Chapter 127.

Alaric's pov.

The night was young, but it wouldn't last much longer. I had made the decision to leave the palace tonight and make my way towards the south where I had just returned from only a couple of months ago.

I didn't plan on informing Emily or my mother or anyone else. They would probably figure out that I'm gone, the only one who would know where, would've been the king.

My decision to leave this early was due to my encounter with Diana. I just couldn't understand the fear that flashed in her eyes, the scent that lingered on her skin, I couldn't erase it out of my memory.

Charles had readied the vehicle and necessary things we needed. A crowd wasn't what I wanted, if anything, I needed stealth, and so, Charles and two others were all I needed for this trip.

Using just one car, we made our way out of the palace in the dead of the night, where the moon shone brightly in the night sky.

The stars however were obstructed by dark clouds which reflected my mood as I sat

I'm guessing she already knew who we were and would be informing whoever she worked for.I wanted our visit to have been a surprise, if there were any rebels, we could catch them off guard but that plan was down the drain.“Do you want us to go after her?” Charles asked as he glanced back at me.There was no point in going after her, she should have been long gone by now. “No need,” I responded before I stepped into the room. “We leave in a few hours,” slamming the door behind me.What was I even going to do when we got to the pack? Waltz up to them and asked if they were rebels of the crown or if they knew any rebels? I scoffed, like they would tell me anything. If there were rebels, the guards that were stationed in these packs would have gotten wind of it already. They should have already started their investigations, but if that was the case, why didn't they report it to the palace yet? What did the rebel

I waited the entire day, I had visited the pavilion where we were meant to meet but she hadn't shown up. What could the king have possibly wanted to do with her on this night? I needed that flower and I had no Idea the authenticity of the flower and if it was real.I pinched the bridge of my nose before staring into the fire, at this rate it would only take me a little longer before I would have to leave the palace. They king would soon realize that I wasn't here to help him but rather, to watch his glorious downhill. If anything, I was here to hasten that process. What was I going to do now? If I couldn't see her this night, when else could I have the chance, it never really mentioned when, and I couldn't wait for too long.Pacing around in frustration wasn't

Chapter 130Diana's pov.I jerked awake, my eyes wide open in fear as I launched and sat up straight on my bed, glancing around me to make sure I was safe and that I wasn't in any form of danger. After a few seconds of making sure I was safe and alone, I wiped the sweat that gathered on my face and plastered my hair to my forehead. My chest heaved heavily as I gasped, “It was a nightmare, it was just a nightmare,” I muttered to myself trying to calm my racing heart. It might have been a nightmare, but it was just as terrifying, at the same time familiar. A dream that I had forgotten a long time ago, but it wasn't that long of a period.I was being chased down, I didn't see the figure but I knew subconsciously it was behind me, I felt it closing the distance between us. I stumbled a few times but tried not to fall in my face as that would only be the end of me.My heart was beating out of my chest as I ran through the woods, occasionally glancing over my shoulders as I screamed at the

Chapter 131.Diana's pov.I confessed which was something I was afraid of saying out loud.I feared that if I said it out loud it would only be my reality and what I had done.It still didn't change the fact that, whether or not I said it to the world or hid it at the deepest part of my heart, it would always remain the same— I had killed someone.I continued to listen to Daemon's heartbeat and felt the sense of security that surrounded me.“Tell me what happened,” he suggested in a voice as soft as a cloud. I didn't feel the pressure to rush but the willingness to speak up.I sniffed one more time as I buried myself further in his embrace, I began to narrate what had transpired the other night. How I had found out about Sarah and her crew and the existence of silver bloods and how we had snuck out of the palace to my former pack.“On our way back we were attacked.” This was the scariest part and he seemed to know as well as he placed his hand on my head and rubbed down smoothly.“The

