This house belongs to me because I am the missy. You should all pay attention to what I say. How dare you interrogate me?"
