Alpha Draco led the way into the palace where all the servants and every other entities living in the palace trooped in to welcome them. Helena kept staring at everything in the palace with every step she took, the interior and everything she was familiar with had changed.
As expected of Draco, he is a fan of cool and vintage interior designs so everything had been changed to suit his taste but that was not her cup of tea right now. She was not in the palace to admire the change in interior decorations and how they were arranged to display the pride of the egocentric Alpha.
“Welcome My Alpha” Chief maid Kinn greeted with a deep bow and the servants followed suit.
The look on his face was nowhere friendly and they could sense that he was in a trashy mood so no one moved or made a sound that could make his ticking bomb trip off. Even though they were all scared to ask him directly why I was there, Chief Kinn still summoned up the courage to ask because it was her job to make sure everything was orderly at the palace.
“She will be staying here from now on so make sure you do the needful” Alpha Draco responded finally and Chief Kinn nodded that she had understood what he meant.
She signaled to the maids behind her and they scurried forward to help Helena with the baby that was in her hand. Chief Kinn turned to her with a smile and motioned to the right “Should we go now? Ma’am” was her next statement.
They all turned towards the direction Chief Kinn posted and started moving when Alpha Draco’s voice stopped them.
“Where are you headed? That is not her quarters” he roared.
Chief Kinn turned in shock to ask what he meant by that and a scoff escaped his lips. “Do you think I will live in the same roof with the daughter of the traitors who killed my parents? No way! Throw her to the lowest royal quarters that is just a little above the maids’ quarters” he commanded and everyone stared in shock before staring at Helena to see her reaction.
Her face was blank as that of a new book, she was not expressing whatever she felt by his ridiculous command and she could see that Chief Kinn was hesitant over the order so she had to step in.
“Show me the way, Chief Kinn. Anywhere is a home for a queen as long as it is in the palace” she remarked with a slow but obvious smirk.
A queen? Everyone went into another confusion at her revelation. Does that mean she would be the new queen? He will be getting married to her? When he hates her that much? No one knew exactly what was going on between them but since no one could muster up the courage to ask, it turned to a rumor and discussion within the palace.
They arrived at the said quarters that was outskirt the main palace’s buildings and it was really shabby, she was not expecting it to be that bad since it was also a building in the palace.
“Draco, you are really pulling your tricks on me too fast” she muttered to herself as she looked around.
Secretary Han also came in with child in her hands and didn’t hesitate to openly criticize the state of their quarters.
“What in the world is this crappy place? I understand you have a mission but must you go through this ridiculous atmosphere? If you give me the order, I can have the men come pick us within hours” Han protested but Helena only shut her up with a hand signal.
“If I want to achieve my aim then I must make sure Draco believe he has the upper hand and also, I haven’t been here in a while so I should take my time to learn a thing or two. It wouldn’t be bad to have this place as my own den where I will control the whole pack. It’s interesting if you ask me” Helena countered before snickering.
The clank on the outer gate made the signal that they had a company and within minutes, Chief Kinn came in to deliver her message to them.
“I am sorry to deliver this to you but I have no choice since it’s the commands of my master” Chief Kinn apologized before stating her purpose.
“You will not be getting any maids assigned to your quarters. All your foods, laundry and cleaning will be taken care of by you but be rest assured that whatever material things you need for them to get done will be provided by the royal palace” Chief Kinn delivered her message before moving out of the room where she finally released the breathe she was holding hard.
She muttered a low “This is nerve wracking” as she sighed and glanced at the quarters before moving to her next place of assignment.
“You are really trying hard to make me pay for this choice” Helena chuckled on her bed, staring at the high ceiling.

The maids at the palace gathered in the maids’ waiting room where they were summoned by Chief Kinn.
“Is the Alpha crazy? Why would he bring her back to the pack? It will be a whole lot of stress between the tribes now, I can see them throwing a fit in the palace soon” Keisha, one of the senior maids complained.
Immediately, Ella added “I know right? Those elders have to be fussiest set of people I have ever seen and if they start troubling the Alpha with this, doesn’t that mean there will be a threat to the throne? You know some of them are grumbling about him already”.
