The Nomination

Jason looked at Shawn levelly in the eyes as the door to the office opened again.

Natasha North, looking clueless and confused, walked into the office.

"Jason?" Natasha called as she looked around to see everyone in the family in the room.

"Yes, mom, good morning; please come; have your seat," Jason said, stepping around Shawn to show his mom where to sit.

"Is this some sort of family meeting? Why is your mom here?" Terry North asked.

"All that's happening right now must be a joke, right?" Shawn asked as he laughed.

"I'm afraid it's not; let's all have our seats, and we can get right to it," Jason told them all as they had their seats.

Reluctantly, they all had their seats, and their attention turned to Jason as they waited for him to speak.

"Okay, so, first of all, thank you all for coming here." Jason said, pausing for a minute before continuing.

"I know how this all looks, but I assure you, you're going to want to hear what I have to say," Jason stated.

"I hope I do," Shawn grunted
