Alexandra's pov
'Who are you?' I completely Ignored Adrian who was hovering around me as I texted the stranger, feeling my heart pounding in my chest, my breath growing raspier by the second.
Okay I know I said I was beginning to hate Grandpa, but there was still this part of me that loved him greatly.
I was neglected as a child by my parents who were workaholics, always striving to beat the Sinclairs and build an empire which was capable of taking them down, thus I was always with Grandpa.
He would play with me and even go through all the trouble of picking me up from school, visiting with gifts- I even preferred living with him than my parents and would always run there when my parents yelled at me or when they forgot my birthday, you know, they were jerks. And it seems like they would never change.
I was shaking as I waited for a reply. Grandpa was sick and had been responding to treatment from a nurse named Aisha. If someone had really infiltrated the mansion, he was in trouble.
I have to drive down there. However, just as I placed my phone in my purse and attempted to step forward in just a single second, I gasped when something clamped around my wrist and pulled me back, and I felt my chest land on something as hard as a brick.
"Adrian let me go. I have to leave." I struggled, narrowing my eyes at him as I struggled again, wondering If his hand was metal- It barely budged.
"I finally got your attention? Good. Now tell me what's going on."
"Ugh!" Veins popped up at the side of my head as I tried another round of futile struggling which only made my wrist hurt. "You realize there could be paparazzi around right? You want them telling the whole world that Miss Bennett's husband to be is a fucked up Caviar eating molester?"
His brows pulled down into a frown before he released me and I bit my lip, wincing as I rubbed my sore wrists.
"We haven't even married and you're already keeping things from me," I scoffed but he continued. "I saw your face pale when you watched something on your phone. Tell me, are you in trouble? What's wrong?"
"It isn't any of your business." I snapped at him, but when his brows pulled into a frown, I managed a forced smile before I curtsied in mock respect. "It was a pleasure having lunch with you Mr. Sinclair, but you'll have to excuse me."
Without waiting for him to say a word or even attempt to pull me back again, I dashed off and hopped into my car, feeling my breathing escalate to an uncontrollable beat, racing as I grabbed my phone when I heard a notification of a text.
'Your worst nightmare.'
My face paled even further. This looked like a threat - no. It is a threat, and this guy meant more than harm.
I looked out the window to see Adrian still standing there, but this time, he's looking at his phone, a deep dark frown on his gorgeous face. Without so much as a glance at me, he turns and walks away.
Odd.
I don't even bother to text the asshole stranger as I hit the pedals and go zooming off to my grandpa's house, dialing my mother.
"Honey. Irene Informed us you were heading out. Are you perhaps with Mr. Sinclair? Oh sweetheart I'm so happy you're trying to… "
"Mum, where are you?" I cut in, not in the mood to listen to her ravering.
"I'm home," I sighed and she spoke up again. "Don't tell me you're driving. You know what I said about driving while calling. Every Time I… "
"Mum, I think grandpa's in trouble." My voice was frantic and I swallowed hard as I dropped the bombshell.
"Don't be ridiculous. And who would even want to harm him? He's been bedridden for weeks now."
"I don't know," I silently cursed as I sped past the traffic, missing the cops at the side of the road by a hair's breadth. "Anybody. The Sinclairs…"
"Sweetheart I'm currently entertaining a few visitors of mine so If you can just stop being ridiculous, I'd appreciate that very much. Besides, why would you think the Sinclairs would want to harm him?"
"Mum, call grandpa's hospital and inquire about Nurse Aisha immediately. Someone just sent me a picture. Whoever it is had access into grandpa's home and only Nurse Aisha is capable of getting access asides us."
"This is ridiculous. Did you drink again?"
"Mum!"
"Fine. I'll call the hospital." She sounded sour- like the idea of me interrupting her and her guests for something important was absurd. Typical.
With that, I hung up and tried calling grandpa. My fears were confirmed as he didn't pick after several trials, but soon enough, it finally rang up and someone picked up.
My car came to a screeching halt and I could hear curses and horns as the cars behind me took the other side of the road while I just sat there, my heart beating as I placed the phone to my ear.
"Grandpa? Oh my God grandpa you don't know how worried I was when… "
"Your Grandpa is currently fighting for his life now," the deep dark voice of a man sent a cold chilling feeling through me, rendering me frozen on the spot. As If that wasn't enough, in the background I could hear the unmistakable sound of my grandpa gurgling like he was choking on something. "I suggest you come here before It's too late."
"Grandpa!" I suddenly grinded my teeth and squeezed my phone in my grip. "You bastard! Who do you think you are? Who are you?"
His chuckle sent shivers running down my spine. But the more the dreadful feeling settled inside of me, the more angry I became.
