Brandon crashed his knees on the floor as soon as Ferdinand was dragged away, his strength failing him at the point when he needed it mostly. He was panting heavily as he struggled to catch and steady his breath.

“You did well, uncle Brandon.” Ciara commended him with a small smile on her face. “I was thinking you would lose to uncle Ferdinand since he's much younger than you are, but he turns out to be weaker instead —I'm amazed at your prowess, uncle.”

If Brandon had tried to be more attentive or observing, he would have noticed the sarcasm laced in her voice when she praised him, but Brandon, on the other hand, was feeling proud of himself and patiently waiting for his stomach to be filled up in no time.

Brandon forced out an impressive smile, seeing this as an opportunity to seek Ciara's good side. “I always hit the gym when I was younger, I'm this good because I mostly get involved in fights and I defend my brothers too when they are being cross laid.” He uttered in response, sti

The fear in her uncle's eyes was palpable, and Ciara took a certain satisfaction in the fact that she was finally controlling the situation. The tables had turned, and now she was the one calling the shots. She was savoring every moment of it.“Your promises mean nothing to me, Uncle,” Ciara said, her voice as cold as ice. “All I care about is the fact that you've broken my trust and the trust of my father, who trusted you above all else. And now you're going to tell me where that information is, or you'll face the consequences. Do you understand?”Brandon's face was now a mask of terror, that's the least of all things that he'll give up. If any of them managed to survive her wrath, the information Sheila provided about the company would surely be used against her —why would he give up such?“I can't…" He said, his voice little more than a whisper. “Please, I beg you. I'll do anything you want, just please don't make me tell you.”“You have two choices.” Ciara said, her voice calm and

“No!” Ciara told her almost immediately. “You aren't on a permanent leave, I'll just leave you to take a break until I'm able to sort everything out.”Sheila wasn't happy with the thought of taking a break from her work, but she was left with no choice to it. She made a grave mistake, and she couldn't deny it, if Brandon had taken a brutal step against the company with the information she foolishly offered him, then it's the end —and it'll all be on her.In as much as she wants to be selfish and keep her job and position in the company, Sheila could only hope Ciara's concluded decision was letting her go forever —she's only being considerate by letting her on a leave.“I really don't want to leave, ma'am, but it's only right that I pay for my mistakes.” She uttered in agreement. “I don't know how long this would last, I'll assure you that on any judgement you come up with later on, I'm ready to accept and trust your judgement with no two minds on it.”“I know, Sheila…" Ciara enunciate

As Ciara walked into the empty house, she noticed that Gerald was still at the same spot she had left him that morning, his usual Stoic demeanor replaced by a look of concern.“You're home early…" He said, his voice quiet but audible enough to Ciara's hearing, “Is everything okay?”Ciara paused, her brow furrowed. “I just needed to get out of the office.” She said, avoiding his gaze, and walked past him to take the only couch in the middle of the large room. “I needed a change of scenery.”Gerald didn't seem convinced, and he studied her closely. This wasn't the mood she had left with earlier that morning, in fact, she left full of life as if that were something vital that she had to do at work and was feeling enthusiastic about. But now, her face is only saying a different thing entirely.“You know you can talk to me, right?” he said, his tone gentler than usual. “Did something awful happen at work today? Ciara walked into the room, her heels clicking on the hardwood floor. The room was dimly lit, with only a single lamp casting a circle of light in the center of the room. She took a deep breath and tried to steady her nerves. She knew what she had to do.“Hello, uncles.” She said, her voice cold and level. “I'm glad you could both make it to this level, we have a lot to discuss, but it doesn't matter anymore —I'll make it a brief talk.”“What do you want from us?” Brandon asked, his voice trembling slightly, but Ferdinand remained silent, his eyes fixed on the floor. Ciara regarded them both with a steely gaze. “You had us suffered enough, what else do you want?”“I want you to pay for what you did.” She lilted, her voice hard as steel. “You both deserve to be punished for your crimes —if you are lucky, you will survive the process.”“You can't do this to us, Ciara!” Ferdinand protested, finally finding his voice. “We're family! We made a mistake, but you can't take the law into your

As Uncle Kent lay in his bed, staring at the ceiling, he heard a faint knock on the door. He sighed and rolled over, not feeling too well to answer the door, but the knocking continued with whosoever it was persistent, as it kept growing louder and more insistent. He finally decided to answer the door, even though his body ached with every movement —it wasn't even up to twelve hours since he was put away from the life monitor. When he opened the door, he saw a package on the doorstep. He frowned and looked around, but there was no one in sight, his face was squeezed into a displeased expression. He reached down and picked up the package and returned to his sickbed, turning it over in his hands. It was addressed to him, and it was sealed tight. Uncle Kent was puzzled and confused at the same time. Who would have sent him a package in the hospital? And why had they left it anonymously? He looked down at the package, considering whether to open it. He knew it could be dangerous, but his

