Bryan was about to ask her what was wrong when the call suddenly ended, increasing his panic.
"Kira?" He called out, his eyes widening as he stared at Aiden's phone. "Kira!" "What's happening?" Aiden asked, "Did you hear that? You heard her call for help, right? I wasn't the only one." Immediately, Aiden dialed her number again, but the line was switched off, it could not connect. "What the hell is going on?" Bryan got up, pacing around the room. "I will call Ryker." "Yes, do that." Aiden agreed. Bryan unlocked his phone, fingers moving fast to find Ryker's number and call. Holding the phone to his ear, it rang, but Ryker was not picking either. It rang once…twice… thrice…still no response. "Where exactly is he?" Bryan muttered under his breath, "Pick up already," he sighed and switched the phone to his other hand. "Come on." He was even starting to get worried with the way Ryker was also not picking up. They just wanted to know if everything was okay with Kira. Aiden, on the other hand, remained seated, waiting for Ryker to pick up as well, but listening to Bryan complain about Ryker not picking up, only got him more frustrated. "I'll call Dad," Aiden said to Bryan, his expression cold as he started calling their father, "Keep trying Ryker's line." Bryan nodded and kept trying Ryker's number, even though he was not picking up. "Hello? Sorry, I was taking a shower," Ryker, who finally picked, explained to Bryan. "It's okay, it's okay," Bryan replied and then turned to Aiden, informing him that Ryker had picked up. Aiden stopped calling his father since they had now gotten through to Ryker, got up from the bed he was sitting on and walked up to Bryan. "Is everything okay? You sound somehow" Ryker asked, noticing how off Bryan's voice was. "Well, we are not entirely sure of the situation. I need you to go check on Kira," he told Ryker, urgency lacing his words. "We did not really have much time to know what was wrong, but I am very sure she said 'help' and then the call ended," he explained. "I'm already dressed and on my way," Ryker said as he left his house. "I will get back to you." "Thank you Ryker and if anything has happened, you know what to do," Bryan uttered. "I do," Ryker concurred before Bryan ended the call, lowering the phone from his ear. "We are leaving," Aiden said, his voice calm but final as he started packing his things. Bryan didn't even hesitate in agreeing with Aiden. Even though they were not sure about what was really wrong, they felt it, and they will only be relieved when they know that she is fine. Aiden zipped open one of their bags, his movements quick and smooth as he tossed his clothes into it. "Aiden," Bryan called out, walking and standing by the window. "Please help me pack my things too. I need to get the jet sorted." "Sure, got it," Aiden said, giving him a sharp nod. "I hope she is okay." "I hope so too," Bryan rubbed his face and then made the call. Within two rings, a professional voice answered. "Good evening, Mr. Bryan. How can we assist you?" "Good evening. I need a Gulfstream out of Keflavík in the next two hours, if possible earlier than that," he requested, not wasting any time. "Destination : New Orleans." There was a brief pause on the other end as the concierge processed the request. "Of course, Sir. Same arrangements as usual?" "Yes," Bryan responded, "Although we have our car, so no need for transport." "We will have the Gulfstream prepared shortly," The concierge spoke again. "Just confirming, Sir, your NetJets account will cover this flight, correct?" "Yes," Bryan said. "Charge it to the same account and make sure everything is in order." "Very good, Sir, and of course. We will also notify you the moment your jet is ready. The estimated time to departure is one hour and forty-four minutes," the concierge informed him. "How long?" Aiden asked, glancing up from the bags. He was already done packing and was zipping shut the last bag. They didn't bring many things, though. "Less than two hours," Bryan replied, taking his phone away from his ears for a second. Aiden nodded, grabbing both packed bags and placing them by the door, "All set." He told Bryan. Despite the calmness they were exuding, there was a lot of urgency. "We will drive ourselves to the airport," Bryan told the concierge as he raised the phone back to his ear. "Just make sure the jet's ready by the time we arrive." "Of course, sure. I will ensure the flight plan is filed immediately, smooth and everything is prepped for departure." "Thank you. I appreciate it, and please make sure there are no delays," he said. "Consider it done, sir." Without another word, Bryan ended the call, turned and stared at Aiden who was