BUTTERFLIES IN MY TOMMY

GABRIEL POV

5 days has passed since Ralph called regarding the money request, but I have been too busy with work to remember to send it.

Today being a Saturday morning I received a miss call from RALPH when I was in the bathroom, so the moment I get settled in my office, I decide to call him back.

I call the first time but he doesn't answer, so I called again and this time he takes the call almost immediately.

" Hi bro"

" I am so sorry I didn't send you the money as promised, I will send it today" I say the moment he answers the call

" Hello..." The gentle voice of a woman says.

Her voice was like butter, melting into my ear drums, yet surving to the heart, making my heart beat in a pace to compliment the melody she calls voice.

" I'm sorry, he's taking a bath" she informs making my heart beat faster, as butterflies erupt in my tommy.

This was strange, never has a woman made me feel this way, talkless of over the phone.

' What is happening to me?'- I panic as I held my beating chest firmly

" It's fine. You must be his wife right?" I questions

" Yes sir" She affirms.

With each passing word, her voice leaves an outstanding impact in me.

If her voice alone could arise this much in me, what will being in her presence do?.

It is no wonder brother always hides her. I barely know anything about her, not even her name.

I don't blame him if I had a woman half as special as she is, I would probably do same.

" It's nice to finally hear the voice of his lovely wife, he is always hiding. I am his half brother Gabriel" I inform

" Oh, I wasn't aware. It's nice to hear from you too brother in- law. I have heard alot about you" She voices excitedly but even in her excitement, one could hear a hint of sadness.

" I hope you heard only nice things" I say with a smile " And I hope you are equally aware, that I am alot more handsome than your husband. If he ever makes you sad just dish him for me, ok" I joke and she burst out laughing.

Her laugh was short, but it was the most beautiful thing I have ever heard.

" I will keep that in mind " She teases.

This is the first time I have ever enjoyed talking to a woman this much, I don't want this conversation to ever end.

" Could I please know your name?" I ask

" Oh yes, My name is Rie....." She says before Ralph's voice cuts in

" How dare you touch my phone?" He yells angrily, before I heard what seems like a slap

" I'm sorry" I hear her apologize in a teary voice

" Get out" I hear him command, before returning to the call.

" Hello bro. I was....." He starts speaking, before I cut in

" Did you just hit your wife?" I ask angrily

" Bro, that's how she's. If I don't hit her, she never learns" He explains

" Don't ever hit her again" I order " You know what apologize to her, this instant"

" Relax man, why are you over reacting. She's my wife not yours" He says

" You call this over reacting. You have no right to hit a woman" I yell angrily

" You are taking this too serious brother, you have never shouted at me before" He says in a disappointed tone.

It was true, never before have I raised my voice at him, even when he landed us in prison, but I can't help it. I am furious, I just feel this sense of protectiveness over her.

" You know what bro, let's talk about something else, when are you sending me the money?" He ask

" When you apologize to your wife" I inform, making him furious.

" Stop acting like her husband already. She is mine" He yells equally angry

" When you are ready to talk call me, ontill then you get nothing from me" I say before hanging up the call.

He has no right to hurt her, if I were to have her I would treat her like the goddess she is.

RIEKA POV

I hear Ralph's cell phone ring, but didn't answer, when it rang the second time I read the caller ID as Bro, so I hurrily answer thinking it must be important.

It turns out that it was just his elder brother Gabriel who called. I have heard so many amazing things about him from his father, I heard he's a successful businessman and looks like a Greek god, but what I wasn't expecting was that he was going on be so funny.

His voice was deep, husky and authoritative. there was just this sense of safety when you speak to him, it's like no one or nothing can hurt you, but unfortunately it was just a sense, because RALPH'S slap brings me back to reality.

He commands that I leave, which I did. I retire to his study, which happens to be part of our bedroom, to arrange some books, but couldn't hear him yelling over the phone, it seems him and his brother were having a fight because of me.

If I wasn't in trouble before, now I am finish, he's going to beat the hell out of me today.

A few seconds later my fears are confirmed, when he walks into his study in his towel, and a belt in hand.

" What did you tell my brother?" He ask angrily

" I didn't tell him anything" I confess on my knees in tears, from fear.

" Why were you laughing, when he was speaking to you. You were flirting with him right?" He questions as he walks towards me

" No I wasn't, he just said something funny" I inform

" Funny like what. I will like to know" He says

" He.... He....." I stammered. Knowing fully well that if I were to tell him the truth, it will be the end of me.

" You can't talk now, can you?, because you're a slut" He says before using his belt on me.

Landing strike after strike with no remorse.

The belt itself hurts, but the buckle was inflicting all sorts of wounds.

" You are mine, mine alone. I own you " He says as he increases the flogging.

I scream and scream but no one hears my pleads, so I try to make a run for it, but before I get the chance to escape our bedroom, he pushes me head first against the wall and my lights go out.
