I would have kicked her out.
I swear I would have.
But how could I? She brought her cute little daughter with her.
The pretty little thing has beautiful hair and wide green eyes like her dad's. She looks a lot like her dad, Warren.
"Claire, meet my best friend, Camilla."
The little girl looks up at me.
I squat to talk to her.
"Hallo there, Claire."
She is a shy one.
Her head falls then she mumbles.
"Hi."
Roy, Lumia and Renny are standing behind me, staring at the visitors. Renny shuffles towards Claire and touches her hand,
"Come and play with us."
I have never seen Renny so confident before.
Roy pulls him back immediately and snaps.
"No don't touch her! Her mom was stalking us at night and my mommy said she's a-"
I quickly cup Roy's mouth with my hand. He was about to say what I told him about Riana being a witch. I didn't know he would remember Riana.
I had totally forgotten about that night I bumped into Riana. But my son has not.
"No. She is a good person and she is my good friend. Okay, my boy?"
Roy looks confused but nods reluctantly.
"Claire, come play with us."

Our kids are playing upstairs in Roy's room as I pour Riana some cold mango juice. She quickly grabs the glass and gulps down the juice without a break.
"Some more please?"
I pour her some more without hesitation. This time she takes it sip by sip.
I take a sip of my drink, staring sharply at her.
"I thought I told you never to come back."
"That was the plan."
"Then?"
"Warren and I decided to move to this town."
I gasp. "What!"
"Warren's dad gave him an abandoned beautiful bungalow which is now getting refurnished as we speak. It should be ready by the end of this week."
No!
"What the fuck Riana!"
If she moves to this town, that means Karla will come visit. Then before you know it, the whole of Kingswood comes to visit and then they discover that I live here and I have a son.
No!
"What?" she asks obliviously.
"You know I don't want that!!!"
"Well, sorry about that..."
"Sorry? How is sorry going to help!"
"Camilla, Can i kindly remind you that this town is not yours and you don't get to live here alone. And, I am an adult. I can live anywhere I want to and I can make decisions on my own! Whether you like it or not! You don't get to decide that for me..."
I scowl at her.
"This is not about me, Riana! And you know that! This is about my son."
" You are protecting your son? Protecting him from what exactly? I mean, Andrew died. Terrence died. All the bad guys died. So, who exactly are you protecting Roy from?"
"Ramon!" I blurt out.
"You are not protecting him from Ramon. You are hiding him from Ramon. We both know that."
I rake back my hair in frustration.
"Whatever! I just don't want him near my son."
"Why?"
"I don't want him to hurt my son!"
She looks at me, confused.
"Ramon would never hurt Roy."
"I thought he would never hurt me too."
"But Mila, this is not about you. It is about your son. You are being selfish by not letting Roy get to know his dad."
"He is dead. At least to him, he is."
Her jaw drops. "You told him his dad is dead?"
Roy comes running down the stairs and I quickly shush her.
"Mom, can Renny and I walk Lumia home?," he asks.
I shake my head. "No."
"Mooooom!" he looks at me with puppy eyes. "I promise to keep my room neat and not throw dirty socks under the bed. Pleeaaase mommyyyyyy!"
Riana laughs.
I shrug. "Fine."

The following day at noon, I drive to Roy's school for the PTA meeting.
I find the hall half full, with parents still sauntering in with their spouses.
I see a couple sail swiftly past me and sit on the spot I wanted to sit on. They look very happy, holding each other's arms and giggling about something.
This could have been Ramon and I but... He betrayed me.
I sit at the furthest corner of the bench, a few inches away from the beautiful couple. When the hall is full and all the teachers and parents have settled down in their respective seats, the meeting immediately kicks off.
The senior teacher stands at the podium and gives a welcoming speech. He proceeds to request us to applaud for a student reciting a poem as he comes on stage.
A lively, tiny boy walks to the stage politely, hands on his back.
Roy?
Tears of joy sting my eyes, just seeing him standing fearlessly in front of all these people. He stands confidently with a wide grin on his face.
His eyes roam around the crowd, as if looking for something... Someone...
His eyes suddenly settle on me and he smiles even wider.
"This is to my beautiful mother and all you lovely parents who are gathered here!"
He winks at me and the crowd claps thunderously for him. I do not even have the strength to clap. I just watch as he starts the poem, his big beautiful brown eyes glued on me.
The minute he comes to the end of his wonderful performance, I shoot up from the bench and clap so loudly like a proud mother.
"That's my baby!" I shout blissfully.
Everyone turns back to look at me as if I am crazy. I resume back to my seat and stretch my dress when I sit. I am still overjoyed due to my son's performance.
Roy points at me from the stage and shouts joyously.
"That's my mommy!"
Everyone claps in awe as they look at my baby and me.
