“Sabrina, we were just talking about you,” Creighton said, causing his sister to raise a single, slender eyebrow. “Can Sandra borrow your runners? They continued to walk in silence for several long minutes, just enjoying the peaceful sounds of the country and the warm spring air. The smell of manure mingled with the scent of freshly turned soil, flowers and new mown grass. It was a smell that reminded her of home and Sandra breathed deeply. The caterers were nearly finished setting up the tents and tables when Sandra and Creighton returned home, and the food was in the process of being prepared. Andrew chuckled under his breath as Creighton’s smile turned genuine and wide; telling her the attempt had worked. She stood up from the sofa with him, accepted the hug he gave her, and bit back the giggle when his hand cupped her bottom.