Chapter 132.Alaric's pov.We continued to make our way deeper into the crystal Blue pack. The trees passed by so quickly. We still had at least two more packs from here to check out.I wondered if Diana was okay, I berated myself for a thought like that. She didn't care about me. Why should I be thinking about her?But at the same time I couldn't bring myself to not think about her. The moon goddess knew exactly what she was doing when she made soulmates, making them irresistible. To hebines who are able to break away from such a bond, kudos to them, to the ones who had their significant other turn away from them. I didn't know how they would feel but I could yell now that it would be horrible.I had only left the palace for a few days just for the sake of getting her out of my sight and out of my mind, but for the entire trip, all I could think about was her, as if she was here.I gritted my teeth as I remembered the foreign scent that was on her, and wondered who it could have been

Chapter 133Diana's pov.“What?” I asked in surprise as I couldn't comprehend what she had just said as I had only woken up.She drew closer to me, her eyes seemed to hold a certain fear and panic, “They know about us and I think they are on our way to my pack,” she whispered, in fear that someone might be listening.I heard correctly, but how was that possible? How did they find out about us? I threw my question out at her but she only shrugged, she was visibly worried.“What makes you so sure that they are on their way to the crescent moon pack?” I tried to doubt her claims as my worry for my mother and my brother increased.“Do you know if any rebels camp elsewhere?” She asked as I launched out of my bed and we made our way out of my room, we were running towards the palace gates. We arrived at the gates just to see the last troops being deployed out of the palace, my breath hitched in my throat as it may just be as Sarah had said. They might be making their way to our pack. As the beta, he had the job of coordinating everyone and I couldn't be a bother to him, but I wanted to know where our mother was.I was worried, what if she was still at the house? What if she hadn't heard the alarm? I had optioned to go and check on her but my brother argued against it saying she was fine and she would have heard the alarm. He needed me to stay in the pack house and be safe.He gave me a stern look and I couldn't help but listen to him. Chapter 293: A Royal End Diana’s pov The pack apparently had been silent as they waited for our return. We were bloodied, bruised, and exhausted as we arrived at the pack, carrying the injured as well as the losses we had amounted to, which was quite a number from both packs. We had won the battle but we had also lost a lot of lives in the process, was that really a win? I spotted Alaric, who might have just been waiting for us to return, running towards us before wrapping me in his arms and lifting me into the air, holding me close to him. His scent was intoxicating. I thought I would never see him again. The exhaustion had finally caught up with me and I collapsed in the safety of his arms, he pressed my hands against his chest and inhaled deeply, “I'm glad you're safe.” The sound of his voice comforted me, but at the same time made me feel guilty for what I had done back in the palace. The tears pooled at the corner of my eyes as I realized he was the last of his kind, “I'm

Chapter 292: Finally Diana's pov Karen and I met up while the others remained and watched the fire burn, leaving one after the other and not wanting to be caught as the fire spread rapidly. Karen had been thinking about it for a long time. She had wanted the werewolves to be on their own while the humans would be in their own zone and both shouldn't cross paths, “As much as I like you and you're a really good person, it's only for the best.” This I understood completely and wouldn't have had it any other way. We came to an agreement before staring at the blazing fire, it was going to burn as the size of the palace was humongous. This would also clear whatever had been killing them as we didn't want it to attach itself to us. It might have only been the lycans, but who was to say it didn't affect the locals as well? It might just be taking much longer before it attacks us. My prayer was to the moon goddess that it would wait for a very long time. The humans and the werewolves th

Taking in a large gulp of air, I laid down beside him and his twin brother. He was alright, I repeated this in my head and thanked the moon goddess for not taking him away. She had been by my side the entire time just as she had promised. After taking that log of air, before finally realizing that the room had been occupied by the others, Karen, Roy, as well as others who had followed us into battle. They stood staring back at me as I stood to my feet and helped Daniel sit up. It was quiet, save for the shuffling of feets.Being surrounded by so many people, months ago I would have been scared and shied away but now here I stood. Our mission that day was to save the humans and the werewolves from the hands of the lycans but we had done more than that.“The Lycans after witnessing the death of their king had lost all hope to fight and fled the scene,” Kar

