She and I both. All I could see were my paws and tail, but that was enough to have my chest tightening as I wished more than ever that Atlas was with me.

Amy reached for my fur, and when she touched me, the magic around me slid up her arm briefly before retreating back.

“Fascinating,” Amy whispered.

My Bear yipped, needing her to elaborate.

“I have a theory,” she said, circling me. “One I’m not sure how to test, but it’s intriguing nonetheless.”

This time, I rumbled, wanting her to get to the mother fucking point.

Amy winked, then kneeled before me, lightly touching me again. “You’re a wolf shifter, through and through there’s no doubt about that but you were raised in a coven with your wolf suppressed, surrounded by magic. That may have changed your natural born supernatural abilities, something that bond magic could have triggered.”

I couldn’t stand having a one-sided conversation anymore. My bear moved back, and I shifted to two feet again. “What the hell does that mean, Amy?”
