Chapter eight

Gavin was running late for the meeting he has with the investors. He continuously glanced at his wrist watch. His car suddenly stopped as the car collided with another car. Gavin was surprised and asked his driver to find out what had happened. His driver got down to check. 

A lady got down from the other car , she really was angry. She approached Gavin's driver with a fist.

      "Look what you did to my car" she yelled at him

     "Mya apologies but I'm not at fault. You're on the wrong lane ma'am"

     "You're arguing with me?

      "No. I'm just telling you the truth. You're on the wrong lane. If you still insist that you're right... I'll call in the insurance company to take up this issue. "

      "Yes. Call them"

     "Hold on..."

    "What are you trying to do?

     "Aunty! Arya rushed to the lady "aunt... I'm late for work and besides we're the ones at fault. Let's go"

     "Arya... don't get intimidated. I'll handle this" 

    "No aunt. Let's go. I'm sorry for the inconvenience but we have to go sir. Sincere apologies. Let's go aunt. Arya said dragging her aunt along.

Gavin's driver returned to the car. He went in and shut the door.

     "Who are those? Gavin asked

    "Some lady who wants to get some money from us. Her niece apologized already"

     "Come on... let's get going. I'm already late for work"

     "Yes sir"

They arrived at the company. Gavin got out of the car and quickly rushed into the building. While hurrying to the conference room, he bumped into a a girl. She quickly apologised to him, he ignored her and  and rushed to conference room. 

He apologized for being late to the meeting. He had his seat and the meeting commenced. It was successfully and he got the investors to agree to invest in their new project. He was really excited to have signed a contract with them. He saw them off to the lobby and returned to his office. He exhaled and picked up a file. He had a flashback on the earlier incident.

    "Today was quite a day. Oh right...a girl bumped into me. I wonder who she is and she seems pretty new. But her face seemed quite familiar. Have I seen that face before? Well...I don't care. It's totally impossible to know the faces of my employees and also to recall faces from the past. Yes come in"

    "Good morning sir. Here are the files you requested. Sir... your next meeting is by 11 am"

    "Yes. Thanks Maria"

    "Sir...I think you need a O.A to assist you closely. You're overworking yourself and it's not advisable. You need a break and some rest. You're the CEO"

     "I know and I have a lot of responsibilities on my shoulders. I have to fulfill them"

    "I understand sir. I'm just giving an advice"

    "Yes and I understand too. Thanks for your advise Maria. Now I know why dad made his secretary and also retained you to be my secretary"

    "Much flattering sir. I'll go ahead sir"

    "Sure. I'll be down for the meeting soon"

    "Yes sir. I've prepared all you'll need for the meeting"

    "Thank you"

   "Sure. I'll leave then"

     "Maria is right...I do need a P.A"

Gavin retired to his house after work. Arianna was making dinner for everyone while the maids left to bring everyone down for dinner. Samantha was quite surprised to see Arianna make dinner for everyone. Gavin was the last to join the dinner. Arianna served him dinner and sat beside him.

     "Do you like it? Is it delicious? It's your favourite right?

    "Can you let me eat in peace without your annoying questions, Arianna?

    "Yes. Go ahead. Enjoy"

    "I must confess, this is delicious" George commended Arianna

     "Thank you sir. I hope you'll enjoy it"

    "Isn't it strange that our daughter in law cooks often, these days. I hope she's not seeking for something"

     "No ma'am. I just wanna make dinner"

    "Okay. I hope so"

    "I'll be upstairs" Gavin stopped eating and stood up.

    "You're leaving? Arianna quickly grasped his hand.

     "Let go. I'm not obligated to tell you why. Am I? I'll leave then. Good night dad and.mum'

    "I'll go ahead good. Arianna dropped the napkin and rushed out.

Arianna quickly followed Gavin. Gavin placed some files in his bag and placed the bag on his study desk. He picked another file and flipped through it. Arianna walked and noticed Gavin was busy. She plans on distracting him a bit. She smiled and rushed to him. She tapped his shoulder

    "What now? He snapped at her.

    'uhmm...you left dinner earlier than..."