"Why don't you come and find out, Penelope."
My face paled and for a second, I felt a nauseous feeling rising in the pit of my stomach.
That name… I haven't heard it in years. Who was this person?
"T- that's not my name." My voice was shaky as my grip on the phone tightened hearing my grandpa struggling for his life in the background.
"Oh? Interesting, and here I was thinking you weren't a complete liar." His voice was so lazy, his tone calm and serene, the deepness and causality sexy yet dangerous, like someone wasn't fighting for his life.
"Who are you!?" I screamed.
Alexandra's pov The sound of him hanging up echoed in the car for a few seconds before I finally let the phone slowly slide down my ear, staring into space. Penelope. That name sounded so familiar yet so foreign in my ears. It's like I've heard about it before. But had it really been my name? The same sick feeling rose up in my stomach and before I could stop myself, I pushed my car door wide open and threw my head out, puking so hard my stomach hurt and tears grew in my eyes. As I was wiping my lips, I turned on my ignition and began speeding to my grandpa's place. Mum was yet to call, so I called back and the fake, high pitched laughter of those fake bitches she called her friends caused me to roll my eyes. "Oh sweetheart. Is something wrong?" "We literally spoke a few minutes ago." I reminded her, growing angry by the second. She wasn't even taking this seriously. I badly wanted to lash out at her, but she could hang up on me and I didn't want that because I really neede
Alexandra's pov The siren of the police cars littered around my grandpa's - late grandpa's compound drowned down the sound of the ambulance siren leading my grandpa's headless body to the morgue. I was just standing there, my clothes covered in blood from when I had dropped to my knees earlier on seeing my beheaded grandpa from the ceiling, my hair was pulled back from my face in a rough ponytail and I had a blank expression on my face as I stared at the stretcher which the medical staff pulled out with the dead guards and workers lying on every one of them, a white sheet spread atop their corpse. The cops were presently interrogating Nurse Aisha who looked a bit intimidated as they kept demanding one question or the other. Without a doubt, I knew she would still be taken for questioning at the station. She was the only witness to the murder of one of the largest, popular, well known tycoon and ex-owner of Liss Real Estate- so It was a big deal. An hour ago, when I was certai
Alexandra's pov The maids all stared at me like I was crazy as I stepped out of my car like a hysterical mad woman after I had sped into Adrian's compound. "Isn't that Miss Bennett?" "What is she doing here?" "Does she realize she's at Adrian Sinclair's house?" "Are you dunce or didn't you hear they were engaged few days ago?" "She's so shameless. It's barely been a week and I'm sure she already wants to consumate the relationship." Whispers and murmurs of the maids who couldn't mind their business travelled around, but they all kept hush when I approached them. I looked frantic like I was running from someone. "Where is he? Which hospital is he in?" They all looked at me with contempt and confusion. I could see they didn't like me. "Can't you hear me? What hospital was he admitted in? He informed me he was dying, so I would like to know where Mr. Sinclair was admitted?" "Miss Bennett what are you talking about?" One of the maids mustered up to ask me. I could fe
"You have the size of a pea for a brain, you wouldn't understand even If I broke it down. I'm not surprised you could even stoop that low Adrian. You're truly a Sinclair. Like why would even about something as serious as dying? Do you think it's something you can play around with?" I was so angry right now, and he could clearly see It when he turned. Some seconds passed before he finally sighed. "I'm sorry." I was taken aback. It was brief and I could tell he half heartedly didn't mean it but I didn't expect he'd even apologize in the first place. "I heard about your grandpa and I really wanted us to talk because of you were behavior strange earlier and then I knew you weren't going to listen to me If I told you I wanted us to see, so I had to… " "Tell me you were dying? That was the best solution possible? You knew my grandpa died and you had the audacity to lie to me about dying?" Before he could say a word, I closed my eyes, took a deep breath and tried to calm downz but all
Alexandra’s POVI visibly froze as blood quickly rose up to my cheeks.Great. He noticed it and almost immediately, a smirk appeared on his face.“You’re going to need more than that to seduce me, Alexandra. But A for effort, I-“ Adrian started to tease but I slammed the door in his face before he could finish his bullshit.“Great job Alexandra, you’ve successfully embarrassed yourself…” I softly groaned while shuffling towards my bed. I could hear Adrian’s obnoxious chuckles from behind the door.In a second, I was under the covers cuddling with my pillow, firmly determined to stay there. Ear pods in and I was back to my soothing music. Too much was happening and I was slowly starting to feel overwhelmed. I had already slept for a few hours but I still didn’t feel well-rested. I stared into space for a moment before I closed my eyes.Penelope.A name I had long forgotten but now couldn’t think of anything else than it. Questions swerved in my head as the music couldn’t distract me f
