Shannon's POV
"Mate?" This word rang in my head like a detorted music from a broken disc. What exactly is going on?How can my step brothers be my mate?OrAm I imagining things?I tried to use this sad excuse to escape from the situation I was in but it looks like I won't be able to escape from it because standing a few feet away from me was Ricky, the oldest of the triplets and now I find out that I am mated to the three of them. What am I going to do?I tried to think of any words to break the tense atmosphere but my throat felt like a huge metal had impaled it.I tried to use my muscles to break free from the awkward situation but my muscles weren't listening to me.Jule's imposing position was making matters hard for me. I feared that If I moved an inch, his wolf would come out and mark me."Who are you?" Ricky's cold voice and sudden inquiries jolted me out of my thoughts. I slowly pulled my gaze away from Jules then stared at the man before me.No matter how hard I tried to think of it. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that he was my mate. How can he be my mate? No, how did I end up in this position?"When did you return from your trip? You didn't tell Dad that you were coming today," Jules smirked and slowly let go of me. He then turned towards the man a few feet away from us.He had these emotions in his voice as though he was scared of Ricky."That's not the answer to what I asked.” He said, "What exactly is going on here and who is this girl on the wall?" He asked, clearly referring to me. I'm 100% sure that I looked like a wet chicken who narrowly escaped a lightning attack."Oh, her?" Cole's voice sounded beside me. His voice reeks of ridicule and evil."She's our step-sister and mate," He announced coldly, causing my heart to stop for a moment. I quickly looked towards Ricky's direction hoping that he was different from his brother but_"Step sister? When did Dad bring them to this house?" He muttered softly then slowly let go of the backpack on his shoulder towards the floor. His gaze never left mine ever since he arrived here and somehow it felt like I was being looked at by a predator.“Few days ago.”"What a pleasant surprise I got from returning home," He smirked and sighed heavily as he walked past Jules then stood a few inches away from me."How will it feel to be mated to a step sister?" He smirked then grabbed my neck and pulled me towards him. I felt his hot breath on my face and how he fiercely sniffed my face as though he was searching for something."L-let go off me," These were the only words that could come out of my mouth after an eternity of silence.I want to run away from them. I wanted to be away from here as far as I possibly could but my legs weren't listening to me, and the mate bond made matters very hard for me.I clenched my hands tightly to suppress the tears that threatened to fall off my eyes, and from the look of it, it looked like they were not even bothered or conflicted about what I felt in this situation."I don't think that's going to happen," He smirked, then leaned close enough for his scent to whiff through my nostrils."You even smell so good," He muttered then asked."Where's dad?" He asked, obviously the question was directed to his twin brothers."He went out with our step mum," Cole replied, his eyes fixed intensely on me and somehow I had this feeling that something bad was about to happen."That's good," Ricky smirked, then gently placed his left hand on my shoulder and gripped it tightly."W-what-" A painful scream escaped my lips but just as the sound came out I felt a soft salty taste on my lips causing my body to tremble violently.I tried to push Rick away but he felt like a mountain and the more he pressed his weight on me, the more pain I felt on my shoulder."Mmm… you really taste good," He smirked then slowly let go of me."When did you find out about the mate bond, Jules?" He asked, his expression awfully dark. Jules kept quiet for a while as though he was trying to remember something."I think today," He muttered a little unsure."What about you, Cole?" He directed the question to his brother. Cole stared at the both of them then said," Today at school,""I see. So what were you trying to do if I haven't interrupted?," He said, his voice emitting danger in them. It was as though he knew that madness was inside his brother's head."We tried to mark her," Cole replied, a little meek from his sharp gaze but Jules still stood strong as always."You tried to mark her just because you felt the mate connection? What are you even saying? I told you both countless times not to let your emotions get over your head else you will do something you will regret one day," Ricky bellowed. He turned towards me as though he was staring at a ragged mummy then he turned towards his brothers."Had you marked her, what do you think father would have done?" He said through gritted teeth and that was when my eyes widened in fear."He would cast us out of the pack first and strip us off our titles and the next thing he would do… is kill her. And to get out from such a mess is to make her the Luna of the pack, do you really think the people will accept her? Not to talk about the council of elders from the other families," He added, his voice raising as he kept explaining the situation they almost got themselves in.“So what do we do?” Jules asked softly.“She will remain our secret plaything.”Shannon's POVAs I watched the three brothers plan what they were going to do with me, I felt a sense of despair wash over me. I felt useless, worthless, like nothing more than a product about to be sold.My heart sank as I realized that I had no say in the matter.I wanted to speak up, but my heart was too heavy to find the words. I wanted to fight, to tell them that I wasn't their plaything, but it felt like fate had already decided my fate. I was trapped in a situation that I couldn't escape, and the weight of it all was crushing me. I felt helpless, hopeless, like I had no control over my own life. Why does this look so familiar? It felt like a deja Vu."So what should we do with her?" Cole asked, a gleam in his eye. Jules and Ricky turned to look at me, and I could see the hunger in their expressions. I felt a chill run down my spine. I knew what they were thinking, and I didn't like it."Why don't we have a little show?" Jules said with a dry smirk. "We can't mark her, but that d
