QUINN'S POV

I watched Eva giggle uncontrollably as she clutched the tip she'd received from a client. Her eyes sparkled with excitement, and I couldn't help but smile along with her. She'd been saving up for her baking classes, and every tip brought her closer to achieving her dream.

My mind began to wander. I'd been wanting to ask her about Matt and their relationship for a while now. But every time I tried to bring it up, I'd chicken out. I didn't want to pry or ruin their relationship. Still, my curiosity got the better of me.

"Hey girl, can I ask you something?" I said, attempting to sound casual. Eva's expression turned wary, but she nodded nonetheless.

"Sure, what is it?" she asked, her voice tinged with a hint of apprehension.

I hesitated, unsure of how to phrase my question. "It's about Matt," I began, my voice barely above a whisper. Eva narrowed her slightly, and she leaned in, as if sensing that I was about to ask something less important.

"I was wondering...do you guys have

MATT'S POVMy eyes remained on the small, silver watch on my wrist. It was an old one, one that brought back memories of my past. The watch had been a gift from my late father, a reminder of the life he'd left behind. As he stared at the watch, my mind began to wander. I thought about my dad, and about those arguments we would have, and the choices he ended up making. The memories came flooding back, and i felt that familiar pang of guilt and regret. It was a feeling that I’ve grown accustomed to over the years.I stood up, walking over to the window as he tried to shake off the emotions. But the memories lingered, haunting me like a ghost. I paused to wonder how different my life would have been if my dad had been around. Or not.I certainly did not grow up having things easy. I grew up having to work my ass off, and till date I’m still doing just that. Did things become easier? No. They only got complicated. How do I explain that the lady I’m asked to gawk over has become one of my

QUINN'S POVToday was a really busy day at Eclipse. I couldn't help but notice the buzz of excitement in the club. The VIP section was packed with dignitaries and celebrities, all of whom were there for the special event. "Lucky me" my subconscious scoffed, excited that I wasn't assigned to that section. I wasn't done dealing with the fame and the protruding eyes Bryan's involvement left on me. Any appearance in that room might result in another scandal that I wasn't prepared for.I leaned in to Rachel, who was busy mixing drinks behind the bar. "What's going on tonight?" I asked her. "The VIP section is packed."she responded.Rachel nodded discreetly. "It's Marcus Thompson's birthday party," she whispered. "A wealthy philanthropist, he's a well-known entrepreneur in the city, and many of the city's elite have come out in numbers to celebrate with him. He's also invited all of his closest friends and allies, and they're all gathered in the VIP section."I raised an eyebrow. "No wonder

I stood in front of my closet, scanning the rows of dresses and tops, trying to decide what to wear for my date with Jasper. We had plans to meet at 7 pm, and I wanted to make a good impression at least. As I rummaged through my wardrobe, trying on several dresses, I finally settled on a red evening gown that hugged my curves in all the right places. I felt confident and beautiful as I slipped on my heels and grabbed my clutch.Just as I was about to leave the house, I heard a knock at the door. Right on time. I smiled, knowing that it was Jasper. I took a deep breath, smoothed out my dress, and made my way to the door. When I opened it, I was surprised to see Jasper standing in front of a sleek, black limousine. He was dressed in a pair of light blue pants and a white shirt. His shirt had three buttons opened, slightly revealing his shirt. And I must admit he looked hot. His eyes sparkled as he smiled at me."Wow, you look stunning," he said, his eyes roaming over my dress. I blushed