standing by the door, ready to leave. "We good?" Aiden asked. "Yeah," Bryan nodded, trying to stay positive as all he could think about was Kira. "Let's move." They left the room and stepped into the cold Icelandic night air, heading to where their car was packed. They thought they would have a chance to bid Baba Razz goodbye before leaving, despite his mysterious nature, but the situation right now did not permit that. They were not even going to stay to get the answers they were waiting for from the business deal they offered to the leader of Reykholt. But it was okay, everything was okay. They both slipped into the front seats-- Aiden behind the wheel, and Bryan in the passenger seat. Without wasting another second, Aiden started the engine and moments later, they were out of the village. As they sped down the road, Bryan's phone rang suddenly. It showed the name, Ryker. He grabbed it quickly and hit the answer button, then put it on speaker. "Ryker, you are on speaker. Any good news?" "I'm sorry, this will not be good news. We found her phone smashed on the path that leads to her parents' grave. I also confirmed from your parents that she indeed went to visit them," Ryker said, relaying the information to them. Bryan's lips pressed into a thin line, a low growl rumbling deep in his throat, while Aiden's grip on the steering wheel tightened. "What else?" Aiden asked, his face cold and his tone laced with anger. "Where is she?" "I have rounded up warriors," Ryker answered, "We are still searching inside and outside the pack. So far, she is not in the pack." "Keep looking," Aiden ordered. "Check every inch of the pack and beyond, every single place should be checked. If she is in danger…" Then he took a deep breath before he would rip off the steering wheel. "Just keep searching," Bryan said to Ryker, trying to maintain control, although he was raging from the inside. "We will be there soon."As they arrived at Keflavík Airport, the Gulfstream G650 was already sitting, waiting on the private runway.Aiden eased the car to a stop beside the jet's terminal entrance, a crew of airport personnel and handlers already waiting nearby. As soon as Bryan and Aiden stepped out, the staff rushed to assist them, opening doors, and unloading their bags, swiftly and professionally.Aiden tossed the keys of their car to the staff member, and ordered without looking back, "Park it in a secure area, someone will come get it.""Yes, Sir." The attendant nodded quickly, sliding into the driver's seat to move the car.Aiden moved slightly ahead, his stride confident, and Bryan walking beside him, exuding the same confidence. As they reached the base of the jet's stairs, the flight attendant greeted them with a welcomed smile. "Welcome, Mr. Bryan, Mr. Aiden." She said, giving a polite nod to each of them. "Your flight is ready, and we will depart as soon as you are seated.""Thank you," Bryan a
His smile was unsettling, almost gentle, yet had something dark all over. The way he looked at her while he strolled in, balancing a silver tray with breakfast in his hand, made Kira's stomach twist. If there was anything she hated the most, it was the look in his eyes and that smile.Kira sat propped up against the headboard of the bed she had woken up on, her wrists and ankles tightly tied with ropes. She was forced into a seated position with the way she was tied. She squirmed in place, trying to see if there was a way to break free."What are you doing?" She demanded, forcing herself to remain calm. "Let me go. Let me go right now."Dave chuckled as he moved closer to her. "Now, now, my sweet," he said in a sickly sweet tone. "I went through all this trouble to make you comfortable. You deserve all this comfort, and this is how you treat me? I even made you breakfast, see?" He told her, pouting as he showed her the tray. Then he sat down beside her on the bed, moving closer and le
Kira blinked, taken aback by his response. She had not expected such a response, such a cold reply from him. It sent chill running through her body the way he responded and looked at her while responding."Alright, two can play this game," she said in her mind and thought quickly of what to do next. When she finally got an idea, she softened her expression and spoke in a very gentle and sweet tone. "Please?" She murmured, her voice adorable and sweet. "I-I won't run," she stuttered, making it seem like she was very terrified. "I couldn't even if I tried. I know you would stop being nice to me if I did, and I like when you are nice to me and when you don't hurt me or get upset."Kira then winced for more effect, glancing down sadly at the ropes. "It's just… my hands really hurt, and my legs too. I know I can be stubborn, but I would really feel better if you could take things slow with me as I am still in shock. Maybe make me understand what's happening.""And…" She continued, sighing
