I gave Natalie a small smile before walking into the restaurant to meet the other ladies. Cecil had also brought three other girls and Natalie. They were all seated around a table for six, chatting and laughing amongst themselves. I recognized a few from high school and college, but there are some unfamiliar faces too.

“Anastasia, I'm glad you could make it,” Cecil said, standing up to greet me with a hug, which I returyn before taking my seat. Natalie eyed me with a cold look, but I ignore it and focus on Cecil's introduction.

“So, you know Marie and Anisa,” She pointed at the two familiar blondes from high school to college. They waved at me, and I give them a polite nod. We weren't close.

“And this is Tatiana and Natalie,” she gestured towards the two sisters. Tatiana smiled warmly, but Natalie's expression remained aloof.

I nodded in acknowledgment, keeping my cool despite the tension in the air. We exchange pleasantries.