Jasper nodded, a faraway look in his eyes. "Yes, really," he said. "My family has a home there, and I spent most of my childhood running around the streets of Paris."I leaned in, my curiosity piqued. "What was it like, growing up in Paris?" I asked. He smiled. "It was amazing," he added. "My family is...well, they're quite wealthy, and we had a beautiful home in the heart of the city."His eyes seemed to glaze over, lost in thought, as he began to tell me about his childhood. "I grew up in a wealthy family, but we weren't among the richest in Europe.I leaned in, getting fascinated by the story. "What was it like, growing up in wealth then?" I asked."It was...complicated if I must say," he started. "My family had a lot of money, but my parents were always distant. They were more interested in their business dealings than in raising me.""So, you basically raised yourself?" I asked, laughing.Jasper nodded. "No... Yeah, something like that. I walked out of the supermarket, my hands filled with bags of groceries. I decided to use my weekend to do some shopping for the house. As I walked out into the sunlight, I didn't notice the figure standing in front of me until I bumped into him."Sorry!" I exclaimed, and stumbled backward, trying to grasp the items that fell off. He beat me to that, picking them up and stretching his arms to give them. That was when our eyes met. I was surprised to see Matt standing in front of me. We hadn't spoken in a while, and I had been avoiding him all week at work. Well, because of our last encounter. But now it seemed like fate has brought us together.Matt seemed to sense my unease. "Quinn, hey," he called in a low tone, trying to grab me.I hesitated, unsure of how to respond. I just stared at him. He looked at the bags in my arms. "Need some help?" he asked.I shook my head. "No, I'm good."Matt nodded, but he didn't move. Instead, he looked at me with a serious expression. As I sat in class, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. The rumors and gossip that had been circulating around school after my encounter with the media seemed to have finally died down. The constant stares and whispers had been getting to me, but now, I was finally able to focus on my schoolwork without feeling like I was under a microscope or people watching me like a hawk. Everyone wanted to sound trendy or even make an interesting story line out of me.I pulled out my notes and began to review them with the ones I borrowed from the class representative. Friday afternoon at the club.I stood alongside my coworkers in the cramped back room of Eclipse, listening to Mr. Jenkins addressed us."Tonight's party is a big deal, people," he said, in a stern voice. "We've got a VIP guest hosting a party to celebrate a major business deal, and I expect nothing but the best service from all of you."He paused, scanning the room before his eyes landed on me."I've also selected a special team to handle the VIP table. Quinn, Rachel, and Emily, you three will be responsible for making sure our guest and his party are well taken care of."I felt a surge of regret about being chosen, but also a little nervous. I had heard rumors that the VIP was one of the city's elites, and they were known for making incessant demands. I just wasn't ready to be on someone's door mat tonight.Mr. Jenkins handed us each a folder containing information about the VIP's party, including the menu and drink preferences."Remember, that this is a high-stakes get-together," he

I watched as Bryan made his way over to a tall sleek man who looked like he was in his late twenties, clapping him on the back and saying something in his ear.The man nodded in approval, looking like he was trying to make a quick escape. But before he could, Bryan grabbed the microphone again."And now, ladies and gentlemen," he called, "It's time to bring out the real entertainment."The room erupted into another round of cheers and catcalls as a group of strippers appeared from the shadows, dressed in lingerie and thong outfits. They made their way to the stage, where they began to dance and perform.I watched in disgust, feeling like I was trapped in some kind of bad dream. This was not the kind of place I wanted to be, and I definitely didn't want to be here with Bryan and his sleazy friends. It reminded me of the reason I avoided the VIP lounge on most occasions. But I was stuck there, at least for the rest of the night. And who knew what other surprises Bryan had in store for me

He had pulled me closer to him, wrapping his arms around me and holding me tight. lSoon the driver arrived, and I got in, my mind still reeling from the event that had just happened.I pulled out my phone and started to dial Bryan's number. I was going to confront him but hung up on second thought.Maybe I should go to Eva, except that I didn't want to disturb her either. Besides, I'm not sure if she's ready to talk to me yet.I needed a distraction, something to channel this anger and frustration into. I spotted a small art studio nearby and quickly asked the driver to stop. I made my way inside. The smell of paint enveloping me, and calming my racing thoughts. It looked like a paint and sip recreational center, but it seemed quiet today.I settled in at a stand, picking up a brush and dipping it into a bright shade of blue. As I began to paint, I felt my tension slowly began to ease, replaced by a sense of calmness and focus.Just as I was getting lost in the creative process, my phone buzzed again. I hesitated, wondering if it was worth it. But as I looked ove

"A courier just dropped this off, sir. It's marked 'urgent' and 'personal'."My eyes narrowed slightly as I took the envelope from her hand. It had my name typed on the front, but there was no indication of who had sent it or what it might contain."Thank you. That's all for now." I announced, dismissing her. She nodded and backed out of the room, closing the door softly behind her.I scanned the contents of the envelope, my expression darkened. "This is highly unacceptable. No, I wouldn't let her walk away from the agreement so easily."I picked up my phone and dialed my lawyer. "I need you to come to my office, right now.""Is everything okay, Mr Braxton?" Don't worry."It's another morning, except that this is a not so bright one. I looked around Bryan's bedroom, my temporary prison. As I began to pack the few belongings I'd be taking with me. I was doing this. I was staying there, in this gilded cage, until I figured out my next move."I can do this," I said to myself, trying to sound convincing. "Maybe, I can stay here, play the part, and bide my time. It's not going to be forever. Just until I figure out what to do"But the truth was, I had no idea how to escape Bryan's grasp. He had eyes and ears everywhere, and if I tried to run, he'd find me. Underneath the moon and the stars, he'd find me.I shuddered at the thought, pushing it aside as I lifted the carton, moving it to

The receptionist looked up from behind the desk, smiling politely."Can I help you?" she asked."I'm here to see Mrs. Stone," I replied, trying to sound confident.
