GAD'S POV

My footsteps grew heavier as I made my way into the dark forests. It seemed like a burden, the assignment Ava had given me. I was unable to get rid of the concern for my family's safety that was eating away at me. But how could I fool Alpha Noah, the same leader I was supposed to be loyal to and respected?

Ava had terrorized my family, saying that my compliance was necessary for their safety. My heart felt like it was being squeezed by fear. Following her instructions was the only way out, even if it meant betraying Alpha Noah. When I finally located Alpha Noah, I hoped against hope that there might be some way to say sorry to him for his kindness towards me before I delivered the hard blow.

My thoughts swirled in circles as I walked on. But when I observed the young Omega trotting beside me, my thoughts came to an abrupt stop. His eyes glinted with an odd combination of fear and ambition, and his young face revealed an odd combination of deceit and innocence.
