69: SHE LEFT AGAIN

Lucas drove Eve to her home but it wasn’t the first time. because the first time was when she first met him when she was back in the city. That time she realized who he actually was.

As the midnight drew deeper, so thus the silence between the two. Eve remembered that before, even the silence between them was comfortable. Yet now, it was filled with an unknown tension that it any second might break.

“You never said who you really are. That you’re an Heirta,” Eve commented in a soft voice, making Lucas glance at her.

Yet, there was a grin curling up in his lips as he replied, “why? If I told you that I am, won’t you ever leave me back then?”

Eve saw how he clenched his jaw and how he tightened his grip on the steering wheel as he uttered those words. Even his eyes were obviously blaming her. but what made her unable to keep staring at him was how his eyes reflected pain.

Was he that hurt with what she did in the past?

Did he really love her that much?
