RIRI

"Because you were chosen," I told her.

The furrowing of her brows revealed the depth of her inner turmoil. It was as if her mind was a whirlpool of thoughts, desperately trying to make sense of the information at hand. Her face betrayed the myriad of questions and concerns that were swirling within her.

Lost in contemplation, her brown eyes would deepen in hue whenever she concentrated on something, drawing in anyone who happened to be observing her. The intense gaze she projected was captivating, and I wondered if she was even aware of it. Perhaps no one had ever mentioned it to her before.

When I was initially tasked with protecting this woman, I expected it to be a difficult assignment. However, I was proven wrong. Her gentle nature, compassion, and understanding made everything seem effortless. As I spent more time with her, I realized that she was no longer just a person under my protection but someone I would willingly give my life to defend. In fact, she was the most important member of the pack.

"Chosen for what? That sounds very...odd."

"I mean, chosen in the sense that I've selected you to know who I truly am. It's time for me to reveal myself to you," I explained with a cheerful tone, wrapping my arms around her in a warm embrace. "I'm overjoyed that I can finally be my authentic self without any fear of rejection from those around me," I continued with passion. The truth was, I wasn't entirely confident that she would accept me, and I had feared her potential hatred towards me. "You know, it's not easy to find people who you can confide in and share your secrets with," I added. While I did feel guilty for not disclosing everything to her, I was genuinely happy that she had accepted me for who I am.

When the time is right, she will know everything, but for now, we must proceed with caution. We can't afford to startle her, as sensitive and potentially upsetting information could cause her distress.

"Even if you were to transform into a dragon, you'd still be my friend, Riabhel," she said with a playful tone, the smile on her face never wavered.

"You're amazing, An."

.

.

And with that, Anisha had transformed into a curious little mouse, eager to learn and explore the entire pack. She fired off question after question, never running out of them.

We departed from my parent's house around noon, but before stepping outside, I offered her a comfortable new outfit - a red t-shirt and jeans paired with white sneakers.

As we walked, I noticed that we had attracted some curious eyes. It was hardly surprising; she was like an angel in appearance, radiating a genuine sense of grace and loveliness. Her presence seemed to draw the admiring gazes of men around us. Moreover, people were naturally drawn to her because of her sweetness. She had a way of making those around her feel valued and appreciated, and many who interacted with her would attest to that fact.

However, some men misinterpreted her kindness as an expression of romantic interest, which presented a challenge for me. It was a tough job deflecting the advances of potential suitors in the past. I couldn't help but let out a deep sigh.

I had already shared with her the fundamental information about our kind - the Creekpine Pack. I explained how we lived in a pack and were led by a dominant pair of Alphas. I also told her about our distinctive appearance, with a large, sturdy body, long snout, and sharp teeth when we transformed. Although she had yet to see one of us in our transformed state, I could sense her eagerness. Her face displayed a range of expressions, from astonishment, excitement, and curiosity, to wonderment.

Despite her eagerness, her kindness and compassion enabled her to approach everything with care. Some of her questions had been answered, but there were others that I deliberately avoided.

"I forgot to message my parents, Ri. I need to let them know my location; they'll worry if they don't hear from me for a day," I said.

"Sure thing, An. Just send them a text," I replied as I spotted the Creekpine lair up ahead. "But first, let me show you something. See that place?" I pointed it out to her.

"You mean that house? If you can even call it a house. It's massive," she exclaimed in amazement as we approached it.

"Exactly. We call it the Creekpine lair, but it's much more than just a lair. It's where we gather and socialize as a pack during gatherings," I explained. "I want to show you the showroom. It's dedicated to showcasing the history of our pack, and it could give you some insight into the fascinating world of werewolves."

She listened intently, nodding her head as I spoke. Seeing her interest made me smile.

"I agree, it's truly fascinating," she said in a voice that I wasn't sure was meant for me to hear, as her gaze roamed over the impressive structure of the building.

I could understand her reaction as the building's architectural style itself was wondrous. Its intricate design made the place the most recognizable building in the Pack area.

