THREE

SERAPHINA'S POV 

I turned to run but had both of them in front of me within a second, I stepped back slowly, fear snaking its way down my spine. I can't fight them and Lilith is just too weak to give me any help, I need more rest and maybe some decent food but I am in dangerous territory. My fear is now slowly changing to pure terror, I have no where to go and no way out, my back hits the wall behind me. I slide down the wall and whisper "Please! Please! Don't hurt me, I didn't mean to intrude, Please let me go." tears are now falling down my cheeks and I hide my face to try and hide my weakness.

"Hey! Hey! Its okay, we wont hurt you." the female voice said as she slowly got closer

She carefully put her fingers under my chin and makes me look up at her, she gasps

"Seraphina?"

"Amilia???" I sob

"What are you doing here?"

"I don't know! All I remember is being attacked by a vampire, then saved by a mystery guy in a black cape and then waking up in a room full of black and gold upstairs."

She gasps again "That sounds like my brothers room. Sebastian? Do you know anything about this?"

"All I know, Josephine! Is that your brother called us the other night saying he, no sorry Caleb had killed a rogue vampire and that he needed clean up and a car. We saw something in his arms but he was really protective of it, we didn't even know it was a girl until he asked for the doctor. Wait you know her?" Seb sighs leaning against the wall a few feet away.

"Yes! Sera, how long have you been in the city?"

"Before the attack about 2 and a half weeks."

"Humm! Jose, your brother has been acting really strange for the last 2 weeks, sneaking out without protection, hunting on his own and he's just been plain irritable, well more then normal. And Caleb has been coming to the front a lot more often as well."

"Bass do you think he has found what mother and father had?"

"Its hard to say! But if she is his, then I'm afraid she has her work cut out for her" Sebastian laughed

"Amilia? What are you talking about?"

"Sera being a werewolf you know about mates right?"

"She's a werewolf, shit!!" Sebastian mumbles under his breath

"Yes, I did pick some of that up on my travels."

"Well its rare but us vampires have mates too, I did a lot of research into it. For a female vampire it is a little easier but for a male and his mate it is a lot harder."

"Why?"

"Well a male vampire has a frozen heart and the mate needs to thaw that heart to allow the mate bond to really take affect." Josephine explains

"You think I'm your brothers mate? I can't even ask Lilith."

"Yes I do. Why cant you talk to Lilith?"

"Who's Lilith?" Seb pipes up from across from us

"Lilith is my wolf, she is really weak as a result of the attack and that I haven't been able to eat properly for a very long time." Just then my stomach growls

"Sera When was the last time you ate some real food?"

"Umm.... I'm not sure, maybe a week or so, but then I don't know how long I have been here for?"

"You have been here for about a week and a half. The doc has been keeping you with us with that IV you removed." Sebastian informed.

"So that would make it nearly 3 weeks give or take."

"Come on lets get you something to eat." Amilia says as she helps me to my feet.

"Thank you!"

All three of us walk to the kitchen, it was empty of people. Amilia made me sit at the counter while she rummaged through the fridge.

"Amilia? Why did he call you Josephine?"

"Because that is my actual name, when I'm not home I use Amilia, its my middle name. Then no-one can tie me to my brother if I don't want them to." she answered as she pulled out a container of some type of stew.

"What do you want me to call you now?"

"You can call me either. I don't mind."

Amilia.. I mean Josephine, I haven't decided which to call her yet. Anyway she heated up the stew and placed it in front of me, I finished it within a few minutes. Both Josephine and Sebastian laugh and heat up some more for me, I feel a lot better after eating.

"So what do we do now?"

"How about we have a movie marathon?"

"Are you sure I'm not intruding?"

"No of course not, it will good to catch up with you."

"Okay, a movie marathon sounds great, I haven't been able to do that since I saw you last time."

"Wow! That was a while ago, have you been running for that long again?"

