As much as Adrianna was back home safe, Roman still was not happy with the way things turned out. He was angry at himself for letting any harm come to Adrianna in the first place. She was his guest, and no harm should come to the guest of the Alpha.

Roman was seated alone in his study, deep in thought when Lucas stepped in. He had checked everywhere for him but couldn't find him, so he was confident that the man would be in his study.

“Alpha,” he called before sitting opposite Roman. He was as always expecting Roman to scold him for calling him Alpha when they were all alone, but Roman didn't.

Roman didn't speak to him as he was still deep in thought. He knew Lucas stepped in.
