NADIA. I didn’t come down for dinner. I told the Omega that came up to tell Riley that I was sleeping. And I guess Riley believed her because he didn’t come up even after dinner was over. And I was thankful for that. I went directly to our room after I saw the pictures of my uncle’s dead body. Riley followed after me, but I shunned him away and told him I needed time to grasp what was happening. He left after he kissed my forehead and told me to call him once I was ready to talk about it. But the truth is, I was scared. I tried to vomit to take it all out of my senses, but nothing was coming out. I had no idea what I was scared of the most - that my uncle was dead or the thoughts that crossed my mind. I trusted my mate, but a part of me would always wonder what he was up to whenever I wasn’t around him. Was he ruthless? Or does he act with integrity? I knew that this pack loved and respected him and that they saw him as an honorable Alpha, and it terrified me that, because of me, h
RILEY. I woke up and Nadia was not beside me. I glanced at the clock and it was showing past seven in the morning. I overslept. I stayed awake for a couple of more hours after Nadia drifted off to slumber as I gathered my thoughts on everything I discovered yesterday and the plans I had in place. I already had a lead about her father, but I needed more time to confirm everything. Thus, I didn’t tell her about it. I didn’t want to set any expectations. It was enough for now that she knew her father was alive. I tried to heighten my senses to check if Nadia was in the bathroom, but it looked like she was nowhere inside our bedroom. I shoved the blanket off my body as I grabbed a pair of sweatpants and a shirt, pulling them on me as I mind-linked her, but her mind was off, so I tried to reach my Beta instead. 'Have you seen Nadia?' 'Good morning, Alpha. She’s in the kitchen, helping with breakfast. Should I tell the Luna you’re looking for her?' 'No need. I’m on my way down.'
NADIA. Riley spent the rest of the morning in his office before he and Beta Dominic went out to do some pack’s business on the other side of the territory. I spent the rest of the day with Jenny and the females from the pack who were part of a livelihood program. Jenny and I went to the warehouse where most females gather to make handmade items and trinkets that they sell at the center — the same place Riley took me on my second day in the territory. It has been part of my weekly routine to visit them twice a week, but I decided to spend more time with them today since Luna Graciella, Riley’s aunt and Caleb’s mother, canceled her visit with me today. She was supposed to help me with the Luna ceremony program that I would be giving to the organizer so they could start working on it even if Riley and I hadn’t decided when the ceremony would take place. The Luna canceled her visit because Caleb had another row with his father about Anya. Although Luna Graciella had personally visited
NADIA. The last three weeks have just flown by so fast. Beta Dominic and Jenny just returned home from the Black Shadow Pack, as well as Gamma Sebastian from the Gamma Assembly he attended, so Riley and I took the afternoon off. We went to the neutral city together with Alpha Darvin just to kill off time and to observe the human territory. We were at the center, and I was checking things in the outside marketplace when I heard a female call after my mate. My head tilted to look at the brunette with curly hair approaching Riley. A human. "Riley! Hi! Do you remember me?" She asked chirpily, but her eyes drifted to Alpha Darvin and stayed there for a while before shifting her gaze back to my mate. Riley’s eyes darted to me before he returned his attention to the female smiling in front of him, shaking his head at her as he sent me a mindlink. 'I swear to the Goddess, I don’t know this female and I never had a relationship with her or anyone.' I almost choked at the seriousness of his
NADIA. Riley and I walked to his office and found Beta Dominic on his desk at the far end of the room, burying himself in a pile of documents on his table. "Good evening, Beta." I greeted him, taking his attention from his work. "Alpha, Luna," he greeted as he stood up from his chair before Riley motioned for him to sit down. "How was your visit with the Black Shadow pack? I didn’t have time to ask you earlier." I asked him as I took an empty glass and poured some strong whisky for my Alpha. "It was good. The visit was better than the last one. They are more relaxed around me now." He chuckled before he continued. "And Janna gave birth while I was there." "I heard. Should I make you a drink too?" I handed the glass to Riley, but before I could move away, his arm snaked around my waist as he gently pulled me into his lap. "No need to bother, Luna. I can do that myself. I don’t think the Alpha will let you go from his arms anyway." The Beta snickered his response as he stood up fr
RILEY. The day of our travel to the Black Shadow Pack has finally arrived. This was Nadia’s first trip to another pack, as my Luna, and she couldn’t help but be excited. And I was hoping she would still feel happy after this visit. I knew I should have been more open and told her about everything I discovered, but I didn’t because I wasn’t certain either. I was just relying on my hunches. So I would just let nature take its course. We arrived at the airport an hour ago and were picked up by Beta Gavin and some of his men. He was Caspian’s brother-in-law. And we didn’t exactly have a good relationship the first time we met. Alia, his mate, Caspian’s sister, had a childhood crush on me. I had no idea what I actually did wrong on that part, but he somehow hated me for it. But if I based it on the warm welcome we received from him today and the way he was relaxed around me, it seemed like it was all behind him now, which I was thankful for. I was hoping for the same thing with Alia. I
