CHAPTER 85: LIAM

The café is bustling with activity, but my mind is elsewhere. I sit at a corner table, absently stirring a coffee that's long gone cold. Serena is late, as usual, and I can't help but wonder if she's doing it on purpose, dragging this out to make it harder for me. I know this meeting is going to be ugly. It's a confrontation I've put off long enough, and I need to end this once and for all.

When the door finally opens, and I see her walk in with Marco, my stomach tightens. Marco's presence is the last thing I need right now. His swagger and cocky grin set my teeth on edge. But I keep my composure, standing up as they approach the table.

Serena's eyes are cold, and her smile doesn't reach them. "Liam," she says coolly. "You look like hell."

I don't bother with pleasantries. "We need to talk," I say, cutting straight to the point.

Marco snorts, sliding into the seat across from me. "What's this about, Caruso? Got more bad news?"