The senior teacher sends Roy off the stage. He then calls the deputy head teacher, who gives a really short speech. The meeting is one big yawn the minute the deputy head teacher welcomes the head teacher on the stage.
The head teacher, Mrs. Stephens (tall as a giraffe, skinny as a stick) talks non-stop for a whole sixty minutes about nothing new really... I think she just loves the attention she gets, just standing there all eyes glued on her.
"And lastly," Thank God! "We have a couple of new teachers who recently joined our staff. You will all be interacting with them in a few. Sadly, Mrs. Morrell transfered and we brought in a new teacher, Lawrence Garfield to take her place," She takes a pause. "Thank you all for your time. Let us continue working towards the welfare of our children's future."
With that, she puts a full stop to the meeting.
Both parents and teachers walk towards the exit door when the meeting is over.
The minute I step outside, my son scampers towards me and throws himself on me. I take him in my arms and lock him up in a warm hug.
I congratulate him on his poem.
"I did it for you," he tells me.
I hear a man clear his throat behind me.
I quickly turn back to see Eric carrying Renny in his arms.
"Hey," he says calmly.
I smile broadly.
"Hey... You made it!"
He sighs. "Luckily. I couldn't miss another PTA meeting."
His son grins widely at his dad.
"Dad, can we please all go for some ice cream today. You, me, Roy and his mom?"
Eric nods. "That is actually a great idea! Mila? Roy?"
I have not even responded when my son makes the decision for the both of us.
He shrieks in delight. "Yes! Sure!"
"I would love to but... There is a lot of stuff I should finish up at home immediately."
I am not going anywhere with this man and just end up disappointing him. This will be like a date and I am sure things will be awkward. I don't want to lead him on. And I also don't want to make him feel like I'm leading him on.
Eric looks at me in despair. "Writing?"
"What?" I am startled. "How did you know that I write?"
I never told him that I am a writer!
Renny smiles. "I told him."
"I would love to read your books," says Eric.
"No don't!" I chuckle, blushing.
"Why not? I am sure they are amazing!"
I roll my eyes. "No they are not!"
"Mom! Let us go have ice cream, pleeeaaase!"
I shake my head. "No, Roy!"
He's about to continue grumbling when something suddenly catches his eye. He immediately points to the direction.
"My teacher, Mr. Lawrence, you should go greet him!"
From afar, I see a man in glasses, his brown hair slicked back. He turns back to talk to some cute copper-haired petite teacher.
"Roy, your teacher is talking to a teacher."
Roy groans. "Ms. Allison has been following him around ever since he came to this school. She is nuts about him and it is starting to really look creepy."
Eric laughs.
I shush Roy. "That is not right, Roy. Kids do NOT talk about adults like that."
Roy groans under his breathe. His face lights up.
"There! He is all alone finally..."
Roy literally drags me to his teacher.
"Wait here," I tell Eric as the little demon drags my hand.
We finally get to Mr. Lawrence who spins around when I touch his shoulder. Just one look into his brown eyes and my immediately sinks.
No!
Ramon Darke.
÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷
I stand stiff, glued to the ground. For a moment, I completely freeze and my blood stops running through my veins.I hold on to my son so tightly, not sure what to do."This is Mr. Lawrence, mom!" he says in delight, pointing to him.Ramon is a fucking devil.Once he deceived me and now here he is, deceiving my poor little son."Nice to meet you Ms. Clarke," he stretches his hand shamelessly to me.How did he know I changed my name from Clarkson to just Clarke?I fake a smile."Nice to meet you Mr. Lawrence."My son looks up at us and smiles."Mom is single, Mr. Lawrence."Ramon looks up at me with a wide grin on his face. "Well, seems like I am a luc
My heart sinks."Is that a threat?"Ramon looks at me sternly."If you dare expose me, I will have no option but to demand for the full custody of my child."I freeze completely."And just remember," he leans in to whisper. "You will be battling in a court of law with a professional lawyer. Now, would you really like that? Our dear baby getting dragged from one side to another, totally confused just because of the selfish actions of the parents?"No!I know how ugly custody battles can get. And the sad part is, the kids suffer the most. No. I would not want to put my baby through that.I look at Ramon and I see the victorious grin on his face. You would think he just won a lottery. He is enjoying to see me in a state of fear."Listen!" I hiss. "Do not think for a second that you have won this just yet..."