LUNA CLAIR. 'Princess?' Jake’s voice rang in my head. 'Jake?' I answered him right away. 'They’re in the territory. They’ll be here soon. Are you ready?' 'I think I am. Just let me get my head together and prepare myself a bit more.' I excused myself from Janna and Alia, and went into the bathroom. 'I love you. No matter what happens today, you will let your father explain. No running away.' 'I promise.' 'Or I will chain you up around my body.' 'That doesn’t sound bad. I might just reconsider running away then...' I bit my lower lip as I rested my hands on the bathroom counter. 'I love you, you know that? And I will just be here for you.' 'I love you too. And thank you.' 'We’re a team, princess. I will always have your back.' I smiled as the mindlink closed while I looked at my reflection in the bathroom mirror. Alia and Janna were outside doing a final touch on Janna’s curls. I excused myself so I could gather myself before facing Nadia. A week ago, Jake came to me and co
RILEY. "Veronica and I grew up together. We were good friends until we just found ourselves falling for each other. The relationship was new when the attack happened. For a week, I was trying to find where she was. And when I did find her, she told me she found her mate in the pack they ran to during the attack. I didn’t bother to ask what pack. I was heartbroken but I knew what I signed up for when we dive into the relationship. So I moved on and started my life with a new pack while trying to forget her. David found Camilla and they moved to the Black Shadow Pack. I was left alone on my own. I wanted my pack and my territory back, but I had no one. And then I found Laura, my mate, and decided that maybe her being human was a sign that I was bound to just let go of my pack. But in the back of my mind, if I get an heir, I would try again to take back what was mine. But Laura and I were not blessed with a pup. Again, I took it as a sign that I was not bound to have a pack. And I try

12 YEARS AFTER THE LUNA CEREMONY RILEY. "Zach, come here." My firm voice echoed in the cemetery as Zach walked toward us with a solemn expression on his face. Just by the sound of my voice, he knew I was upset with him. He sat down in front of me and Nadia, crossing his legs and sitting on them as he clasped his hands together before locking eyes with mine. That was one thing I taught my son, to look me in the eyes whenever I talked with him. "Explain why you shouted at Amber earlier," I asked him, my forehead creasing. We just came from Caspian and Andrea’s twins’ 10th birthday party. The whole time, we saw Zach tease and taunt Amber, which was not his usual behavior. But we didn’t mind. Zach has always behaved, except whenever Amber was around. And Caspian’s little princess never backed down and would always fight back whenever Zach attempted to annoy her. And all the time they would make a fuzz, we just let it slide because, at the end of the day, they would still be attached
EIGHT YEARS LATER.RILEY."Harder! Please! Oh yes! More!" Nadia was whimpering under my hold, and I obliged. My hand was gripping her hips tightly as I grunted while I pounced into her. She was a temptress. I woke up with her mouth on my dick, giving me pleasure that only she could provide, before demanding I fuck her as payback for my early treat. And I was more than willing to pay."Nadia... Fuck!" I groaned, my mouth pressed against her hair. Her sweet scent combined with the smell of her arousal was giving me an ultimate high. Like my own personal fucking drug.I was having the best time of my life when a sudden movement from outside our room caught my ears. And then soft knocks came.Nadia was so lost in ecstasy, and that was probably the reason she didn’t hear the soft knocks. Soon, I caught a whiff of Nikka, my youngest twin daughter. She was the one behind the door.Shit! I didn’t want to stop fucking Nadia. I could feel her on the brink of her release. We were standing, her
The Luna Ceremony. NADIA. My union ceremony with Riley as well as my Luna Ceremony just ended an hour ago. The ballroom was now buzzing with guests from almost all the packs that we had an alliance with. Some of the Lunas I had met, but there were new faces as well. But most importantly, Katarina was here. With her very own Alpha. I watched with happiness overwhelming my heart as my best friend danced gracefully in the arms of the man she wanted and, eventually, the one she ended up with. She had a tough ride, but she made it through. If there was anyone who deserved happiness, it was the female who stood up for me all these years. The only female who made me feel important even when I had nothing to offer her back. "They looked good together…" Riley’s warm and comforting breath fanned through over my neck as he brushed his lips against my skin, bringing tingles and sparks that only he could give me. His arm coiled around my body as I turned around and snuggled into him while my a
ALPHA DARVIN. "Where do you think you’re going?" Katarina’s voice reached my ears as I was about to step out of the packhouse. She must have descended the stairs and caught my scent. I spun around, a wide grin on my face as I looked at my sister, who was approaching with her eyebrows hiked up as she looked at me from head to toe. "Are you wearing a perfume?" She asked. "Does it smell bad?" I answered almost immediately. "No. It actually smells nice but… just wondering why?" I couldn’t blame her for her curiosity. Werewolves emit scents that are simply attractive to other wolves, and a special scent just for their mate, so there was simply no need to shower in perfume. Unless, of course, your mate happens to be human and would not be able to scent your special scent. "Oh Goddess, did you brush up your hair and clean your face too?" Katarina came forward and cupped my face. "Darvin, are you okay?" I chuckled as I held her palms and withdrew them from my cheeks. "Do I look good?"