After Ryker finally said the name, "Dave," Bryan and Aiden stood still, letting the name settle. They were trying to put a face to the name but could not."Do we know this person?" Aiden asked Ryker, still thinking."Maybe," Ryker responded, unsure. "You might know him, but have just forgotten. So, this is all I have so far. He is not in the pack, no one knows where he is." He told them as another heavy silence fell, frustration clear as they had no lead on finding Kira."I think I have an idea, while you both and the rest keep looking for leads," Aiden said, breaking the silence after some minutes. "I will go to Morane," he informed them. "If anyone can help us find Kira, it's her. Maybe she will have a way or an idea that could give us the upper hand.""That's right!" Bryan and Ryker agreed, immediately after exchanging looks. "That is a solid idea," Bryan uttered, feeling somewhat hopeful. "If anyone can assist us, it's Morane. You go; don't worry about things here, we will handle
Aiden's face lit up with relief and gratitude as the words Morane uttered settled down in his head. It seemed like today he has been getting hit by relief-- left, right, center, everywhere."Thank you so much, Morane," he said sincerely, appreciation filling his tone. Quickly, he turned, ready to leave and inform the others, but Morane called him, stopping him."Yes?" He asked with his right brow raised."Are you not forgetting something?" She asked while staring at him. "Something important.""I am not sure what exactly you mean," he replied, genuinely confused. "What is it?"Morane smiled and shook her head, gesturing to the map, "This! This is what you are forgetting," she told him as her fingers hovered over the spot where Kira's hair had stopped. It was the exact location of where Kira was."This is where she is," Morane said patiently. "And you were just about to rush out without even knowing where you were going."Realizing his mistake, Aiden chuckled sheepishly and patted Mora
Kira's body tensed with fear as Dave's rough hand gripped her tightly from behind. He had come back after some time, not answering her question about what he meant by them leaving, and now she found herself in the woods, heading to where she didn't even know, with Dave behind her.Her arms were bound tightly, with the rope behind her back digging into her skin. Every step was forced as Dave pushed her to move, his hold strong and relentless. He was in control."Where are you taking me?" She asked as she turned her head, her heart racing. She herself could hear the panic that crept into her words. But there was no answer from Dave, just a sharp shove that made her stumble forward again."Shut up and move faster." Dave growled in her ear, his voice tight and low. "I did not think you would be this stubborn. At the rate at which you talk, you will blow off my eardrums. Maybe when we get to our destination, I will do something about that mouth of yours. Might even consider redeveloping it
Kira struggled to make sense of what he meant now. "What was he talking about again?" She asked herself before asking him. "Remember what?"Dave's response to that initially was his face softening, as if he was savoring a private, twisted memory. Then there came a slow, affectionate smile that spread across his lips as he raised his hand from her arm, and reached up to gently caress her cheek."My sweet," he murmured.Kira instinctively turned her face sharply away from his touch in disgust, leaving his hand hanging in the air for a moment. "How stubborn." Dave said as he let out a soft chuckle while staring at his hanging hand. "Tsk, tsk," he shook his head, disapproving of her behavior. Suddenly, he grabbed her face roughly, making her wince, his fingers digging into her skin as he forced her to look at him, "You are pushing me," he said to her, "But, I won't budge."Then he smiled, a smile which reflected his obsession and madness."Now, I would like to continue with what you se
Back at the quiet structure where the Alpha twins and Ryker were, Bryan and Aiden had thought about what Ryker had said, believing he was right. The three of them stepped outside, and Aiden immediately called out to the warriors who were guarding the place."Alpha!" They answered in unison, straightening up."Fan out and search the perimeter," Aiden ordered, his voice ringing out with no hesitation. "Look for anything. I do not care whatever it is, make sure you find something. Broken branches, torn clothes, footprints—anything at all that will lead to where our beloved is... Find it… Find Her!""Yes, Alpha!" The warriors responded and dispersed, moving quickly into the surrounding woods. After issuing the order, Bryan, Aiden, and Ryker shared a brief look and nodded at each other before turning to search as well.Deeper in the woods, Kira's heart raced as she was being dragged further away by Dave. His hold on her was like an iron grip, forcing her to walk. "If you won't use those l