"What is wrong? Tell me!"I am shrieking and completely freaking out."My ex-wife is a psychopath!" he blurts out. "She tried to kill Renny one time... And you just gave him away! Just like that!"My heart sinks."I did not know Eric! If I did... If I did, I would not have given him away!" I quiver. "Now what are we going to do?"He bolts to his car."Find Renny."÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷"FUCK!! FUCK!! FUCK!!"Eric bangs the steering wheel, cussing furiously when his psychopathic wife declines his call.Roy is sitting at the backseat silently, aware of the tension floating in the air.Eric looks frustrated and I feel so fucking horrible that I am the one making him go through all this. It is my fault all this is happening."We sh
A week has gone by with me trying to avoid Ramon the best I can. And he's done a good job at staying the fuck away from me and I am impressed.Maybe changing my mind was a good thing.I couldn't pack up and just leave this town like that without considering Roy. Most of his friends are here. He loves school more than ever and he's very fond of his fake teacher, Mr. Lawrence. Basically, his entire life is in this town and taking that away from him would be selfish.I wish there was something I could do to get Ramon fired so that my son could get a new class teacher. My only worry is Ramon. What if he takes him away from me?"Why would Ramon take your son away from you?," Riana asks, looking at me like I'm being ridiculous.I sip my hot cup of coffee. "I don't trust him. I know he can do anything!"She munches on the apple. "I don't th
"Listen, Camilla!" Ramon sneers at me. "I'm going to take Roy away from you and you'll be left all alone!"I scowl at him, tears streaming down my eyes. "You can't take Roy away from me!"He grins evilly. "Then watch me do exactly that."He starts to walk away from me but I grab his arm. "Don't you dare!"He grabs me aggressively. "Roy is mine! I'm his dad! So, don't try me and don't dare get in my way!""Roy is mine!" I start crying hysterically. "Only mine! And you have no right whatsoever over him."He sneers. "Listen, woman! He's my son too and the only thing separating me and him is you."Roy suddenly walks towards us.Ramon squats and hugs him. "Who do you want, Roy? Daddy or mommy?"My son grins broadly at Ramon. "I want you daddy."My heart sinks and I co
"Shouldn't you two be at school teaching or something?" I ask them dryly.Allison is not pleased at all by my question. "We are on lunch break and Mr. Lawrence hates the food at school."I continue eating my food, pissed as hell.Ramon ruined my lunch date with Eric. He is such a pain the ass honestly. To my surprise, he turns to Eric. He clears his throat and leans his elbows on the table."So, Eric, what do you do?""I am a managing director at my dad's brewery company," he responds, despite of the puzzling question."Mmh... Interesting."Ramon glances at me then at Eric and suddenly blurts out,"You two are always together most of the time. Is there something going on between the two of you?"I choke.I glare at him. "That is none of your business, Mr. Lawrence!"He grins. "Uh... Sorry about my lack of manners, Ms. Clarke. I just asked that because I would like to
"I don't know what to do Riana."For the first time ever, I visited Riana in her house this morning. And I must say, Warren has impeccable taste in real estate. The house decor is just perfect!"You should probably thank him or something..."No fucking way! How the fuck can she tell me to call up Ramon and tell him how grateful I am for what he did for me! I mean, I'm thankful that one of my books is almost about to get published by the best publishers. But there is no way I would call him! Let alone to tell him thankyou! No way!I spent the entire night thinking about what to do after Janet gave me the amazing offer. I'm torn in between thanking Ramon or just pretending like he didn't do me that HUGE favor.I mean, thanking him would kinda make it look like we are all cool and shit (WHICH WE ARE NOT). And I don't want that.
"We loved her."The priest says."But our Lord God loved her more."I stare at her grave in utter disbelief."Rest in peace, Gina."Elena cries on my shoulder and I wrap my arms warmly around her and console her.Just like her mother, I am astounded by Gina's sudden death. She was schizophrenic and I thought she would beat it. I thought she was getting better and healthier. But from what I have gathered, she grew much worse ever since her father died. She kept hurting herself, slashing her wrists and this time, she succumbed to the injuries. Now Elena is all alone. Her husband died five years ago and now, her only daughter is dead.I can't bring myself to imagine how this woman is feeling. How broken and shattered this ordeal has made her. How empty and sad and numb she must be feeling.Being a parent myself, I can't imagine a world without my baby in it. He's

RAMON'S POVI never thought I would fall so hard for Camilla. Before I met her, I just fucked around. Always making sure I don't get attached until the cliche story happened to me.I fell for her.I fell for her the first night I saw her looking like a complete mess. Her hair wet and her clothes all muddy. And despite that, she was still breathtakingly beautiful.I had seen her photos and I knew she was beautiful. But I didn't know she was that beautiful.I guess the hardest thing for a man is not lying to others but lying to himself. At first, I lied to myself that I'm not falling for her. But deep down, I knew I had fallen already. I had fallen so hard. So hard that it was obvious to everyone around me. Flex kept teasing me about it but I kept denying it. Un
A few weeks later,It is a school-award ceremony.Roy and Renny stand at the auditorium.Ramon and I are cheering them on at the top of our voices. Both boys are being awarded. Renny is getting an award for the best solo verse and Roy is receiving an award for the best poem. I am so proud of the two little boys and the work they have done with the pieces.I wish Eric was here to witness his son making him proud. But he had to be in hospital since Karla is getting discharged today. The doctors informed us that Karla was very lucky that the bullets didn't kill her. She was injured severely and bleeding profusely. It is honestly a miracle that she did not die on the spot.Ramon stops clapping for the boys and darts a glance at me.
