CHAPTER 6

The doctor explained Mrs williams’ situation to Ryan calmly.

Ryan heaved a sigh of relief

“ She will be transferred from the emergency ward to the female ward very soon as she is stable now,” the doctor added.

Ryan nodded and the doctor left.

A nurse approached Ryan and asked for the details of Mrs Williams, Ryan provided her with the details and that of himself.

In about half an hour Mrs Williams was transferred to the female ward.

Ryan stayed beside her in a chair until he slept off from tiredness.

Around 3am the next day, Ryan was awakened by a noise he heard. He opened his eyes to see Mrs Williams awake and looking at him.

“ Johnson, thank you for helping, you saved my life. I think it's morning now, you should go home and do your chores. My car key is in front of my dressing mirror, pls cook something and come with the car, `` the woman said in an appreciative tone.

Ryan was surprised by the way the woman spoke to him. On a normal day he would have spoken to him harshly and meanly. But in this instance, she spoke to him calmly. Ryan thought it was because she was I'll or because he had saved her life.

Ryan left the hospital and took a taxi home. He got home around 4am. He went inside the house and saw the Williams sisters lying drunkenly in the living room. He could smell alcohol all over the room.

He walked past them and went to Mrs Williams' room.

When he opened the door, he was greeted by a pungent smell. He frowned, and set off to work. Within two hours, he had done the laundry and the dishes, arranged the room and cleaned the washroom. He looked around him and smiled. He commended himself in his head for his good work done.

He quickly took a shower and changed into a pair of shorts and a blue t-shirt

He quickly went to the kitchen and set off to prepare Mrs Williams food.

He finished cooking within an hour and took Mrs Williams' keys. He headed downstairs to where Mrs Williams' car was parked.

When he got to the living room, the Williams sisters were still sleeping. He glanced at the wall clock and it was a quarter to eight. He left the living room and went to the garage.

He checked the engine of Mrs Williams' old Benz and made sure all things were in order, he ignited the engine and kept it running for about ten minutes before he drove off.

He set into the road and headed for the hospital.

Adriana woked up on the floor, she looked around her and realized she was not in her bedroom but the living room.

She sat down and saw her two sisters lying on the floor too. She recalled what happened the previous day but put it together.

She remembered when they left the club but not afterwards. “Well I'm in the house and I'm okay now and that's all that matters ” she thought .

She glanced at the wall clock and it was half past eight in the morning. She tapped her sisters and woke them up.

When they all became conscious of their environment, the three ladies walked lazily to their rooms.

A few minutes later, Geraldine came downstairs to the kitchen and saw that the place was in a mess. She called out to Ryan but there was no response. She ascended the stairs and went to Ryan's room. She knocked and there was no response. She opened the door, peeped in and called Ryan's name.

After she got no response, she entered and shouted Ryan's name.

She noticed the room was tidy and the bed was well laid .She got out to see Alicia in the living room. “Where is Ryan and why is the place in a mess? ” Alicia asked Geraldine

“ That is the same question I was asking you, where is Ryan?I went to his room but he is not there, so where could he be? ” Geraldine countered Alicia's question

Alicia tried to get her phone to call him but she realized she left it in Adriana's car. She got out of the living room to the garage. After taking their phones from the car she turned to leave and noticed that her mother's car was not parked in the garage.

She shrugged thinking her mother had gone out.

She entered the living room to see Geraldine and Adriana with worried looks on their faces. She enquired what was the cause and Adriana replied that Mrs Williams was not in her room. Alicia laughed “her car is not there either so maybe she has gone out” she replied laughing and eased the tension..

“ But where is Ryan? ” Geraldine asked

“ That reminds me… I was about to call him. Now y'all left your phone in the car yesterday, I went to take it” she handed over their phones to them and woke the screen of her own phone.

After opening the password she saw 15 missed calls, she chuckled “why would anyone leave me with 15 missed calls, what is so important that the person had to call 15 times” she said aloud “surprisingly I also have 14 missed calls” Geraldine said and before the words could leave her mouth Adriana exclaimed “ 20 missed calls. Who would call 20 times”

Alicia read who the caller was and said “ It's Ryan, why would he call me 15 times?What was so urgent that he decided to punish my phone?” she said and chuckled.

Just then both Adriana and Geraldine said at once,“ it's Ryan”

The three ladies looked at each other's faces and exchanged surprise glances

“ What has he done this time? Well maybe he has decided to run away or has done something bad and is hiding somewhere. Well let me call him ”

Alicia said and dialed Ryan's number.

It went through the first ring but no one answered.