“Did she perhaps threatened him for him to bring her here? Only a crazy person would make such a decision” remarked Keisha and Ella chuckled lightly before chipping in “It might be the case, the daughter of such heinous murderers will surely have that much talent” and they almost died of laughter before a familiar footstep made them coordinate themselves and stood in attention with a straight face.
Her swift march in her shoes consisting of a big sole and round shaped mouth called their attention from their gossips when she stepped into the room.
She mounted the high podium in front to address all of them. “No one needs to inform you that the atmosphere in the palace is so tense now. You can see the unusual thing that happened few hours ago, this is a warning for you all to never say anything that would cost you your heads. The alpha is very sensitive and on the edge so if you pose yourself as a nuisance or threat, even I cannot guarantee your safety. Is that clear?” she yelled on top of her voice and in a uniformed voice, they chorused “Yes, Chief Kinn” heavily.
“No one is permitted near her quarters since you are not serving her. You should all face your assigned posts and ignore every tempting dramas that might unfold in days to come” she added and they all bowed before she disappeared from the hall.
“This is surely more than we think” Keisha mumbled and Ella pitched in an exciting “I can’t wait to see the drama unfold” with a happy giggle as they moved out with other maids.

Secretary Han was led to the general kitchen by Chief Kinn who took her to the assigned spot for her and Helena. Everything she would need for the preparation of food were already provided and she was told not to pass her boundaries because everything in the kitchen belongs to the royal so it must be handled with outermost care and security but Secretary Han only rolled her eyes, she was hating all that was going on already and all that was running on her mind was how to blow the head of everyone off for being disrespectful towards Helena, her boss.
Helena was tending to her kid in her quarters when she heard the commotion outside but decided to ignore it even though she already knew what it was about. Those heavy footsteps and murmurings could only be heard when the Elders are storming into the palace to protest. She had witnessed something like that while she was dating Draco and she expected it to be their next move when words reach them that she was back in the palace as the proposed Luna.
About ten minutes after the footsteps were heard, Chief Kinn personally visited her in her room to inform her that her attention was needed.
“Well, I think it’s time to say hello to the old hags” she muttered with a smirk and stood up with her baby whom Chief Kinn rushed to help her carry but she declined her help politely.
They both got to the giant hall where Alpha Draco himself was already sitting on his golden throne with the fuming elders split by the two sides in their protest outfits.
“How can you bring someone like this back into the pack? Are you trying to get all of killed?” the elder of the first tribe shouted immediately she stepped in and they all joined him.
They were still shouting and protesting with their voices clashing when a loud crashing sound was heard, they turned to see what just happened and saw the golden statue standing by the door right’s hand shattered on the floor with Helena beside it.
“You should direct any complaint you have at me instead of behaving like rabid dogs here. You all can choose, if you don’t want me to be the Luna then smash the antidote here and I will take my leave” she gracefully said to them with a calm voice as she waved the bottle in front of them and finally dropped it on the floor.
Silence erupted in the hall for a while before the leader of the fifth tribe stepped forward to crush it only for the door to yap open and someone rushed in with his face in panic.
“My Lord, your youngest son just got bitten” the servant informed him and his raised leg ceased in the air.