“Wait… are you saying that uncle Ferdinand is the one who tried to have you killed?” Dwayne asked in a shaky voice, his eyes growing wide with disbelief. “That can't be true! He's a good man, I've known him for years, and he's always been kind and generous. This is all just a misunderstanding.”“Don't make excuses for him.” Ciara snapped, her tone sharp and full of anger. “I know what I saw, and I know what he did. He may have been kind and generous to you, but to me, he was nothing but a monster.”Suddenly, Dwayne's face shifted from shocked to furious. He stood up from his seat and glared hard at his sister. “You're lying! There's no way uncle would ever do such a thing to you, his niece. He's a good man, and would never harm anyone, let alone you!”“Oh, so you think I'm lying?” Ciara blurted out, raising an eyebrow. “Let me ask you something then. I know that the company has been struggling recently, but I believe we can turn things around.” She stated gracefully, but she was slow with her words.“Recently, as you all are aware of, I'm now a shareholder in the Lerman's company and I own the highest percentage in it; the company itself made me the executive owner.” She said and paused, her voice sharp and professional as she stares at the executives present to see their reaction. The executives were wearing a knowing expression, already aware of what she was talking about; no one seemed surprised at her new feat, seeing this, she decided to go on with her speech again. She cleared her

When Lisa walked into her office, she was surprised to find that Judas was not there. On a normal day, Judas would be the first one to greet her upon her arrival. But today, he was nowhere to be found. Lisa was confused and concerned, so she decided to call him to find out what was going on.When she pulled out her phone, she quickly dialed Judas's number. The phone rang and rang, but there was no answer after two try. She had wanted to dial the number for the third time but shrug it off, and decided to keep her phone.Just when she was about to do as thought, the phone rang, vibrating softly in her grip. She checked the caller — it was Judas. With a deep frown settling on her face, she reluctantly picked the call. "Hey..." Judas hailed dryly from the other end. "Sorry, I screened your call. I was about parking when you called so I couldn't answer the phone." "Where are you?" Lisa questioned instead, ignoring his excuses. "I just entered my office and find it empty — you aren't her

"I know what I'm saying is true, Lisa." Andy insisted, seeing the doubt in Lisa's eyes. "Since you left for Los Angeles and made me the acting chairman, my father has been pressuring me to take over the company." Andy went as far as explaining every little detail to Lisa not leaving one out of it. He went as far as telling her how Xavier left home since he refuse to dance to his tunes and even him going to apologize to his father thinking maybe he had change. Lisa was dumbfounded after listening to all what Andy had said, even though she had expected those cunning men not to back away easily. The one she mostly find hard to believe was Xavier cutting ties with his son over his petty greed but since it's coming out from Andy's mouth, she has no other choice than to believe it. "— I shouldn't be saying this, but I can't let them hurt you. I've watched you grown up and I see how kind and considerate you've been..." Andy muttered slowly in conclusion. As Andy stood there, staring at his father, he knew that their relationship was irreparably broken. No matter what he said or did, he would never be able to repair the damage that had been done. The man standing in front of him was not the father he had once known and loved. He was a stranger, a man consumed by greed and ambition. He was lost to him forever.Slowly, he turned and began to walk away. He didn't look back, didn't say another word. He simply left, and never looked back.Andy couldn't help but wondered how his father had turned this way — at this stage, he's beyond repair and no matter the amount of words said could bring back his old self which seems to be lost forever.‘Am I really doing the right thing?’ He asked himself, giving his actions a second thought. ‘Leaving him and walking out of his life the moment he's alone and needed someone by his side, is it really okay to desert him like this?’He's not alone, he has his brother who are always supporting him, no matter

Ever since Andy could remember, he has never been anxious as he is at the moment. He wasn't even sure of the best words to say to his father when he see him. It was at that moment it all dawned on him that he has not planned all of these well enough which made him let out a low but tiring sigh. The moment Andy stepped in and as though his father had been expecting him to come, Andy was welcomed by his father's blazing gaze — if only looks were capable of ending one's life, Andy was sure to have dropped death on spot."What is this ungrateful brat doing here?" Xavier's thundered in anger, his voice laced with hatred and he did not hesitate to give his son that same look as well —hatred, anger, frustration and fury! He turned towards his brother's direction. "Fred, why did you allow this boy in?""I think he has something to say to you." It was barely past noon when Andy had returned home from work that afternoon, he couldn't come back home the previous day because it was already late in the night when he finished from the theatre room so he took his rest at the hospital instead. Andy sat on his favorite couch with a heavy sigh of relief but his relief did not last more than a few moment, because his relief was swallowed with his gnawing feeling of emptiness. Everything seems empty to him — and he felt as though he's alone in the whole big world. He knew something was amiss somewhere and tried figuring it out. Alas! He figured out that it was the absence of his father. He had missed his father's presence in the house, his nagging and miss seeing his scowling face as well —all of these had made the past five years bearable for him but for the past one week, he has no one else to do all of these to him. Andy couldn't help but blamed himself for the emptiness he was feeling, he was the one who had sent his own biolog

Once they were gone, Lisa let out a sigh of relief. She was glad to have a moment to herself, and she was looking forward to the peace and quiet. Although she couldn't help but feel a bit guilty about sending the kids away but she had things to discuss about with Judas.Judas moved closer and sat down on the seat opposite Lisa's desk. Lisa, as well, sat down in her usual position, her eyes fixed on the man before her. His facial expression says it all, of course he has a lot o say to Lisa and could not wait to be permitted so he could relay his words. "It seems you have something to say, Judas." Lisa finally voiced out after observing Judas for a while. She's not too blind not to have noticed —she knows Judas too well. "What have you come up with this time around?" "Uh, yeah." He nodded his head in agreement, adjusting slightly on his seat. "You can guess..." his voice was drawling and far from usual.Lisa raised her left brow slightly. "Beats me.