"Yep, after I left you those hunters Zachary and Whytt got really close so I had to keep moving. I was just about to move on when the attack happened, they were getting closer again. On that note I will have to get moving again soon, so that they don't find you."

Sebastian looked at me with concern but didn't say anything, just made his way with us to the theatre room. It was fun we set up some makeshift beds in the theatre room and spent the next 3 days watching movies and catching up on what has happened over the years that we last saw each other. We didn't see much of Sebastian except for the odd time he stuck his head in to make sure we were still alive.

In just those few days the color had returned to my skin, my hair was back to its bright red, my eyes were no longer dull but had a little life in them and I had started to put on weight again. I was starting to feel like a real person again and Lilith was loving it, she has never really been this healthy.

"Josephine?" I decided that her proper name was better.

"Yeah Sera" she answers with a yawn

"Is it okay if I go outside and give Lilith a run?"

"You can't by yourself, the guards might think you are trespassing." she laughed and so did I, then she continued "If you give me a minute I will put my workout gear on and we both can have a run."

"Um.... Do you have a dress I can borrow? Or maybe some shorts and a shirt?"

"Sure, come with me, you can have one of my dresses I don't wear anymore."

We went up to her room and into her closet, she threw me a light purple sundress. I went into her bathroom and got changed while she stayed in her closet. We both came out at the same time, we laughed as we bumped into each other. We made our way back down stairs to head out the back door. We see Sebastian in the back yard, he was doing some simple sparing by himself.

"Hi Seb, we are going for a run, did you want to join us?"

"I've already had my run today."

"What's wrong? Are you scared that a wolf will run circles around you?" I laughed, testing if there is a chance that we might be able to be friends.

"No way would you be able to do that. I'm ready when you girls are."

I laughed again and made my way over to the tree line.

"Wait? Where are you going?" Sebastian asks with a little concern in his voice

"She is a wolf Seb, she isn't going to shift in front of you, especially since she has to remove her clothes first." Josephine answered for me with a laugh

Sebastian blushed and turned his back to me for added privacy. I stepped behind a tree removed the sundress and my undergarments and then shifted. I moved out from behind the tree stretched and shook out my fur. Sebastian gasped as I walked over to them, Josephine just smiled, kneeled down and ran her fingers through my thick fur. Even Lilith's fur hasn't been this healthy for a very long time, she lent near my ear and whispered "Sera, you ready to go?"

I nod my wolf head and we both take off running, I glance back to see a shocked look on Sebastian's face before he starts running to catch up with us. I laughed and allowed Lilith to take over, I knew she wouldn't hurt any of them, they were our friends.

After a while we came across a small lake, I went to the edge and took a drink. I laid down not far from the water and waited, it wasn't long before both Sebastian and Josephine came out of the woods and joined me by the water.

"Man!! Girl, you definitely can run, I won't underestimate you again." Sebastian puffs out surprised

Once they had a some water as well, we played in the small clearing around the lake. I would chase and jump on them and then they would chase me, it was like we were playing tag. I haven't had this much fun since I was 8.

It was getting dark quickly, so after one more drink and a quick splash in the lake, we headed back to the castle. I still couldn't believe I was staying in an actual castle, I thought Josephine was kidding when she first told me until she took me out the front to prove it. When we got back I went behind the tree, shifted and come back out wearing the sundress again.

"Did you enjoy the run?" I smiled as I approached and we headed inside.

"Yes that was good, you are fast. I won't underestimate you again. Its been a while since even I have had that much fun, how about you Jose?" I blush as he again gives me a complement

"Yep! Its been hard lately to do anything fun. Maybe now he will chill out just a little." she laughs and Sebastian just nods.

"Jose? Is it okay if I use your bathroom to shower?"

"Sure, if you look in the closet you should be able to find some pyjama shorts and tops, that should fit you."

"Thanks. See you in a bit."

I had a shower, found the pyjamas she was talking about and headed back to the theatre room. I wasn't sure if I was allowed back in the room I originally woke up in, so I thought I would watch another movie and get some sleep in there.
