AILEEN'S POVWhen I awoke the next morning, Joshua had already left, but I still couldn't move. After tormenting me so severely the night before, Joshua left me all by myself, and I mumbled to myself, "Stupid Joshua." I was a little bit irritated about it. As I gently climbed down from the bed, I took care not to inflict any further pain on my already throbbing back. When I was able to get out of bed, I went to the door and gently knocked on it. Within seconds, two heads leaned into the room for a peek."Would you be able to give me some water? My throat feels dry and stuffy." The two of them nodded, and one of them hurried off to get some water for me. I couldn't help but smile a little bit. Lila, the second maid who waited outside, came into the room accompanied by three other maids following closely behind."Uh... Do you need something?" When I asked them, they all smiled and surrounded me. Lila insisted that I wait for them in the dressing room, and I sat there. The bed sheets wer
"Who exactly are you? What kind of power are you referring to?" There was a mixture of curiosity and a hint of desperation in Vivian's eyes when she asked the question. The wooden bird's voice sliced through the air and sliced Vivian's heart like butter as it chuckled. Vivian's heart pounded against her ribcage and underneath her chest; she was anticipating something really exciting. "I am a messenger, and I have the power to grant you the ability to manipulate anyone and everyone to be under your control. You will get what you want and when you want it. Those who despised and humiliated you will eventually bow down to you in adulation, but be warned: having the entire world subservient to you comes at a cost. If you consider the power that you will soon wield, the modest price that you are paying for it is hardly even worth it." Vivian smiled wickedly as she examined the offer. A dark and evil glimmer ran through her eyes, and her fingers gripped the hem of her dress tightly. She d
“We have to go back to the other world?” I asked Joshua who nodded gently. Our footsteps echoed in the empty corridor as we headed to Joshua’s study. It was located about five rooms away from mine so it was quite a walk. When we got to the study, Joshua locked the doors and erected a barrier around the room; to keep intruders out and to stop anyone who could possibly be trying to spy on us.One he finished erecting the barrier, he turned to me and spoke, “Yeah. Xander has caught some of the rogue's trail and he says that they are heading towards the main city.” I gasped, “The main city? What are they trying to do?” “I have no idea as well.” Joshua shook his head. I knew that he was just as confused as I was, but he continued, “Rogue wolves are known for killing everyone who stands in their way and they also like to eat humans. Knowing humans, they would try to protect themselves from the wolves and it might lead to a one-sided massacre since the humans aren't going to be prepared.”
Aileen's POV I stared at the magnificent wolf before me, taking in her beautiful white fur. Slowly, I stood up and looked at her. "What is your name?" I asked curiously. The wolf stared back at me for a while, then said, "I do not have a name. I was born from your consciousness, so it is you who is supposed to give me a name." I stared at her in bewilderment, unsure of what to say. Slowly, I walked towards her, taking in her scent. She smelled of nature , the scent of trees, soil, and misty water. But there was something else, too - something that felt electric, like lightning coursing through my veins. I stopped in front of the wolf and looked down at her. "What exactly is your power?" I asked. She cocked her head to the side, as if pondering my question. Then, she lifted her head to the sky and howled. The howl was like nothing I'd ever heard before - it was hauntingly beautiful, and it sent shivers down my spine. "Woah, what did you just do?" I asked, completely fascinated b
AILEEN’S POV“This place is so eerie.” I shivered and ran my hands down my skin. It was a bit cold, not the coldness that affected the skin but one that affected the heart; it was a scary type of coldness. Owls hooted and crickets chirped loudly, these animals could even play in a band if they wanted to. I and Joshua left the other world as early as we could but once we came here, it was still midnight. When we first came out of the forest, we could both smell the smells of the wolves that had already arrived before us and once we followed their scents, it led to Berry’s apartment. Since one of the tenants there recognized me, Xander didn't wipe her memories off, probably because she knew nothing about me being a werewolf and said that Berry might have left earlier since they heard footsteps coming out of the apartment at midnight. Of course I and Joshua knew that it wasn't true so we followed the rogue wolf’s scent to the forest and that's how we went deeper and deeper until we got
AILEEN'S POV As Joshua, I, and the rogue leader cautiously entered the masked man’s hideout, an eerie stillness enveloped the atmosphere. The doors creaked as we walked into the huge dark castle and I noticed along the way that there was barely any furniture in the hideout. Normally, since someone lived here, there ought to be some pieces of furniture. Nonetheless, we continued walking until we got to the third room and we smelled something odd. I stared at the ground and noticed some type of red liquid that formed a puddle on the ground. It came from the other side of the room, behind the door. I raised my head to look at Joshua. He nodded and with a single breath, he opened the doors and immediately , his eyes widened as he surveyed the bare room, on the ground were bodies. Lots of dead bodies,. people who had been gruesome murdered. Heads were strewn far across from their bodies and their limbs were even cut and thrown apart too. Some of them looked like they were squeezed to d
