Chapter 48 - A Suspicious Visitor

2024-10-29 19:42:56I can't believe Alexander was right. Skyler isn't the shy little wolf that I saved from the abuse of her father. The years with Elijah and Nathan by her side have brought the Skyler, that should have been to the surface and she is shining in her Luna role. After my confrontation with Skyler about her celebration and she stormed out, I felt so stupid because she was right.
She had put a lot of work into organising this celebration and to have so many Alphas agreeing to come and her accepting them within a certain distance of her is an accomplishment in itself, especially with how scared she used to be of Alpha's in general including us.
I decide to go and see Alexander once again. When I get to his office, I knock on the doorframe. He looks up and smiles as he says,

ALPHA CHRISTOPHER I knock and enter the Mason Alpha office. I am surprised to see that all 3 Mason Alpha's are there. I was only expecting 2 of them. There was, however, a difference in what was their rank. Alpha Elijah seems to be the one at the top now as he sits at the desk with Alpha Nathan on his right and Alpha Cole on his left. Something massive must have happened to change the order of power amongst them. ALEXANDER'S POV Cole has been spending a lot of time in the barracks and in the training fields. I watch him as he moves around the recruits and smile. It is something that he used to love doing, but in his position as oldest of his brothers, his Alpha duties always came before anything else. Since he has come back, I have noticed that he misses those duties as he hasn't been able to do them. He, however, has been really helpful around here with the recruit training and keeping the security patrols up to date and always changing. As I had said to him when he questioned me after I had rescued Skyler from her father, I didn't like what he did to her, but he is still one of my Alpha's. So when he approached me and said he had found one of the spies I have been looking for, I couldn't, not believe him. I had laughed to myself when he said he was going to get Skyler to cancel the New Moon celebration. She has done it every new moon for the past 3 years.

ALEXANDER'S POV Much to Skyler's disappointment, I ended up having to tell all 3 of them what happened as they wanted to know why there were guards and patrols so close to the Alpha house and I was not going to lie to them. COLE'S POV I am sitting in the packhouse office with both Elijah and Nathan as we try to work out how someone could have put silver into Skyler's drinks. We ended up having everything in the Alpha house tested, thrown out and replaced. INTRUDER'S POV I was surprised when I got the call from Alpha Chris. He saved my life even after he knew what I was and why I had infiltrated his pack. ALEXANDER'S POV I slowly fight my way out of the darkness. I try to move but find my wrists bound and so are my ankles and where ever I am lying; I am on my side and it's cold. Since I can't reach anyone through the pack link, I fight the heaviness in my eyes and force them open.