ALPHA DARVIN. After thinking about it for months, I finally had the courage to dial her number. My wolf, Titan, was getting weaker, and I was getting restless. We wanted to at least hear her voice, even if it was for the last time. After three rings, she picked up her mobile phone, and her sweet voice was like music to my ears. "Hello…" I said I just wanted to hear her voice, but I couldn’t find it in me to drop the call. I would wait until she does. A few seconds had gone by and she was still on the line and I could hear her breathing. "Hello…" She said it one more time before she let out a deep sigh, and I knew she would be dropping the phone call soon. "Is this Celeste?" I didn’t know what got into me. All I knew was that I suddenly didn’t like the idea of her hanging up. "Yes. Who’s this?" But her voice sounded chirpier this time. "This is Darvin… I’m not sure if you remember me, but I am…" "Darvin… Riley’s friend…" She cut me off, and I don’t know why, but I could pictur
NADIA."What time are Bella and Trent coming?" I asked Ellie for the nth time, and she giggled again, as she did earlier. "I don’t know. Why don't you believe me?" "She’s your twin. I’m sure she tells you everything." I answered her. We were all planning to visit the cemetery today, but we haven’t heard of Bella and Trent if they were already on their way here."Well, not anymore. We don’t talk about sex and stuff, and I think that’s what Bella and Trent have been doing mostly these days." Her eyes were squinting as she laughed heartily the moment she saw her brother’s head snapped up to look at her with an annoyed expression on his face.We were eating lunch in the dining room. Only the three of us were around since Sebastian and Jenny were eating lunch with their mothers. BETA DOMINIC. I was on the other side of the territory with Alpha Riley when Gamma Sebastian’s message came. He stated that he had granted Sofia permission to enter the territory and that she was on her way to the packhouse. My mind went into a haze. She was not supposed to be traveling at a time like this. Since the incident with Zahra, all of the Alphas in the area have agreed to only travel with females when absolutely necessary. And having her travel without Alpha Darvin with her didn’t sit well with me. "Alpha," I called for my Alpha’s attention. "Hmmm..." he replied before turning his gaze on me. "Do you think you’ll be fine if I leave you alone here? Sofia is on her way to the packhouse with just Alpha Darvin’s men with her." "What the fuck is she doing here?" I shrugged my shoulders before I brushed my hand over my hair. "I had no fucking idea." "Go then. I’ll just wrap it up here and tell Nadia I’ll be home soon after." I cocked my head to the side in submission befo
NADIA. The packhouse was still gloomy, but it was swarming with warriors today. Riley has stepped up the security within the packhouse and around the territory. The vast neutral forest connecting Alpha Caspian and Alpha Darvin’s territories with us was now rounded up by warriors from all three packs. There was already security before, but it wasn’t as established as it is now. After breakfast, Riley stayed in his office with Alpha Aeon. The Alpha arrived early this morning to pay respect to Zahra, and they’ve been discussing something behind closed doors. Only the Beta and the Gamma were allowed inside, and even Jenny had no idea what was going on. But I wasn’t worried. I knew Riley would let me know once we had our time alone. I was relieved that at least he was moving around and discussing things rather than being stuck in one place. Not that he was not allowed to mourn Zahra, but I didn’t want him to feel that he hadn’t made Zahra happy, because I knew that even in the short ti