Chapter 290: Snapped Neck Diana's povIf I remember correctly, the pendant had been manufactured by Luke's mother, the witch. Apparently, it was made specifically for Silver bloods. I didn't know the full extent of it, but having been attacked by it with the king before, it had something that made us weak.“You think that's going to hurt me?” I stared at the pendant quizzically, the king had only held it out to me when there had only been a moment of weakness and nothing more, which was the same thing that happened now.Donald chuckled, “It might not hurt you, but might keep you down enough for me to kill you.” The smirk had vanished from his face and his eyes darkened, taking a step towards me with his hands stretched out in front of him. From this distance, I could already feel the effects of the pendant. A constant ringing that got louder and louder, it felt as though the very blood that ran through my veins was boiling and I felt hot all over.My teeth gnashed against each other

His voice had changed as well as his accent. His smile morphed into the soft smile I had always known Daniel to have, but in the next second, it disappeared, there was something different. He cackled at my perplexity, “You are not Daniel, are you?” I questioned his weird behavior. He shook his head, “I didn't peg you to be really slow, Diana. Then again, it's not like you can tell the difference, can you?” “Daniel is my twin brother, bring him out boys,” he yelled out and two of the guards brought out an identical person, dragging him by the hands while his knees scraped the floors. This version of Daniel was looking bruised and battered and on the verge of death, “Allow me present to you, my younger brother, Daniel,” he triumphantly said as he walked off the dias and towards the real Daniel. They were really identical tw

Chapter 288: A Riddle?Diana's pov It was over.Standing at the highest point in the palace for everyone to see and gazing down at them as they all came to a stand still.Hughes laid with his back pressed against the earth for everyone to see that the kingdom had finally fallen.A kingdom with no king is as good as doomed, at least that's what they said but I seemed to disagree, it didn't matter if we had a king or not, what mattered was peace and equality. This was a show and the Lycans knew that they had lost the battle and the war, and it was only a matter of time before they faded away into dust. There would only be one Lycan left in the kingdom.I needed to find the queen and the princess and save them, my thoughts trailed back to Alaric. He shouldn't have to suffer the loss of being alone, as much as I hated the both of them. The queen had been nothing but spite, holding me down on her leash like I was some dog, threatening me every second she had gotten, and the princess had b

Chapter 287: Gone Is The Usurper Diana's pov.I ordered some of the men to set out and look for the survivors and lead them out of the Palace. The humans, the werewolves, as well as Beatrice and the others that had been left behind. While the rest of us would be making our way to the throne room or wherever the king was, he would have to pay for the crimes that he had committed. We moved into action, the lycans were not a force that could be reckoned with, maybe a few months ago, now they were like children in the hands of mere wolves.Fighting then wasn't the problem, as we moved as a team, but we also needed to hurry and end this as soon as possible.I ran up to the throne room where I thought he would have been but encountered two of the guards which I had to fight. After putting them down I questioned them and found that the king was in his chambers.A coward he was, slitting their throats right afterward and making my way towards his chamber. My mind was resolute, my anger const

They were most likely captured and we have to do whatever we can to get them out, as well as your sister.” Helene sniffed and cleared up her nostrils, “I see you've finally met Beatrice.”I nodded, “We had already met quite several times, we need to storm the castle with whatever we have, but first I need to help him get stable.” They all stared at me with looks of determination, Alaric came up from behind me, his hands circling a

But after watching her go through the lycans as though they were mere dolls, I couldn't have been more proud. My mate was practically the strongest wolf out there and even I couldn't compare to what she could do. I thought all this while I had to protect her when she could protect herself. At least Diana and the others had been able to escape, we just needed to worry about ourselves, but I was already getting exhausted. After going head to head with at least four of the Lycans, taking a few hits here and there, my focus was lost and I received a fatal blow in the guts, which I doubled over, gasping for breath. The lycan stood over me as I raised my head to look him in the eye, a smirk sat on his lips as he knew he had the advantage now.