"Harder!"I moan at the top of my voice.Ramon thrusts inside me roughly, the king-size bed creaking underneath. He comes down on me stronger and faster with every shot.We both reach climax and he buries his head on my bosom. We are both out of breath, after that moment of complete ecstasy. The doorbell rings. We both groan at the rude, untimely interruption."You get the door!""No, you get the door!""Nope! I went to get it yesterday," I insist. "It's your turn!"He looks at me with those puppy, dark eyes. He looks so stupid and ridiculous that I burst out a laugh."That's so not working!" I chuckle. "It's pathetic.""Fine then.""Good boy!""You are such a bully!" He dresses up quickly, still grumbling. "It sucks living in
It has been three months.Three whole fucking months and Ramon is still in a coma.Eric and Karla are supposed to be married by now but they couldn't go ahead with it because of Ramon's coma. It's like everything kind of stopped. The world around me stopped. The only thing that keeps me going is Roy.He still goes to school but then keeps asking where his dad is. I keep telling him he's gone far away but he will be back soon. But I am left asking myself. Will he ever come back or is it just a lie I'm telling myself? My friends have been there for me in every way possible: Eric, Riana and Karla. They have been there for me emotionally, physically and even financially.Yes, financially.I went bankrupt. My dad was able to put everything he ever gave to me back in his name. Yeah, that's how sick the devil of a man is. And the little money I get is from the book I published and the one that I
Ramon is in hospital. He was rushed to the hospital last night after the shooting. He hasn't woken up since then but at least there's good news. The guy that shot him was caught and confessed he was sent by my dad. It all made sense why Dad threatened me when I went to see him. But I don't get why he would put me through all this pain if he really loves me...It just doesn't make sense...The bad news is that Ramon hasn't woken up since. And I'm afraid he won't since the doctors haven't said a single word. That scares the shit out of me.I haven't had Ramon for the last five years and now losing him forever is like a dreadful nightmare. God! Please don't let that happen! When I lose him this time, it won't be only me that gets affected but also our son, Roy. He has grown too attached to him to lose him now...And, how will I start explaining that he is gone? This time forever?I am even tired of
Ramon and Roy went to the mall a couple of hours ago but still haven't returned.I'm sure they are having so much fun together. They didn't want me to tagging along. They claimed it's a boys' affair and that I was not welcome. Can you imagine! So sexist!I am in the kitchen, making dinner. I hope by the time they are here, I will be done. The doorbell rings. That's odd.I was not expecting anyone at this time.I open the door, only to see Eric standing at the doorstep looking anxious and nervous. I welcome him and proceed to the kitchen where he follows me.Eric, being the good guy, doesn't sit down. He helps with slicing the onions and the tomatoes. I can clearly see his hands are kind of shaky."Eric, are you okay?" I ask him."I am fine... Just a little anxious...""Why?"He sighs and stops to look at me."Because I want to propose to Karla..."
Ramon holds my hand as we get into the restaurant. The feeling is surreal. I just can't believe I am in his arms again. And this time, it's forever. It's been a week since I came back. You don't know how happy Ramon was to see me. He held on tight to me for thirty minutes straight. Being in his arms again was overwhelming. I couldn't believe it was happening. I thought I had lost him forever this time.Ramon couldn't believe that my dad has been alive all this time. But he was relieved that he didn't kill my dad that night and now his conscience is clean. I expected him to be very angry at me but the funny thing, he was so overwhelmed to see me that he even cried in front of everyone. That was very emotional and I found myself crying too.Karla and Eric started awwed at us as we embraced. So Eric is the hero in this story. When he found out I was missing, he knew Ramon would be able to help find me faster. So he paid one of the of
Solidad is pointing a gun directly at Dad.Dad's face is contorted with fury and terror, like he can't believe she just betrayed him. She's not in the sexy red dress she was wearing a while ago. She's in a black pant suit and her hair tied up in a neat bun. She looks like a serious no-nonsense woman."Detective Marina Santos," she shows him her badge. "Calvin Clarkson, you are under arrest for drug trafficking and the murders of Clara Clarkson and Rupert Green. You are also under arrest for faking your own death."Dad is baffled by the revelation."I have been an undercover detective and I was assigned to you back in Mexico. The Mexico Police wanted proof that you are indeed a drug trafficker. But as I got deeper in your case, I discovered that there was more to you than drug trafficking. Just some few weeks ago, I found out that you faked your own death, killed your ex-wife and Rupert and to make it even worse, you abducted your