Shannon's POVI rushed out of the room, my heart pounding. I couldn't let my mother see me like this. I hurried down the hallway, heading towards my room. The hallway seemed to go on forever, and I felt like I would never reach my room. Finally, I reached my door and quickly unlocked it, closing it behind me and locking it again. I leaned against the door, trying to catch my breath. Tears welled up in my eyes, and I knew I couldn't hold them back any longer.I sank to the floor, my shoulders shaking as I sobbed. I felt like a failure, like I had let myself and my mother down. What would she think of me if she saw me like this?As I cried, I heard a soft knock on the door. I froze, my heart pounding. I didn't want anyone to see me like this. The knocking continued, and I heard a soft voice say, "Shannon, are you okay? Can I come in?""Mum?" I stuttered. I was shocked - had she seen me running down the hallway?"Can I come in?" she asked, her voice filled with concern."I'm...fine. You d
SHANNON’S POV As Mom’s question rang in my head and caught my breath, I thought first about the rejection with Eric at school, which was humiliating, and I had still not told her about that. Then I thought about the mating with the brothers yesterday, which was as embarrassing to me now as Eric’s rejection. There was no way I could tell Mom that I had been mated to the brothers, it would be really awkward, and Robin would be pissed I knew. Ricky had warned me not to say a word about it to my Mom or Robin anyway, threatening to kill me if I did. I felt terrible lying to my Mom. In the past, it was so easy for me to tell her anything, but now I found myself not able to tell her some things, like the mate bond with the brothers, and it ate at me. I tried to search my head for a lie tell her, but her voice pierced through my thoughts again. “Have you found your mate?” Mom repeated her question. “Uhh, no. Not yet Mom.” I said, playing with the Pad Thai in my plate. “Are you sure, Shan
SHANNON’S POV The car ride to school happened with a strange silence. Surprisingly, none of the brothers mentioned the subject of the mate bond, or the sex scenes, or the rain of insults that had come after that in the events that transpired between us yesterday. It left me confused and scared, unsure if their silence was a preparation to more complications. Seated in the back next to Jules, who seemed more engrossed in his phone than acknowledging my presence, I stole a glance at Ricky in the front seat through the rearview mirror again. His eyes met mine briefly, but he looked away, the connection between us hanging unspoken in the air. Cole, who had insisted on driving, not able to stand me, exuded an air of indifference, focused on the road ahead. It surprised me a bit, as his attitude was different to the intensity he had shown during our steamy encounter yesterday. A nagging thought of our shared moment hung in my mind, but I pushed it aside, unwilling to dwell on the strange
Shannon’s POV The weight of the students’ judgment weighed down on me as I stood there in the aftermath of my stepbrothers’ intervention. But unable to withstand the scrutiny any longer, I clutched my burger and fries still wrapped in fast-food packaging, abandoning the untouched milkshake on the table. Bowing my head in shame, I walked across the cafeteria, feeling like a lone wanderer in a hostile territory. Their eyes burned into my back as I walked out. The interference of the brothers to claim me as their own and publicly, had only widened the gap between my status as a low life and them. Out in the corridors, I walked on ignoring whispers and judgmental glances. The lingering trace of humiliation clung to me like an invisible cloth. A peasant among wolves, a freak in their eyes – the names seemed endless, and I couldn’t escape the suffocating awareness of their hate towards me. As I reached the field outside, a quiet spot away from the prying eyes, I found solace on an isolat
Shannon’s POVHearing the words “please us” come out from Cole’s mouth, immediately understood what he meant by that. From looking at them, they all wanted the same thing, and that felt disgusting from a minute. But I was desperate to get my medicine back, as it was the only one I had with me and explaining to mom that I’d lost it would bring too much questioning from her. I wasn’t ready for that, considering I was already hiding a lot from her.“Fine then.” I finally answered, feeling nervous.“Good. Let’s head to the bathroom then.” Ricky let out, his first words since appearing in the scene between Cole and I.Part of me was surprised he waited until now to say something, but then I remembered how perverted the brothers all were, and Ricky had shown he was no different from his brothers, so I should expect that.I led the way to the bathroom, and walking towards there, I could feel their eyes on my body as they trailed behind me. It was obvious they were trying to turn me to their
