I woke up feeling groggy, the events of yesterday still clear and going round heavily on my mind. Damon had left early this morning for the trip to lunar with his secretary Selene, leaving me to get killed by whoever that burglar was.

As I sat at the breakfast table, pushing cereal around in my bowl, my phone buzzed. I had a video call scheduled with Luxury to check in on the business.

The call was pasted in a blur. I nodded and gave half-hearted responses as Elizabeth and Jennie updated me on the sales and upcoming events and also some VIP customer lately. My mind kept drifting back to what happened yesterday, making it hard to focus. Once the call was over, I tried to shake off the unease and decided to freshen up.
