Maya's pov

I found an empty classroom and made my way indsie and immediately answered my father's call.

"Hey, Dad," I said, excited to hear from after a while

"Hey, kiddo. How are you?" His voice poured out of the phone.

I had not heard from him in a while and had even been planning to call him later this week to check on him but now that he'd taken the initiative to call, it felt very good.

"Does this have anything to do with the boy you are seeing?" He asked.