Alexandra’s POV“When he had placed me in here, I bit him hard…”Nurse Aisha said she bit the culprit, which meant that all I had to do was find a man with teeth marks on his hand at my wedding.I stared at Adrian’s hand, a bad feeling swelling up. Why is he suddenly wearing a glove? I don’t remember him ever wearing one before. After my grandpa’s death he suddenly...He seemed to have noticed my mood and stopped his previous attempt. After seeing my attention was on his gloved hand, he frowned lightly. “You…Why are you wearing a glove?” I asked, pushing him away, well, I tried too. I pushed but he didn’t budge. This man and his gorilla strength.“Move.”He didn’t respond, only staring at me. The mood was already ruined and I just wanted him far away from me.“Mr. Sinclair, please move,” I growled. Adrian was momentarily stunned but he quickly regained his continence. His frown deepened and he moved away. He stood from my bed. I quickly gathered my covers to my chest and I stared a
Alexandra’s POVAnna is my father’s younger brother’s child. The only child, just like me. We both basically grew up together. Both our parents were busy with work, so we usually spent time together at grandpa’s place. We looked a lot alike, only, I was a little shorter and slimmer than she was. And I had my freckles. We often fought as children, usually for my grandpa’s attention but I always won. My grandpa loved me the most and Anna was obviously jealous of me.Our little feud stopped being little when we got up. This time Anna started to steal things from me. I had all I needed, what could she possibly take? The answer was, My friends. She always found a way to steal my friends. She’d integrate into my circle and throw me out of it. Not just friends, lovers too, and even jobs. I’ve only ever had one boyfriend before and she stole him from me. Who knows how she pulled it off. My relationship with the boy didn’t even last a week. The case of jobs was even more ridiculous because my
Alexandra’s POVThere was complete silence in the air. Which wasn’t surprising. I was too numb to speak, Adrian looked too surprised and Anna looked delighted, as if she had just fulfilled her life long goal. She probably thought I would be devastated by the outcome.Well, it's time to give her a slap in the face. Not physically though, I would not waste my strength on that.Adrian and I didn’t have an actual relationship. It was just based on a contract. As long as our private lives do not end up on the internet, then we would be fine. We were not actual lovers. A reaffirmation. For my heart.I silently wondered what would have happened if I had not come. I decided to take a walk to clear my head or at least distract myself from my stupid thoughts. I honestly did not expect to witness this…scene. I had no idea what to call it.“Mr. Sinclair, this…” I started but could not continue. I did not know what to say. If they were truly in such a relationship, would anything I say matter? I w
Narrator's POVTears streamed down Alexandra's face as she clutched her mother's hand, her voice trembling.I can't believe this is happening, mom. We have to do everything we can to bring our baby home."Adrian, determined to do whatever it took to ensure his child's safe return, paced back and forth in the room. Suddenly, his phone buzzed with an incoming call. With apprehension etched on his face, Adrian answered the call. The voice on the other end was cold and demanding; it was no other person than their sworn enemy, Penelope Castle.Adrian, listen carefully. If you ever want to see your baby again, you will bring fifty million dollars to the abandoned warehouse by midnight tomorrow."Adrian clenched his jaw, his eyes flashing with determination. "I want proof that my baby is alive and well before I hand over that kind of money."There was a brief pause, and then she responded, "You will receive a photo of your baby in a few hours. Be ready to deliver the money as instructed. If y
Oliver's POVThe private jet glided smoothly through the clear blue skies as it made its landing onto the runway of the private airport. Inside the luxurious cabin, Alexandra sat comfortably in a plush leather seat, her eyes fixed on the window as the Italian countryside transformed into familiar surroundings. After a long stay in Italy, Alex was finally returning home with her newborn child. The past few weeks had been a whirlwind of emotions as she navigated the rollercoaster of motherhood, aided by her mother and the faithful bodyguards who had accompanied her on this journey. As the plane touched down, the engines roared to a halt, and the door of the cabin opened. Alex emerged, adorned in a stylish yet understated outfit befitting her status as a billionaire's wife. Her mother, a wise and affectionate woman, followed closely behind, carrying the precious bundle in her arms.Stepping out, she felt a rush of emotions. She hadn't seen her home for what felt like an eternity, and the