As instructed, they all remained seated and waited patiently for her. No one said anything, and surprisingly, the silence wasn't empty. It didn't have any tension; it was comfortable, but still had the feel of emotions that weren't spoken. Along with that, Kira sat still, maybe not too still as she kept tapping her feet on the ground and her fingers lightly on her knee while glancing around and often stealing glances at Bryan and Aiden, who would also look at her from time to time and wink, even though they were all seated on one couch. And then, footsteps. It was soft but firm, quick yet steady in approach.Elara walked back into the room holding books and pens. She moved quietly, her face not giving away anything as she walked toward them."Tear a sheet of paper and place it on your book when given to you," she said, giving all of them instructions as she stopped in front of Orion and gave him a book and a pen. Then, she turned and walked to where Bryan, Aiden, and Kira were seated
Aiden shook his head softly at his mother and sighed, "We were not pretending to be happy. We were genuinely happy.""Yeah," Bryan and Kira murmured, concurring with what Aiden had said."That is what I don't understand," Elara said to them, the confused expression still etched on her face. "How can you be happy? This is very sad news. Extremely sad, and even I, myself, am still trying to wrap my head around the whole situation. So, how?""Mum, I understand you completely," Kira said. "I also cried, then we cuddled and then at dinner everyone was together again. Even my emotions right now are inconsistent because I don't know if I should cry, be sad, be happy or think about it, as we have been given a specific time to be together and so cuddling with them, talking and laughing at dinner helped me realize that it was better to be happy and just forget about the sad stuff for the moment. Leaving you all is already sad for me; you have no idea. But staying… even if it is my last day here
Dinner was great as always—the laughing, the conversation, the playful banter, everything. It was no surprise that manners were forgotten at the dining table, hence the talking while eating, and now everyone was relaxed and chatting as they were all done eating."Dad, Aiden and Bryan are just… they just won't stop messing with me," Kira complained to Orion, gesturing to Aiden and Bryan, who were grinning at first but immediately kept their faces serious when she complained about them."What now?" Orion asked Kira after looking over at his twins. "What are they doing this time?""Nothing," Bryan answered before Kira could. "We are literally not doing anything to her except keeping her on her toes. She can't even stay still on those toes, you know. We are simply just having fun, father.""Exactly," Aiden said and nodded in agreement. "We are not doing anything to her.""Seriously?" Kira asked them, although she hid her smile and feigned annoyance, just so Orion could side with her."So
Kira's mouth dropped open. "You—!"But before she could even finish what she was about to say, Bryan, who was already close to her, leaned down and planted a quick peck on her cheek, making her eyes widen instantly. The audacity! Then, without giving her a chance to retaliate, he moved past her and took his seat at the dining table like nothing had happened.Laughing softly and shaking his head, Aiden stepped closer to Kira and stood beside her. "Bryan, I don't even know what to say to you," he muttered, while still laughing.Meanwhile, Elara and Orion looked at each other with amused expressions before turning their attention back to Kira."Well, at least he was honest about it." Orion said to Kira while chuckling, enjoying how his son teased her. "I'll get back at you, Bryan Tyrell," Kira threatened, narrowing her eyes at Bryan and crossing her arms. "Oh, I will!"Still laughing softly, Aiden leaned in and pressed a soft peck to the side of her head. "Don't mind him," he murmured a