Shannon’s POVAs I walked toward where I could get a cab, the sound of tires squealed behind me. The brothers’ SUV pulled up, and this time, Ricky was at the wheel. His voice sliced through the air as the car slowed up beside me. “Shannon, you’re supposed to be riding home with us, get in.”I turned my face away, increasing my pace, determined to distance myself from their oppressive presence.Cole’s mocking laughter resonated from inside the SUV. “Look at her, ignoring us. What a stubborn little wolf.”Jules chimed in, “You’d think she’d be grateful we’re even offering her a ride.”Ignoring their attempts to bait me, I muttered to myself, “I’d rather take a cab.”Ricky, who had slowed the car to match my steps, sighed with evident frustration. “Shannon, Dad instructed us to take you home. Just get in.”I shook my head, refusing to acknowledge their control over me. “I’m not interested. I’ll get a cab.”Cole’s voice turned taunting, “Oh, come on, Shannon. We won’t bite… much.”Jules
Shannon’s POVI retreated to my room when the brothers were finished with me once again, then locked myself in there until I heard the sound of my mother’s voice reach me, signaling their return.“Shannon?” She called out from downstairs. With cautious steps, I emerged out of the room, knowing the boys’ torment would not go on in the presence of my mom and Robin. I knew they would not dare, no matter how they appear hostile towards me.Welcoming mom with a forced smile, I tried to hide the emotional trouble beneath me. Her warm embrace offered a huge sense of comfort, but it couldn’t erase the scars of what I endured. As we gathered in the living room, mom and Robin’s eyes widened at the sight of a bruise on my chin, a reminder of the recent encounter with the brothers.Concern appearing across mom’s face, she couldn’t help but ask, “Shannon, what happened? Did someone hurt you in school again?”The truth hung at the tip of my tongue, the desire to confide in her struggling with the f
Shannon, five years later. As the sun streamed through the windows, filling the room with warmth, I found myself chasing after our energetic twins, boy and girl, who are barely five years old. Laughter echoed through the house as they raced around the living room.“Slow down, you two!” I called out, trying in vain to keep up with their energy. But Jules walking in just chuckled from the doorway, his eyes shining with amusement. “Let them play, my love,” he said, his voice filled with affection. “They’re just having fun.”I sighed, knowing he was right. As much as I wanted to keep them safe, I couldn’t deny them the simple joy of being young and carefree. With a resigned smile, I watched as they continued their game of chase and catch, their laughs filling the air with screams.Just then, I felt Jules’ arms wrap around my once again pregnant belly from behind, his embrace warm and comforting. I leaned back into his arms, relishing the feel of his strong arms around me. “How are you and
Shannon’s POVThe atmosphere in the castle had shifted since Matthew’s capture. With him out of the picture, the pack felt safer, even at the borders. Ricky and Cole had returned after several days of patrolling, their faces weary but relieved. As we gathered around the dinner table, there was a sense of peace and contentment in the air. Jules sat at the head of the table, his presence reassuring and strong. I couldn’t help but feel a swell of pride as I looked at him, knowing he had risked everything to protect our pack.Ricky and Cole filled our ears with tales of their adventures at the boarders, their voices filled with excitement as they recounted their encounters with rival packs and rogue wolves. Despite the dangers they faced, they had emerged victorious and the pack now was finally safe.As we shared our meal, laughter echoed through the hall, the tension of recent events fading into the background. Even Dora and Ellie had joined in the festivities, as I’d insisted on invitin
Shannon’s POVTwo days after the investigation for Jules’ attempted murder, as I entered his room, I found him fuming in his bed, his face twisted with frustration.“They couldn’t find him,” he muttered to me before I said anything, his voice dripping with irritation. “Matthew has slipped through our fingers again.”I sighed as I watched Jules’ restless movements, knowing this was going to be a long conversation. “You need to rest, Jules. Let the guards handle this.” I said firmly, approaching his bedside. “You’re not in any condition to be worrying about Matthew right now.”Jules shot me a glare, but I could see the pain in his eyes. “I can’t just sit here while that traitor is out there,” he grumbled, shifting uncomfortably against his pillows.I gently placed a hand on his arm, trying to calm him down. “You need to focus on getting better,” I urged. “The guards will find Matthew eventually. You need to trust them.”He let out a frustrated sigh, but finally relented. “Fine,” he grum
Shannon’s POVI walked back to the castle, my mind swirling with thoughts about Matthew. He didn’t deny it. He didn’t even try to. My suspicions were like shadows creeping over me, chilling me to the bone. But without solid proof, I felt like I was playing with smoke.I found Jules in his study, buried under a mountain of paperwork. His tired eyes glanced up at me, and I could tell he was bracing himself for another round of my suspicions.“Jules, I need to talk to you about Matthew,” I blurted out before he could stop me.He sighed heavily, rubbing his temples. “Shannon, we’ve been over this. You’re letting your imagination run wild.”I shook my head, frustration bubbling inside me. “But Jules, I just need you to listen. I know something’s not right.”He looked at me with a mix of sympathy and exasperation. “Shannon, I understand you’re scared after everything that’s happened. But maybe you’re seeing things that aren’t there. It’s understandable, given the trauma you’ve been through.