Welp... Seems like they will have to agree in a situation like this
The elders were having a meeting over the cure Alpha Draco went to get from the person who was said to have the cure. They were waiting for his arrival while also discussing the way out if by chance, he fails to bring the cure with him.“This strange illness is alarming”, the Elder of the seventh tribe sighed with his head hung low.“What do you mean by strange illness? This has happened before and we were able to get rid of it. If the late Alpha hadn’t banished the scroll containing the method that was used for the cure, we wouldn’t be in this state right now. Our people are dying every passing hour and the isolation center we are putting them in to prevent them from infecting others is getting filled up every day. You still think the late Alpha did well by sealing away the scroll?” growled Elder Conri of the fifth tribe as he smacked his hand hard on the meeting room’s table.Everyone jerked in shock at the suddenness and they all agreed with his claim, the late Alpha was the cause o
HELENA’S POV It was refreshing to see Elder Conri get disorganized at the news of his son. I had did all my research throughout the time I was absent from the pack and knew that the youngest son was his weakness. I didn’t even need to do much, all I pulled was a string to pull him out of his out to the place where he would likely get bitten by luring him with the truth about his dead mother who got killed by his father. He jumped out of the house at the letter and got himself bitten. That worked for me as my leverage to get Elder Conri and other tribes’ elders to give me the throne. They are very strong when it comes to their solid decisions and I have to hold one of the strongest elders as a hostage for them to have split opinions. One thing was sure, even if the youngest son gets recovered, he will harbor hatred towards his father for killing his mother, so it was like killing two birds with a stone. If I will be getting anything done in the pack, I have to cause disunity among th
DRACO’S POVEverything that was happening between Helena and the elders was not my business because they were the ones that came in to protest without permission or any discussion. Their childish protest was what soiled my plans of taming and making her submissive while leaving her no choice but to help out her pack with whatever antidote that she brought along. Thanks to their rashness, they had given her the upper hand and even signed the same request they had come to protest over with their own hands. I couldn’t care less about whatever conclusion they arrive at, but all I know is that Helena would never be able to leave the pack anymore, even though she had come in with her own legs.I will make sure she begs for death but never find it. She will get to experience what it means to be ridiculed, because that is exactly what I will make her pass through even though she attains the queen’s position. There will never be any queen as useless as her in the history of our pack when I am d
HELENA’S POV Thanks to the intense gossip of the maids, I was able to hear that Draco instructed Chief Kinn not to make any preparations for meals, drinks or party fun for her wedding and coronation. Even with the absurdity of the command, I was not fazed because I knew all he was planning to do and it was something I had prepared for beforehand. “Draco! You are playing exactly as I had imagined it and this is getting interesting. I wonder what your reaction will be on the said day” I mumbled to myself as I walked past the maids after extracting all the information I needed. Later that evening, Chief Kinn came around to take my measurements of my dress and also informed me of the day it would be taking place. A snort escaped my mouth as I remembered the faces of the elders who were obviously pained when I demanded that the coronation be held before the separation ritual took place. “I can’t get the shocked faces of the old hags off my mind, they were so stunned back then when they
The elders met again to discuss if it was really advisable to crown Helena as the Luna of the pack, considering the history her and her family had with the pack and, just as expected, they had split opinions about the issue. “No matter how I think about it, it is just not that, because how can we let the daughter of such a brutal and heinous criminal take over an important seat in the pack? Why are we all being submitted to her beck and call?” The Elder of the seventh tribe expressed his anger and two other elders immediately agreed with him. “It’s a very ridiculous and disrespectful move” The elder of the eighth tribe supported, but the elder of the ninth tribe rose up to counter them. “Even if it is crazy and somehow, do we have a choice? Are we doing this because we also enjoy it? No! This is just us being put in a tight corner because the people of the pack come first!” he lashed out. “Ever since she administered whatever she did to them, they have all been calm and sleeping pea
HELENA’S POVWhile waiting for Draco to appear at the meeting room, I discussed with King of the east country about the hostages who were captured for mistreating the people at his country and he told me about how they almost killed their people so I had a hint about what was happening between the two kings.“They must have been edgy and oversensitive due to the tension in the pack. It has come to my attention that some wolves are trying to flee the pack by all means because of what is happening and the pack’s soldiers are not making it easy for them. If captured, they are locked up so they must have felt those people were trying to capture them at the orders of the pack’s soldiers” I explained with a solemn voice while trying to give a valid reason why something like that might have happened and it worked! The King went on to tell me about how they pleaded when they were questioned and the only line they kept repeating was “Please spare us, do not send us back to the pack” and he was