Kira smiled warmly and raised her hand to Aiden's cheek. She caressed his cheeks, her smile growing wider, before she leaned in and gave him a soft peck on the lips. "Let's go," she whispered, her gaze not leaving his.Aiden nodded and smiled back as he started pulling away to stand; his heart warmed from her gentle affection and soft peck.As Kira sat up and got ready to get out of bed, she glanced around, noticing that Bryan wasn't in the room. "Where's Bryan?" She asked Aiden, her brows furrowed slightly. "Did he go somewhere?"Aiden opened his mouth to respond, but before he could speak, the bathroom door opened and Bryan walked out."I'm here," Bryan said in a casual, deep voice. "Missing me already?"Kira turned, a smile creeping up her face again. "Yes. As a matter of fact, I missed you so very much," she admitted as she got up and walked toward him before he could reach the bed.She stood close, Bryan looking at her with a playful smile and a raised eyebrow. He tilted his h
Kira walked slightly ahead of her mates as they returned home together, her heart and mind full.Aiden was the first to take her hand, walking closer and slipping his hand under hers before curling his fingers around hers. His grip was gentle at first, and then he held her closer. As Kira felt his hold, she turned her head slightly, her brown eyes meeting his dark ones, and smiled softly at him before looking ahead again.Meanwhile, Bryan, watching them, walked closer. He decided to do the same as his brother and slid his fingers between Kira's, his hold warm. Kira smiled softly and turned to him, not surprised that he had followed Aiden, her eyes full of love.As they held her hands and walked back home, they didn't let go, and soon they reached the mansion. The house was quiet when they stepped inside, but they didn't stop. They walked up the stairs and entered their bedroom together, still holding hands. It was only when they reached the bed after shutting the door did they final
Leaning into Bryan, Kira took slow, uneven breaths, trying to calm herself. She knew it wasn't their fault for making such a decision, but it didn't help with how she felt inside. She was sad, exhausted and emotionally drained. She knew they would do anything for her, yet those words, "We can't ask you to wait for us," lingered, and it pained her so much. It pained her that there was nothing much she could do but leave. Staying might destroy them even more than leaving. And Kira knew that. She let out a shaky breath as Bryan rubbed her back and whispered sweet, soft words to her, her weight pressing into him as she could no longer really hold herself up. "It's okay," Bryan murmured, his chin resting lightly on the top of her head while he continued rubbing her back in slow, comforting circles. "We are here. We got you."Hearing those words from him almost made her start crying again, but she held back and nodded against his chest, whispering, "I know, and I got you too."Bryan, also
Stepping outside, Bryan leaned against the outer wall. He tilted his head back and closed his eyes, his chest heaving as he tried to calm himself and steady his breathing, but that was impossible. The ache in his heart refused to let up. He took deep breaths and exhaled shakily, his knuckles already white because of how tightly he balled his fists. After some minutes of inhaling and exhaling, he tightened and relaxed his fists, before he felt a hand on his shoulder.Bryan didn't need to check when he felt the hand on his shoulder; he just prepared himself, knowing what was coming, and he knew that whatever was coming was going to be for the best."You know what we have to do." Aiden's voice was low, controlled, and filled with the pain he didn't try to hide. He stepped closer, his hand still on Bryan's shoulder. "It will be for the best.""I know, Aiden," Bryan nodded, his throat tightening as his voice broke slightly. "I know. I just—" He stopped, closed his eyes and sucked in anot
Aiden raked a hand through his hair, the hopelessness of the situation frustrating the life out of him. "I don't understand," he said to Morane, the frustration in his tone fully on display. "There has to be another way! What do you mean, we have to stop being mates?""Look, I am not angry with you. You have done a lot for us, and we are genuinely grateful, but this…this was the last thing I expected to hear. I never even expected to ever hear such," he said as he leaned forward slightly and ran his hands over his face before gripping his hair in desperation. "This curse of a thing is just so exhausting.""I know, I understand," Morane said, raising her hands slightly. "But listen to me first. Please calm down," she said softly, fully understanding what the three of them were currently going through. "The curse can only be broken by the witch who cursed you or someone from her bloodline. Do you understand what that means? We do not even know who the witch is. Talk more about someone f