AILEEN'S POV “How did he know about your seal?” Joshua asked in horror, his eyes were wide with shock. I had no idea, and it seemed like he had been searching up on it as well. “Let's look over those books, there might be something there about me that we don't know yet.” I pointed towards the other shelves that also had the same mark on them. Joshua nodded and we separated. There were seven different shelves in the room and on three, the marks of my seal were painted, no, not painted, it was carved on it. I still wondered why this place wasn't destroyed. Did he think that we would never be able to get to this library? That we would die before we got there. Then he underestimated us. We flipped book after book and yet, we couldn't find anything. Apart from a few spells and other gibberish, I and Joshua found nothing about my seal. Maybe the gibberish could tell us something if we knew how to translate it? However, seeing how these books were still very new, it didn't seem like it
CHAPTER 32: VIVIAN'S POV I grumbled as I felt the sun hit my face. The last thing I wanted was to start a new day because nothing was promising. Everything has been taken away from me by that ‘wretch’, my anger towards Aileen knows no bounds and if I ever come face to face with her again, I made it a goal to surely kill her. I groaned as I sat up and took off the eye covers I wore to sleep. They weren't doing much to keep me asleep after the sun had risen. If only they were living creatures or servants, I would have punished them severely for not doing their job. I'll be honest, I've been awake for a while. Every night, I can't sleep until late in the night and I wake up too early and can't go back to sleep which makes me feel angry and grumpy. I've never been a morning person but my time here has made it even worse. Aileen always comes to me as a form of a nightmare, I'll have everything I had and wanted and she'll rub it in my face while I serve her as a maid. When I finally g
CHAPTER 109 {THE END} AUTHOR'S POV “Luna Aileen is still bleeding, bring in some hot water and fresh towels. Quickly!” Servants scurried about in the corridors and hallways as Aileen’s screams of pain rang throughout the entire place. Her curses were also loud enough for people to hear, if she wasn't in a critical condition, it would have been funny. Meanwhile, Joshua was pacing in front of the doors, the smell of his mate's blood was making him more agitated. Joshua had changed, his hair had grown a bit longer, his eyes lighter. He had a half crescent moon on his forehead, a symbol of the Protector. He looked a bit mature now but everyone could feel the nervousness and pain rolling off of him in waves. He winced when Aileen let out another string of curses. “If you impregnate me again, Joshua, I'll make sure to cut it off! I'll castrate you! Arghh!” “Push, Luna Aileen, I can see its head.” “Urghhh!” Aileen let out another scream and in the span of some hours, the cries of ne
Chapter 108AILEEN'S POV “Years ago, my parents were killed by the Dark Realm Lord, just before Sera the Dark Realm was destroyed. I was already a child who had knowledge of those things so I wanted revenge. I joined Sera as a spy, I and my right hand man, Osris started to look for how to get revenge since his parents were also killed and I came across a prophecy. It talked about you and your powers. I don't exactly remember how it goes but it says that anyone who controls your powers would be able to control the werewolf world. I was scared that Sera would find out and she would want to use you. I tried to kill you, as you know. I changed all the books containing your powers so she didn't find out. A lot of people listened to me instead of her. So yeah, all along, I only wanted to kill you because I didn't want you to fall into Sera's hands.” Terry explained as he took us to the runes. I didn't say a word but I didn't think I expected this. I always thought that he was the bad gu
Chapter 107 JOSHUA'S POV “Ugh…” I let out a cry of agony. My chest, along with the rest of my body, was in such excruciating pain that it seemed like I was on fire. Sera had given me something, but she did not disclose the name of the substance; however, it was poisonous. My intestines felt as if they were being gnawed on by a million ants, in addition to the sensation that I was on fire myself. In the beginning, I was cold, but as time went on, the temperature rose so much and then afterwards, I was unable to feel my arms and legs. After then, my eyes turned completely dark, and I was unable to see anything. In spite of the fact that I waited for my hearing to go out as well, the sound was still excruciatingly loud, and the beating that came from the room next to mine was a form of torment. Those three women who came with Aileen were being punished by Sera. To my great relief, Xander and Berry were not present, and neither were the townspeople. So at least, some people were