Amy arrived back at the pack during the wedding after being away for close to two weeks on an official assignment she was sent on by her grandfather. She was told that her grandfather, Elder Conri, was at the palace and she went to meet with him but found out that the Alpha was getting married to someone strange. “What is going on here?” she questioned her aide as they entered the palace and saw what was going on and the aide quickly replied that the Alpha was getting married to his former mate. “She must have been the wench he talked about” she muttered before moving to her seat where she also witnessed the wedding take place. One thing surprised her and that was all the dignitaries that came to grace her occasion. She was not sure why there were so many of them there and how they were related to her, but it was quite impressive that a traitor’s daughter had gained that much influence in the cause of two years. She spat out a solemn “She’s pretty, I admit” as she folded her hands
The elders were disturbed by what had happened at the wedding and knew that with the way those kings and Alphas turned up for Helena’s wedding and coronation ceremony, their chances of being able to impeach her without it backfiring has dropped to the bottom line. “How did she gather such personalities in just a span of two years that she was sent out of the pack? This is terrifying” the elder of the ninth tribe remarked, as he paced up and down in the meeting room. The elder of the seventh tribe didn’t hesitate to support the claim, he was also surprised about how she was able to influence such great people. “This is now beyond our control, I am not sure even the Alpha would be able to do anything like dethroning her at this point. I am very sure she had all these planned before coming here to make all these outrageous demands” he declared and others supported by either hitting the table or clapping their palms. “If we don’t act fast, I am afraid she will only become more rooted as
The fight at the border had been quite fierce due to several intruders trying to sneak into the pack because of the pack flourishing. “We just rounded up some spies we caught trying to enter the pack. They are now in the back quarters”. One of the soldiers rushed to update Prince Klaux who was just coming back from another mission. With a tired sigh, he gulped down a bottle of water and signaled to his assistant. “Let’s go and check them out. This is really getting out of hand” he said, and left with the soldier. The spies were interrogated and they confessed that they were on a mission to find out the manufacturing process of the cures that were being developed at the pack’s research lab. “Which pack sent you?” he questioned “The bluemoon pack”, one of the spies responded. “I hear of new packs every day” he groaned as his hands found their way to his waist. He turned to his assistant and scratched his head for a while, “Feed them, give them a place to sleep and send them on the
Prince Klaux had been frequently visiting Han ever since she had been on the sick bed, even though he didn’t exactly know the reason why. “You always find yourself here. You both didn’t have anything going on while she was still fine though”, Vincent once said to him, and he smiled a bit. “I know right, we never had anything going on. I guess I just missed seeing her standing by cutie’s side. No one to bicker and argue with, it feels weird” he responded, and Vincent chuckled. “You really need to think about it further. Something might be kicking in”, Vincent remarked, and he denied it vehemently. “What do you mean kicking in? You are just blabbering nonsense” he muttered, but Vincent only patted his shoulder before leaving him. That very day, he came by after leaving the proposal party. He came to check up on her since it had been a while due to the fact that he was away from the palace. “You seem to be doing well over there, seeing you don’t want to come back here anymore. I gue
The priestess treated Jerry and told her that she would have to hope that the moon goddess would have mercy and grant him another spirit wolf in the nearest future because nothing could be done anymore, since the spirit wolf was killed after being torn away from him. For days, Helena couldn’t digest the news. She couldn’t eat, move or do anything. Nothing made her happy no matter what anyone did. She couldn’t rid herself of the guilt that her son had to face such a terrible fate because she was not there to protect her son, thanks to her obsession with the cure. She lost interest in everything and was ready to give it up. Alpha Draco gave orders for Elder Damon to be executed publicly and his family were turned into slaves, Amy’s entire tribe was banned and a letter was sent to every pack not to accommodate them with the notification of their crimes. Ava was hanged as an accomplice to the crime and her family were sent out of the pack. Both Helena and Vincent got healed from the vir