As we entered the building, her head didn't stop turning as she took in everything around her. It was as if she was drinking in all of the sights and information at once.

"Wow, this place is beautiful, Ri," she exclaimed with pleasure.

Before I could reply, another voice chimed in.

"I'm glad you like the place."

I turned to face the voice, recognizing it immediately. My body involuntarily leaned forward in a gesture of submission.

"Hello there again," Anisha's melodic voice greeted him.

I was surprised to see him, but I knew what he wanted.

"Ahm, An, I left my phone. Silly me," I groaned, sounding disgruntled. "Can I get it? And don't worry, I'll send a message to your parents so they won't be concerned. I'll let them know that you'll call them soon. I'll be back," I said as I walked towards the door, the corner of my mouth curving up in a knowing smile.

Her eyes widened with silent panic. "You're leaving me with him?" she asked, her voice tinged with wariness.

She had her back turned to him, and I could see the nervousness and disbelief on her face as I left her alone with him.

"He knows this place better than I do, An," I reassured her with a wink. "You can ask him anything you want."

ANISHA

I couldn't believe her! She left me with him!

Riri, you will not be able to sleep tonight without my scolding. I will ensure that you do not get away with it.

"Do you still want to look around?" his deep voice asked.

"Ye—yes! Of course!" I widened my smile, hoping that he wouldn't notice I was a bit skittish.

He was staring...just like this morning.

But he wasn't smiling.

"This way," he gestured for me to walk before him, and I did.

His imposing presence loomed over me, unnerving me as he stood uncomfortably close. His warmth seemed to envelop me entirely, leaving me feeling tense and flustered. I couldn't help the fluttering in my stomach.

As we advanced down the hallway, two paths emerged, each leading to unknown rooms. I realized that I wasn't the one who should be leading the way. He was familiar with the place and should take the lead.

"Which direction, by the way?" I strained my neck over my shoulder to see his face, but I gasped when my face directly made contact with his chest. "I'm sorry." I quickly said.

I noticed him inhaling the air like he was tasting it, followed by a deep vibration rolling from his chest. And before I could step back to put that needed distance between our bodies, my breath was stolen when I felt his strong arms around my waist and I was not on the ground anymore, but in his arms, being held tight against him.

My entire body was paralyzed with fear, but somewhere, somewhere I couldn't nail down, excitement danced inside me, tugging on me like a leech. My skin tingled and my heart hammered against my ribcage. The pleasant sensation of being held in his arms was enough to give me goosebumps. I was so lost in that feeling that I couldn't push him away. I felt his ripped muscles against my body. Warm and hard. I couldn't think straight or move. I could feel his strength holding me in place.

"You smell heaven," his breathy moan made him sound like a crazy man in need. He licked the juncture of my neck and shoulder and I shuddered. Feelings I had never felt before struck me, centering on my core. That heated pressure left me wanting something novel for me. I was wet. He growled. "Just damn good." He dragged another intake of breath from the back of my ear, sending a delicious shiver down to my feet.

"Kallum," I gasped.

He flinched.

"My name is Kazimir."

ANISHA"My name is Kazimir."I gasped as I gazed deeply into his eyes. It felt as if he could see right through my soul with the intensity of his stare. My heart raced and my stomach churned. Pushing against his chest, I stepped out of his arms, and he let me go."You've met my brother, but I haven't smelt his scent on you." He said, watching me intently as I took a few steps away from him."You look very similar to each other," I whispered. I whispered. If he hadn't introduced himself, I would have thought he was the same person I met this morning. As I eyed him, I noticed a sterner demeanor and a colder expression, but the resemblance was still uncanny. What should I have expected from identical twins? I groaned internally, placing the blame on Riri. She had failed to mention that they were the Frodhart twins, the Alphas who ruled the pack. She only told me that the pack was led by twin Alphas, without revealing that I had already met one of them. If she had, I would have realized t