Shannon’s POV“I’m not lying to you Jules, you need to believe me when I say that Mathew is not a good person. He is trying to pot against you and why won’t you believe me?” I inquired with a very stern countenance plastered on my face.“Oh please Shannon can you please just stop all of this drama? Why are you bothering yourself over something that you shouldn’t? I don’t know what is feeding you with lies but you know better than to believe everything you hear.” Jules snapped at me, walking back to his desk, and sunk into it without giving me any more regard.I knew he wasn’t going to believe me from the start but why? I’ve been on Mathew’s trial forever and it’s enough for me to know that he is planning on hurting Jules. But why won’t Jules listen? Why is he so certain that Mathew can’t do anything to him? Why am I looking like the crazy one here? All I’m trying to do is to avert him from the danger that is heading right towards him.I couldn’t let anything happen to Jules but at thi
Shannon’s POVI knew the answers I needed were not going to come that easily. I knew my instincts weren’t wrong about Matthew and he had something up his sleeves.I intended to find out because one way or the other it was going to affect someone I cared about.I had second thoughts on the fact that I might be overthinking and he wasn’t doing anything wrong. But what if he was actually what I thought he was? Doing research won’t make me lose anything but ignoring this would.I knew he had been working here and I knew exactly where to start my investigation from. The best way to get my answers is through the maids. They were the eyes and ears of everything, all I needed was to convince a maid to tell me everything. Of course, she would resist at first but later she’ll give in to some persuasion.I paced around my room thinking hard if this was the right way to go about it. What if I was wrong and I got blamed along with being called paranoid? This just has to work so I won’t get blamed
Shannon’s POVI stormed into the castle, my heart pounding in my chest. The situation with Matthew had left me unsettled, and I know I had to find a way to make Jules listen to my warnings about him.As I entered the main hall, my eyes immediately fell on Michael, playing innocently with a toy on the floor. Beside him stood Matthew, the man I found so suspicious. My instincts screamed at me to grab Michael and run, but I forced myself to stay calm. I hurried over to my son, scooping him up into my arms protectively. Michael grinned up at me, holding out the toy he had been playing with.I turned to face Matthew, my expression hard and suspicious. “What are you doing here?” I demanded, my voice laced with tension.Matthew blinked in surprise, taken aback by my abruptness. “I came to see Jules,” he replied, gesturing vaguely. “One of the maids told me to wait here, and I saw Michael, so I thought I’d keep him company.”My grip on Michael tightened, my protective instincts in overdrive.
Shannon’s POV.The next day Jules and I moved into the pack house. It was still so surreal to me that I was an Alpha.Jules was almost completely healed now and he kept talking about how it was all because of his training yesterday. I mentioned to him that it was probably because of the training he’s still not properly healed yet but he just laughed in my face.As soon as we arrived in the pack house, we were welcomed by the slaves. They were all lined up in the living room in a straight line dressed in black and whiteThey had to be at least fifty to a hundred of them. What on earth did we need so many slaves for?I wondered as I scanned their faces.I glanced over at Jukes who seemed a little too confident. I wish I had his confidence. It seemed like he was used to it, unlike me.“These are the palace slaves, they are always at your service, They all have been assigned different stations. You will eventually get used to them but for now, these are the most important faces you will
Jules POVI woke up in a brightly lit room. I blinked, trying to adjust to the harsh fluorescent light.“Jules!” A familiar sounding voice called out and I frowned as her face came into view.“Shannon,” I sat up a little too quickly and groaned out in absolute pain.“Hey Jules,” she smiled at me.“Don’t move too much. You have not yet healed up.” She said, her sweet voice wrapping around me like a blanket.“You’ve been released?” it was supposed to be an observation but it came out as a question. I was so happy to see her, I couldn’t believe I had won. At some point, I had completely blacked out but if she was here with me then I had won.“Thanks to you. I’m so sorry for what you had to go through for my sake.* She said, hugging me.I winced at the pain and she quickly let go of me as if I were some fragile glass.“No,” I protested at the absence of her warmth. I wanted it back but I knew she would be too afraid to hurt me. That was just who Shannon was.“I’m sorry, you seem to still
