The next thing we ordered were Crêpes, thin and delicate pancakes that melted in my mouth with each bite. They were served with a variety of fillings – we had some with Nutella and others with fresh berries and cream. We also tried Gougères, which are cheesy puffs that were light and airy, perfect little bites of heaven.

The stares we got from the other people in the restaurant for ordering so much food were funny. It was like they had never seen anyone enjoy a good meal before. Cecil was practically bouncing in her seat, her excitement bubbling over. When I asked why she was super excited about it, she said this was the first heat festival she was going to celebrate with a genuine friend, and she was hopeful about finding a mate since her previous engagement ended.

So sweet.

For someone who loves snacks, this was my soul place. We also ordered something heartier, we got Pommes Frites, which are basically French fries but way fancier and tastier than any fries I’ve ever had. Cris
