chapter four

Brian Pov 

 I looked at Thorn and I knew he was in pain but he was taking it out on the wrong people. I watched Georgina and saw evil in her eyes. She was different and not the same girl I had grown up with. 

 The hall was quiet and nobody said anything. 

 " Now back to why we are here." Thorn said,taking a seat on his father's throne. " She killed my father and I have the evidence to show you all. Get that off my sight!" he roared as the guards walked in to clear the carcass of the dead elders. 

 " What do you want to do,Alpha Thorn?" Another elder asked from the crowd. " It looks like you made up your mind anyways." 

 " My best friend here was with her all through the night before she disappeared. I am sure she wanted to kill the Alpha and rule the kingdom." Thor said with disdain in my voice 

 " We follow the rules. Anyone who kills a member of the pack must die!" Elder Hardy said looking at me 

 Georgina walked toward him and said some words into his ears. 

 I wonder why Thorn wasn't thinking, it was unlike him to follow every single word from Georgina. Something was wrong,off. But I don't have enough time to figure out what. I knew Lyla was innocent but I don't have time to prove it.

 Elder Hardy was Georgina's father, I knew he wanted to become the Alpha and with his daughter getting married to Thorn, it was becoming easier. 

 " Bring the prisoner here." Thorn declared 

 I walked out of sight to get Lyla. My mind,racing on what to do and how to prove her innocence. 

 For some reason, I knew down inside my gut that she was innocent. I walked closer to the dark cell and I saw her lying down on the cold floor, looking pale. 

 Lyla flinched as she looked up to see my face. " Brian, what do I do? Does Thorn believe me now?" She asked slowly 

 " We don't have time for any of this, Lyla. I know you are innocent but we need proof. I think Georgina is behind all of this and she wants you gone. Do you remember anything about any of this?" 

 Lyla scratched her head, " I don't...one minute I was drinking with her and her friends and the next,I was in the pool of blood." 

 " I am sorry but Thorn wants you dead and I don't see you getting out of this alive." I said truthfully 

 Lyla burst into tears. " I don't want to die. Please save me!" She clenched my clothes.

 I pitied her, It was her words against Thorn and Georgina who wanted her spot as the Luna. " I am going to divert the guards. You run when I ask you too." I said,opening the cell. 

 I went back and killed the guards making sure there's no one to tell Thorn what I had done. " Now!" I quickly shout to Lyla but I heard a bang at the back of my head. 

 As I felt drowsy, I saw a figure standing before me with a wide grin. 

 My eyes flicked open and I felt myself stiffened. I looked at my body and I saw I was tied to Lyla. " What is this?" I shouted looking at Thorn who sat down enjoying the show. 

 " You tried to release the woman who killed my father. He was your father too,Brian just not by birth. I can't believe you will dishonour is memory like this." Thorn shouted with anger 

 " Dishonor? Did I hear you say that? You didn't give Lyla a chance to defend herself,you are fucking your best friend who isn't even your mate and you dare talk about dishonour." I shouted back at him 

 I knew I was out of place, Alpha Thorn was fierce. He turned me and I could feel his rage most time. Thorn stood up from his seat, his muscles catching the ray of the sun that penetrated through the unthatched roof top. 

 " Since you are so willing to die to proof her innocence then I am going to grant your wish." 

 I knew we share a bond and I believe Thorn won't be so quick to severe the bond between an alpha and his beta but with the way things was unfolding,my heart was beating fast against my chest. " You need to give her a chance and for a second stop listening to her words." I pointed at Georgina who was seated beside Thorn's seat, already claiming the post of the Luna. 

 " Since we are on this topic,I have an announcement to make." Thorn said,walking back into the midst of the elders. They all looked at him, none could challenge him. Not after what happened. " She killed my father and she has to die." 

 " No, I didn't. Please belive me,Thorn. I would never do that. She did." Lyla's voiced at the top of her voice 

 Thorn dropped the knife on the table and it was proven that Lyla's fingerprint was all over it. 

The elders immediately gathered and talked. I looked at them and knew what the outcome would be. "Brace yourself, Lyla," I said with a sad voice. 

"TThe judgment is death," Elder Hardy proclaimed. I looked at Georgina, and I saw her smile. 

 " I Alpha Thorn of the silver moon pack here reject you, Lyla Henderson as my mate and sentence you to death." Thorn said without mercy. 

 " Please, Thorn. I have loved you. Give me time to prove my innocence." Lyla pleaded as a sword was raised up to her face. The sound of the thud was all I heard as her head came rolling down to my feet. 

 " With that settled, shall we move forward with my coronation?"Thorn said slowly walking back to his seat. " What about him?" Georgina said in anger. "He wanted your father's killer released." 

 Thorn looked back at me and I could see the look I haven't seen in a long time. My friend was gone and all that was left was a monster. I knew what he was going to say as that moment al I heard was the muffled noise of the elders. Some trying to save him while others..god knows what they were talking about. The last statement I heard sent chills down my body 

 And with my breath held, I felt my head slowly detached from my body.