Chapter 106 AILEEN'S POV“Aileen, Sera, she... she..." Both Elysia and Lia came to a complete stop directly across from us, their eyes widened in surprise. They came to issue a warning to us about Sera, but it was too late; Sera had already become aware of our presence. "Oh, what? Does all of you here have the same goal in mind? I was taken aback when I discovered that the woman who had attempted to kill me and then spied on us was actually with Aileen, Elysia, is it? I have been pondering on many ways in which I could trick you and convince you to join my side. Sadly, I will have to put an end to your life at some point, since you're with Aileen. I hope you don't take offence to that.” Sera gave a shrug and started walking in our direction. Instantaneously, my eyes sharpened, and I moved directly in front of Joshua, shielding him. However, she only smiled at us and stopped some meters away from us. “The fact that you came to my territory and attempted to kidnap my man, assassinat
CHAPTER 105 AUTHOR'S POV Darkness lightened up as the moon rose higher and higher into the sky, and its brilliance descended upon the village below as if there were no problems at all. Owls hooted, insects chirped, and birds sang in the night sky. There was a distinct musical composition that resulted from the sounds, which people would either find irritating or agreeable to the ears. It wasn't just that, though. The villagers gradually emerged from their condition of being puppets, staring at their walls in a state of amazement and wondering what they had been doing when they were in this state. Some of them were overcome with feelings of guilt as they recalled the events that had transpired over the preceding few days. All of these were observed by the pairs of icy blue eyes that were standing in the shadows and watching them with a triumphant smirk on their faces. As they emerged from the shadows, their hair, which was a metallic silver colour, glistened in the wind. They were
CHAPTER 104AILEEN’S POVWhen I told Elysia and the others about what I had seen the following morning, I made sure to include everything that I had seen, without leaving anything out. For a little period, everyone was silent, and I could see that Elysia was attempting to persuade herself to reveal something to us. On the other hand, I did not speak up because I believed that if it was something that she couldn't readily say, then it had to be really horrible.“The fact of the matter is that the three of us were born in the same way that Sera acquired her abilities.” While Elysia began, I, along with Berry and Xander, was unable to comprehend what she was saying."Could you elaborate on your words just a little bit? I'm not entirely sure I understand what you're talking about."All right... When Sera gained her abilities, we were in the castle. You have to understand that our parents were taken captive many years before the conflict broke out. The master of the dark realm was involved
Chapter 103AUTHOR'S POV "Terry, it has been about a month since you have been looking for that woman; why are you still looking for her? It's too late; she's gone, for good!” Sera yelled, her eyes widened in rage. One more debate had been begun by them regarding Aileen and whether or not she had passed away. "Have you located her dead body?" Terry switched his attention to Sera, his eyes narrowing and his lips pressing against one other as he did so. “We did not, but I'm telling you that..." "In the event that we did not find her body, do you not believe that your presumptions are a little distant from the truth? Literally, she vanished before our own eyes! In addition, we have not been able to locate her body since that time; what further leads you to conclude that she is not alive? It is your recklessness that will ultimately lead to your demise, Sera.” Sera scoffed, “Fine! I admit that I'm a bit reckless. You, on the other hand? How could you possibly believe that I am unawar
"He's fine now, isn't he? In addition to that, we were successful in deceiving Sera into believing that the bug is still inside of him. Whew, it was a very fortunate escape." As she leaned against the wall, Elysia closed her eyes and sagged forward. She looked like she was about to fall just from standing for too long. Not only did she have dark circles and eyebags around her slanted eyes, but all of us did as well. "I am relieved that it was successful. So what comes next?" Concerned and hesitant, Xander asked with a low voice. Xander was typically so talkative, so I had never seen him exhibiting such a low profile. “We came to the conclusion that he would be the covert agent inside the manor. In light of the fact that the both of us able to interact telepathically, it would be convenient for me if he could inform us about anything that is occurring inside. Perhaps he could also give us a heads-up whenever Sera is about to organise some other scheme or something.” After removing t
CHAPTER 101AILEEN’S POVAt that moment, we were waiting for Joshua to restore his composure; for him to move his body so we could begin our plan. It has been three days since he made his initial movements, and it appears that he has regained control over his limbs and even his thoughts. Even though right now, his senses were comparable to those of a kid, he was still aware of the fact that if Sera discovered him moving, he would be in danger. By the end of the fourth day, he was already walking on his own. He was even talking to himself, asking where I was and calling my name in a quiet voice, much like a toddler would. Not only did it take everything I had to keep from crying, but it also took everything I had to keep from jumping down from where I was hiding and running to hug him and tell him all of my problems. I could hear footsteps coming towards the room, and Joshua could hear them as well. As a result, he immediately sat down in the exact position that he had been sitting in