Narrator's POVIn the center of the lavishly decorated nursery, a towering figure stood, his tailored suit contrasting against the delicate innocence cradled in his arms with tenderness and protectiveness. With every beat of his heart, Adrian felt an overwhelming surge of love as he gazed down at his daughter. Her tiny fingers wrapped around one of his, and their connection was instantaneous. The weight of the world seemed to disappear as he held her close, her soft breaths becoming a melody in his ears.As he looked down at her tiny face, a smile beamed across Adrian's face. He marveled at her delicately soft skin and the faint tufts of hair that crowned her head. The room seemed to hold its breath, awestruck by the purity and innocence of the moment."You are my little princess, Ava," Adrian whispered, his voice filled with awe and unconditional love. "I promise you, my precious angel, that I will give you everything you could ever need or want in this world."As Ava cooed in respon
Narrator's POVThe room was dimly lit, with only a small lamp providing some light in the corner. The sound of medical equipment beeping could be heard faintly in the background, and the scent of disinfectant hung in the air. In the center of the room was a hospital bed with stirrups on either side.Lying on the bed, in the grip of labor pains, was Alexandra. Her long hair was plastered to her forehead with sweat, and her eyes were squeezed tightly. Her husband, Adrian, stood beside her, holding her hand tightly and whispering words of encouragement. Sweat trickled down her forehead, her hands tightly clasping her husband's, seeking comfort and support."You're doing great, my love," he said, watching her struggle through another contraction.Alex let out a groan, and her body tensed as the pain surged through her. The doctor and his assistants were hurrying around the room, checking machines, and preparing for the delivery. As the contractions intensified, Alex's grip on Adrian's han
Adrian's POVAs I made my way to the kitchen to fetch a glass of water for Alexandra, I couldn't shake off the worry that had clouded my mind. She had been feeling dizzy earlier, and I hoped that a simple glass of water would provide her some relief. As I entered the kitchen, I noticed that Alexandra was talking intimately with her mother in the living room. I couldn't help but eavesdrop on their conversation as I filled the glass with water."I've made a decision, Mom. Alexandra's voice reached my ears, somewhat muffled from the distance. "I'm going to Italy to have the baby, and, Mom, I really want you to come with me. Will you be there?"A wave of relief washed over me as I held the full glass of water in my hands. Knowing that Alexandra wouldn't be undertaking this journey alone brought a certain sense of comfort to my heart. I had been planning on visiting Italy for the baby's birth, wanting to be there to support Alexandra every step of the way.Quietly walking towards the livin
Alexandra’s POVI had always known Adrian was not a saint, but I did not expect him to be deep in this sh*t, which was quite scary. I know he only kidnapped Penelope for my sake, but I did not approve. I did not sign up for all this violent shit, and now Penelope wants to have her revenge. After what she did to Katrina, she should have just accepted what Adrian did to her as karma. I hated Penelope with all of my heart, but I could not bring myself to wish her death. If she was going to be a threat to my child, then I would probably kill her myself.Consumed in my thoughts, I heard the familiar sound of my phone ringing on the other end. I picked it up to check on the caller, and it turned out to be my mom. Wondering why she was calling when it was really late, I hesitated no further as I picked up the phone.I reached for my phone and saw my mother’s name displayed on the screen. Confusion and concern filled my heart as I hastily answered the call. “Mom? What is wrong?” I asked, my v
Narrator's POVAlexandra walked down the stairs, clad in a silk robe, and felt a pleasant sense of calm after a good and long sleep as soon as she got back from the hospital. As she made her way to the kitchen, she noticed something out of the ordinary—unknown bodyguards stationed strategically at every corner of the house. Her curiosity raised, she approached her personal bodyguard, Emily, who stood by the entrance of the kitchen."Emily, what is happening? Why are there so many guards here today?" She asked, her eyes scanning the room, searching for answers.Emily, with a serious expression, looked at her with a mixture of concern and reassurance. "Mrs. Sinclair, it is your husband's orders. He wants to ensure your safety and the security of this place."Alex's heart skips a beat; she had never seen so many guards in their home at once. Her mind raced with thoughts, unsure of what might be happening outside their well-guarded walls."Is something going on?" she asked, a hint of worr

Adrian’s POVAs soon as Alexandra’s mother came rushing in, I excused myself and headed to the restroom, hoping to clear my thoughts. As I stood in front of the mirror, staring at my reflection, guilt washed over me.Was it the right thing to do? …. Did I add unnecessary worry and stress to an already difficult situation? I told the boys to get rid of her, and they never disappointed. What if Alexandra really saw Penelope?“Shit,” I say to myself silently, as these thoughts really weigh heavily on my mind.Taking a deep breath, I remind myself that my intentions were rooted in love and concern for Alex and her well-being.I decided to call Vado to confirm my order has been done. I dial the number, the anticipation building with each ring. Finally, a voice answered on the other end,"Hello?" It was Vado, my most trusted henchman."Vado, I need to know if the order has been executed," I said, my voice composed but laced with a trace of concern. There was a brief moment of silence before