    "Why do you like bothering me me? Didn't we set boundaries? Stop crossing mine please"

    "Just worried about you. Uhmm... Gavin..can you..."

    "What? He glared at her.

     ""Help me and apply this on my back... please"

     "What's that?

    "A lotion I apply at my back to keep it smooth. I'm a mod and I need to maintain and smooth and clear skin. So please help me out with it'

    "Do it yourself and... don't follow me. My answer is still no"

     "Please do it for me". She placed it in his palm and smiled at him "please my dearest husband, Gavin".   "Not gonna work on me. Take it back"

    "C'mon, just apply. Your name won't change its meaning"

She smiled at him.

Arianna dragged him to the bed and made him sit down. She removed her jacket and unzipped her night gown.

    ""Go ahead, apply it quickly. I feel so sleepy"

     "I can't do this. Do it yourself"

    "Yes you can. Hurry up and don't miss a spot'

    "Wow! Quite an order. Yes boss"

Gavin opened the cap of the lotion and poured some into his hands. He gently applied it on Arianna's back. Then he realised how smooth her back was. Arianna placed her hair on her right shoulder giving Gavin a better view of her neck and shoulder. Gavin realized she had lovely shoulders and neck and her back was attractive. He noticed himself drawing closer to her. He sniffed her hair Which smelled great. He had this sudden urge of kissing her neck. His lips were close to her neck when Arianna ruined the moment when she asked him if he was done applying the lotion.

Gavin paused for a moment and realized what he was about doing. He covered the lotion and dropped it beside Arianna. He quickly got up and hurriedly left for the bathroom leaving Arianna quite bemused. She wondered why he behaved that way. She noticed his state was wired and his voice was shaky. Gavin shut the bathroom door and looked into the mirror.

    "What was I about to do? Kiss her neck? Am I nuts? I can swear she's using black magic on me cause I can't do that if I was in my right state of mind. Never... I'm really going crazy. Thank goodness she didn't catch on. Listen Gavin... you've got to be careful. I guess her skin is her weapon and she's trying to bring me down but I'll be very careful. She wants to achieve her aim but I won't let her do that. I bet if I see her naked...I don't know..I might grab her and drag her under my blanket. No. It can't happen. I won't let it happen. I hope she isn't eavesdropping on what I'm saying. I have to return to the room before she becomes suspicious".

Gavin washed his face and returned back to the room. Arianna was in bed already. Gavin laid on his bed. For a moment he stared at her back. When he noticed her body move, he quickly shut his eyes. Arianna turned, facing him. Gavin tried to take a sneak peek if she was sleeping but had an eye contact with her. He quickly shut his eyes and pulled up his duvet. Arianna laughed.

The next morning, Gavin was getting ready for work when Arianna walked in on towel. She sat on the chair and stretched out her leg to apply cream on it. 

Gavin's eyes followed her hand movements as she applied cream on her shoulders. He tried to stop looking when her legs caught his attention. He blinked twice and turned immediately. He picked his bag and left the room. He went downstairs had his breakfast and left for his car. He couldn't stop thinking about last night's incident and how he was practically lusting after Arianna's body this morning. He quickly snapped out if it and focused on the file he had in his hand. He arrived at the company. He took a deep breath and wished himself a good day and not to think about Arianna.

Arianna arrived at her photoshoot for the new magazine cover. She was happy but didn't know why she was happy. She felt something magical...like she's wining without trying. 

Her shoot ended early. Jayden approached her with coffee. She didn't want coffee. She rejected the coffee politely.

   "Sorry..I don't want coffee. A chilled bottle of water will do"

    "Really? I had no idea. I'll get you one immediately.    "No need. I'm hungry. Let's go have lunch. Brittany... hurry up.. we're leaving"

    "I'm coming. I'm here. Where are we going to this time?

    "Lunch break deserves a nice lunch. Don't you think guys? Arianna asked

    "Of course. I'm hungry. Let's go"

   "I'll get the car ready"

    "He's handsome isn't he? Arianna asked Brittany

    "Why is this coming from you? You're married. Let's go. He's here" 

    "Hold on....!
