Susan's accident

Ella's POV.

I wake up, and I realize I had dozed up on the couch while waiting for my mother. It's obvious she was not yet back because her car was not outside.

It was strange. Several hours had passed since she left home. I remember she promised to come back after a short while, but now she was taking forever to reach home.

I take my phone and I dial her number, but it was not going through. It's like she had switched off her phone. I was really beginning to be worried about her. This was so unlike her.

I decide to call my father. He needed to know that mom was not at home. I am glad when he answers almost immediately.

Dad — Darling. Why are you calling at this time of the night?, is everything alright? Answer me darling.

Me — Dad, mom is not at home. And I am really getting worried about her.

Dad — what are you saying, Ella. That your mother is not at home?, have you tried calling her number?

Me — yes dad, I have called several times already, but it goes straight to voice mail.