ANISHAKallum strode toward us. His eyes were drinking me in. I couldn't help but feel like I was under a microscope. I felt myself blush.Craning my neck to see his face, he stopped in front of me and leaned down, his face mere inches away."You have been sampled. I wondered if he had a taste." He said, his voice low and smooth. His breath was fanning my face, minty and fresh. I couldn't help but think he smelt good. I shook my head internally."Kallum," Kazimir breathed. There was a warning in his tone."Don't use that tone on me, brother. I've been controlling myself and yesterday was not an exemption but you," he spat exasperatedly, "not even an hour, yet you already had your scent all over her." He said accusingly.Shaking my head, confused, I stepped in. "Uhm, Kallum, he...he just greeted me with a hug," I said, feeling guilty remembering that it wasn't just a hug. It was more intimate. But his eyes said it all. I shuddered. Was he jealous? Was this a thing in this pack? I wonde

KALLUMI noticed her blush but quickly averted my gaze from her body. I recalled the water incident that happened a week ago, and I knew she remembered it too. Although, to me, nothing is sexier than seeing my mate blush.Going a week without seeing her was excruciatingly painful for both me and my wolf, as well as for my brother and his wolf. We were obliged to attend the Pack Union Conference (PUC), where Alphas and High Councils from the governing association were in attendance. However, we had to be very discreet during our stay, since matters concerning the woman in front of me had not yet been discussed." I want another thing, though," I said, trying to control myself from grabbing her and marking that smooth skin on her neck. I was like a newly released mental who needed his dose of maintenance. She wasn't doing anything yet, but I was ready to explode if I couldn't touch her."What is it? It's late." She said, putting the glass in the sink and facing me. She walked towards me

KAZIMIRI watched her sleep. The dim light illuminated her sleeping form, peaceful and angelic. She lay under the blanket, wearing one of my shirts after I had accidentally ruined her pajamas. I couldn't help but smirk. I remember how responsive she was, and I liked it that way.My brother and I were able to hold back ourselves and, instead, found pleasure in her pleasure. Getting a sample of her taste was enough for us...for now."Do you want to sleep next to her?" Kallum asked, strolling out of the bathroom."I don't think you're sleeping next to her either," I whispered softly, though I doubted she would wake up from exhaustion.I heard him groan in protest."I think I want to sleep on the bed with her," he said, starting to climb on the bed. But I quickly grabbed his shirt before he could put any weight on the bed and cause it to creak."Nay. Nay. Not tonight, brother." I said firmly. "Not happening.""Come on," he groaned in a hushed voice when I let go of his shirt, frustrated.

ANISHA"So," I said, pushing the plate away and wiping the corner of my mouth. I turned to the two good-looking Alphas who were watching me swallow every food like I was some sort of food entertainment. I internally shook my head, realizing that my hunger had overridden the discomfort their eyes gave me."Um, last night," I cleared my throat, feeling nervous despite my attempts to deny it. "I...actually, I couldn't explain it. Am I your mate?" I blurted the question out, unable to contain my curiosity any longer.I heard them chuckle loudly. They both looked at each other as if they were communicating. Their eyes were glowing and flashing; they appeared to be focusing on something beyond our physical surroundings. And I remembered what Riri had told me about.I gave them the eye. "Hello, I'm right here, and I want to hear it too, you know," I said with an innocent smile. "I've heard that wolves can communicate through Mindlinking, but it's not appropriate to use it when I'm in front o

ANISHAThere they had it, putting their wolf thing in the open. I couldn't help but feel embarrassed when I saw them picking up on my arousal in the air. They could smell me? Why was I still surprised by their ability to detect it? Their predatory eyes intensified. I quickly crossed my legs as if to hide the scent that only they could smell. The truth was I had no idea what to think. They said it sensually like they liked the scent in the air. However, the pain and distressed expressions on their faces suggested otherwise."What should I do?" I asked, feeling vulnerable in their presence.Kallum's gaze met mine, his eyes now back to their clouded brownish-green eyes. He stood up slowly but did not move any closer. He seemed to gain a few more inches taller by the way he stood his ground. Kazimir's gaze remained fixed on me, his eyes never leaving mine and staying dark as coal, his breath heaving."Like last night, your scent can drive our wolves crazy. We want nothing more but to devo