HELENA’S POV I played all day with Jerry who was now very big. He was growing so well that I felt bad not involved lately in his growing process but I needed to find the cure in order to be by his side. I came back from his quarters and went down straight to the lab where I found out that Vincent had injected himself with the cure we recently developed. “Why would you do that? Who would attend to me?” I lashed out at him and Han gave me his note “It is brutal to keep watching you battle with the pain of the cure every time. Let’s share the pain together this time around” was what was written in the note Han said to me, “You don’t need to be afraid, I will be the attending doctor” and I nodded. I trusted her enough after all I was given the shot and placed under observation. It didn’t take up to three minutes before I fell asleep but I felt my furs sprout and my claws coming out before I lost consciousness. The next thing I woke up to was everyone fighting and running for their liv
Draco was coming back from where he went to deliver flowers as usual to Helena but he was not let in on her orders. That didn’t annoy him nonetheless, he only wanted to keep trying till she would open up to her. He was passing by the kitchen when he witnessed the sight where Amy was trying to pick on Chief Kinn, even to the extent of slapping her. He paused at the door to take a look around from one maid to the other before he started entering the kitchen till he got to Amy. “What do you think you are doing right now?” he growled at her and everywhere shook. He was so livid at the sight in front of him and the bitterness he had for Amy added fuel to the fire. “I was only trying to teach her some lessons, why is that a problem?” Amy countered, not backing down easily “Are you asking me if that is a problem right now? Can you listen to yourself?” he growled hard and rushed towards her in anger. She shuddered at the sight of his anger, she had never seen him that way. His furs sprou
The sending of several types of flowers from Alpha Draco continued day and night but I couldn’t bring myself to send him any response even though I loved the flowers. I didn’t want to give him any false hope, fall in love with him and disappear like the passing wind when death comes. It was better how we were neither enemies nor friends. “I only have to fulfil my purpose. Any other thing should not be attached. He should just focus on being the best father for our son” I stated when Han was trying to convince me to spend the little time I have with him instead of avoiding him “You might come to regret this when it’s extremely too late. It is best you enjoy everything you can now” Han insisted but I just tucked myself under the blanket and faced the other side. I couldn’t stop crying at the fact that I wouldn’t be able to stay by Draco’s side after we cleared the misunderstanding. I wouldn’t lie, I still loved him dearly. We were both torn by the greedy adults but we managed to pull
B Beta Gray was surely stunned at my reaction as I rushed towards him and jumped in his hand. He wasn’t expecting it but then he couldn’t allow me to fall so he had to catch me so fast. “Uh.. Uhmm.. You didn’t.. uhm have to.. uhm” he kept stammering and Alpha Draco came to his aid. “She didn’t have to hug you, right? I support that fully” Alpha Draco commented with a fake frown, and we all laughed at his remark. “So you managed to retrieve this from Elder Damon’s house? It’s well written and decoded”, Vincent stated as he flipped through the book. “Yes, the man with the scar has been captured too. He’s the closest aide to Elder Damon. He’s in custody at the prison”. Beta Gray chipped in with a bragging right and Vincent smiled. “He should also have the taste of what being locked up against your will looks like. I hope he rots in there”, Vincent remarked coldly before raising the book. “Since what we need is here, we should get to work as soon as possible” he added, and I agreed
HELENA’S POV Everyone was happy that I was finally awake after a long week and the Alpha instructed the kitchen to throw me a mini-feast. “Whatever she wants should be cooked for her with immediate effect. Nothing should be left undone for her, take care of all her orders with optimum care and swiftness”, he ordered, and the maids had no choice but to agree with him. “Why are you putting so much pressure on them? It’s not like I can eat more than my stomach”, I argued, but he shook his head. “You deserve everything” he declared, and I gave him a suspicious side eye. “What do you mean by that line? You are being cheesy for no reason”, I attacked, and the Alpha sighed in frustration. He moved closer to where I was attending to the flowers by the window and let out a small cough. “Helena, are you still going to continue this way? Don’t you think it’s high time I was forgiven?” he carefully asked, and my hands paused. I turned to look at him and dropped the napkin in my hand. “Dra
I finally opened my eyes after being unconscious for two days and I saw Vincent studying hard at the table close to the window at the far end of the room. I groaned slightly as I tried rolling to the side in order to stand up, but no matter how I tried, it was an impossible task. “Are you finally awake? Don’t try hard to stand up, you can never stand up for now”, Vincent cautioned and started to walk towards me when he heard my groans “Why can’t I stand up?” I questioned, losing the fight against standing up and lying there. “The treatment I placed you on is so strong that it won’t wear off for the next three days. I know that you will never rest if I tell you ordinarily, so I have to place you in absolute rest against your will and I am not sorry to take that decision”, he said boldly, and I just smiled. I knew Vincent to be stubborn and strict, so it was not surprising to see him act that way. We are both stubborn and determined, it was obvious that I wouldn’t allow that if I wer
