Shannon’s POV

As I navigated the dark cave, my senses sharpened with each step, attuned to the smallest of cues guiding me toward my son. I listened intently, the faint echo of my baby’s cries serving as a beacon in the darkness, pulling me ever closer.

Trusting my instincts, I followed the tug in my chest, my wolf instinct urging me forward. I moved with purpose, my footsteps echoing softly against the stone floor as I walked the winding passages.

Though the path ahead was shrouded in darkness, but my intuition guided me, leading me through twists and turns. I completely placed my trust in the unseen forces guiding me, surrendering to their guidance as I pressed on.

With each turn, I felt myself drawing closer to my son, the bond between us growing stronger with each passing moment. I could even almost taste the sweet relief of holding him in my arms once more.

With each step, I felt the weight of anticipation building within me, my heart pounding with speed. I pushed myself forward,

Shannon’s POVI decided to take a pregnancy test in secret, feeling a mix of hope and anxiety as I waited for the results. But as the test came back negative, a wave of relief washed over me, as I knew I was ready to bring another child into the world just yet.It turned out that whatever I was feeling, the dizziness, the nausea and much more, was just exhaustion from all the stress I’d been through lately.Heading back to the mansion, I found Gina talking to Robin and the triplets in the sitting room. Ricky was holding our baby, and I joined them, standing close as Gina explained her situation. She told Robin about a group of bandits who had attacked her pack, capturing their Alpha, who happened to be her mate. Gina was pleading with Robin for help, acknowledging that their past history might still be a sore spot for him.“Please, Robin. I knew we had history, but I wouldn’t have come if it wasn’t urgent. My pack needs your help.” She pleaded. As Gina talked, a tense silence followed

It was a troubling sight, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong. As my men gathered around me, their anxious murmurs filling the air, I knew I had to take action. It was unlike the scouts to abandon their duties, so something was definitely amiss.Turning to my sons who were just arriving the scene at my command, I knew we had to address the situation immediately. “Boys,” I began, my voice firm yet filled with concern, “we have a problem.”The boys glanced at each other warily, their expressions reflecting the tension in the air. They knew that when I spoke in such a tone, it meant trouble was on the horizon.“What’s going on, Dad?” Jules asked, his brow furrowing in apprehension.“Our scouts haven’t returned,” I replied, my gaze fixed on the distant horizon where the horses had appeared. “They’ve been gone for a whol

I couldn’t shake the feeling that Ricky didn’t appreciate my efforts to protect us during the bandit attack. As Ricky’s words cut through the tension like a knife, I felt a surge of frustration bubbling up inside me. How could he not see that I was only trying to protect us?But before I could voice my thoughts, Cole stepped in, his calm demeanor a clear difference to the heated atmosphere between Ricky and me.“Hey, guys, let’s take a step back,” Cole interjected, his voice steady and soothing. “I think Ricky has a point. We could have used one of those bandits for questioning.”I glanced at Cole, his words sinking in as I realized the truth in what he was saying. Of course, Ricky wasn’t dismissing my contribution – he was simply pointing out that there was room for improvement in my approach.“Sorry, Ricky,” I muttered, feeling a pang of guilt for letting my temper get the best o

Cole’s POVI was making my way through the corridors of the castle, lost in my own thoughts, when I noticed Gina sneaking into Dad’s office. Alarm bells immediately went off in my head – those files contained important pack documents, and no one except Dad had any business going through them, much less an outsider.Without a second thought, I rushed into the room and confronted Gina, grabbing hold of her hand before she could do any more damage. She struggled against my grip, her eyes wide with panic as she realized she’d been caught red-handed.“What do you think you’re doing?” I demanded, my voice low and threatening. Before Gina could respond, our struggle attracted the attention of Dad, along with Ricky and Jules who waited outside the office. Dad burst into the room, his expression a mixture of confusion and concern.“What’s going on here?” he demanded, his gaze flickering between Gina and me.I quickly explained what I had seen, emphasizing the gravity of the situation. Shannon’s POVAs I lay recovering in the castle, Doctor Lucas approached me with a concerned expression on his face. His diagnosis was straightforward: the suppressor I had been taking was taking a toll on my body, leaving me weak and dizzy.“Shannon, you need to stop or reduce the dose of the suppressor,” he advised gently. “It’s not only affecting your physical health, but it’s also interfering with your wolf nature.”I listened to his words carefully, weighing the consequences in my mind. But despite his warning, I couldn’t shake the fear that had taken root in my heart.I had seen firsthand the destructive power of magic, and I was determined not to let it consume me as it had my father.“I appreciate your concern, Doctor,” I replied, my voice steady. “But I’ll be fine. I need to keep taking the suppressor.”Doctor Lucas sighed, clearly not convinced by my stubborn resolve. But he nodded reluctantly and left me to my own devices. As the days passed, I continued to take the suppres

Ricky’s POVAs we delved deeper into our investigation of Gina’s activities, my brothers and I uncovered disturbing evidence that she was manipulating Dad.It was a bitter pill to swallow, realizing that our own father was being used by a stranger. But confronting Dad about Gina’s deceit was not easy.We knew he wouldn’t take kindly to our accusations, but we had to make him see the truth. However, our attempts to reason with him only seemed to fuel Gina’s poison in his mind. When we finally mustered the courage to confront Dad, Gina was quick to intercede, poisoning his thoughts against us. It was a heartbreaking moment, watching our father turn against us under her influence.“Dad, we need to talk.” I said, as the three of us appeared in his study.“About what?” Dad responded, setting a file down on his table.“Cole stepped forward. “It’s about Gina, Dad. We’ve been looking into her, and we’ve found some troubling things.”“Troubling things? Like what?” Dad raised an eyebrow.“She’s

My mind struggled to process the whole thing crashing over me.Jaime must have sensed my turmoil, for he spoke softly, his voice tinged with regret. “I know this must come as a shock, Shannon,” he began, his eyes filled with sorrow. “But there are things you need to know.”I was speechless, my mind playing with the implications of his confession. “But why? Why have you been visiting my mother’s grave?”Jaime’s expression softened, and he moved closer, taking a seat beside me. “Your mother… she was someone special to me. We were lovers.” He explained, his voice hinting sadness. “This was long before you and your mother joined the pack, and I was banished so I couldn’t be with her anymore.”I was overcome with a mix of emotions—confusion, and a hint of gratitude. “Why didn’t you tell me?” I asked, my voice barely abov

The situation with Matthew had left me unsettled, and I know I had to find a way to make Jules listen to my warnings about him.As I entered the main hall, my eyes immediately fell on Michael, playing innocently with a toy on the floor. Shannon’s POV.The next day Jules and I moved into the pack house. It was still so surreal to me that I was an Alpha.Jules was almost completely healed now and he kept talking about how it was all because of his training yesterday. I mentioned to him that it was probably because of the training he’s still not properly healed yet but he just laughed in my face.As soon as we arrived in the pack house, we were welcomed by the slaves. They were all lined up in the living room in a straight line dressed in black and whiteThey had to be at least fifty to a hundred of them. What on earth did we need so many slaves for?I wondered as I scanned their faces.I glanced over at Jukes who seemed a little too confident.
