Andre’s POV I was in the trenches, visiting our supervisors on our upcoming projects. The Trenches, as we preferred to call them, were the ghetto areas of the city—the vermin that scoured the beautiful landscape of our urban city. The name was derived from a song of the same name, narrating the sufferings of soldiers trapped in trenches in the Second World War and how they were similar to the people caught in the crossfire of poverty, trapped in the ghetto. Driving through the Trenches is usually a rough and demanding experience, with the poverty-stricken air attacking through all your senses. It was a sleek modern space with a professional atmosphere as the crew scattered themselves in different parts of the room to enable them to take the conversation from multiple angles. I looked around, drinking in the aesthetics of the building: a neutral grey paint on the walls and a polished black floor. A large, curved desk was sitting at the centre of the room with three chairs positioned on either side, which meant one for the reporter and the other two for me and Cameron. The most breathtaking part was when Millie pressed a button and one section of the wall mechanically slid away, revealing a breathtaking view of the city. In the final settings, the strong light transitioned to soft, warm lighting, illuminating the space with a combination of floor lamps and overhead lights that created a flattering glow.