ANISHAStanding in front of the house once again, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nervousness creeping in. I had come here to speak with them. Earlier in the day, Riri and I had discussed the situation, but something was still persistently bugging me, and only they could provide answers. As I raised my hand to knock on the door, it swung open. A middle-aged woman, in her late forties, welcomed me. Her skin was tanned, which suggested that she may have spent time outdoors. I considered this woman a Were as well."What do we have here? Are you looking for the Alphas?" she asked, her eyes gleaming with a genuine smile."Are they home?" I asked with a timid smile. She shook her head lightly. "They're probably at the office downtown. Kallum must be at the construction site overseeing the building projects, while Kazimir might be at the office." Her forehead creased as she asked, "I didn't get your name, honey.""I'm Anisha," I replied."That's a beautiful name. It means 'eternal flame'

"What's happening?" I asked Riri as I watched people heading towards the Creekpine lair."In our pack, the Luna is introduced through a formal ritual conducted by the elders. As the former Alpha and his wife are no longer present, the Alphas will welcome you to the pack," she explained."I'm not ready for that, Riri. Why didn't you tell me?" I replied, feeling frustrated."Oh, didn't I?" she responded with feigned innocence, making me want to roll my eyes up to the ceiling. "It must have slipped my mind. Will you still forgive me?" She gave me doe eyes and asked the question in her humorous way."I so dislike you right now, Ri." I sighed, pretending to be annoyed, but the truth was my heart was heaving nervously. I would see them again."I love you too, you know." She winked and danced her eyebrows as she spoke. I narrowed my eyes, and she laughed. "Come on, An. The induction won't be that scary. Actually, the Alphas had planned to do the ceremony next week, but news of Luna's arrival

The sensation of him stretching me as he pulled out, only to push back in again swiftly, had my senses reeling with the intensity of it all. "I can't get enough of you, mate. I just can't," he murmured as he thrust and I felt even more driven and pleased. My mouth found its way back to Kallum's length and enclosed my lips around him once again. The taste of him, the sounds of his hisses and grunts as I did him, were like music to my ears. "You're getting so much better each time, Muffin," Kallum's voice reached me. I beamed internally. I wanted to please them so much. "You learn so fast." The sensations intensified as Kazimir's movement went harder and faster. "So wet. NARRATOR'S POV In the heart of the packhouse, our living room was a hub of activity. Family and friends had gathered for a casual afternoon get-together. Hazel and James with their daughter Aryana, were present too. I felt so happy and glowing now in my fifth month of pregnancy. I felt the love around me. I recalled the day we discovered we were carrying twins. My mates were over the moon. They punched the air and exchanged high-fives, so elated. The joy that had radiated from them was so infectious they both screamed the news through the entire pack link. Having twins was something they had always hoped for, a wish that ran deep within their blood. It was a trait that seemed to be woven into the fabric of our pack's lineage. My attention was drawn to my daughter who was now a bubbly ball of energy at her young age. Her excitement was plain to see as she dashed around, her laughter trailing behind her like a melodic song as she played with Aryana and Tiana. As I settled comf

ANISHA"Are you sure about this?" I asked Emmett, my mind processing the weight of the news he had just shared. We were all gathered in the packhouse, the atmosphere heavy with apprehension. The news they brought home was something that left me torn, a piece of news that I couldn't quite decide how to feel about. As I looked around the room, the emotions of those around me seemed to mirror my own inner turmoil. My mother, Annora, sat beside me, her expression unreadable. Beside her, Lewis mirrored her silence. My mates' brows deepened in concentration. "Why would Lysandros do that?""No one really knows," Emmett replied. "But he left a message for you.""For me?" "He won't bother your family, so he'll take the easiest path that will lead either to his happiness or end." He said. I let out a sigh. That meant he was sincere and meant no harm to us anymore. Lysandros closed his residence and went into hibernation, tapping a connection to magic and the supernatural. The concept of sl
