MARCELLA’S POV

My feet lifted off the ground propelled forward by relief and excitement, my arms spread out like a butterfly freed from its cocoon as I run towards Uncle Tee. I wrapped my arms around his torso, a bulge in his shirt poked me and I flinched playfully as my uncle hugged me back with a weak smile.

“I knew you would make it” I said looking up at him.

“Well what do we say…”

“Uncle Tee always survives” we said in unison our voice spreading across the room as eyes shifted from the dead body lying on the floor to my Uncle and I.

“Welcome home man” my brother said patting him on the shoulder.

“We need to talk Marcella” uncle said to me sounding serious all of a sudden.

I was about asking how he survived and escaped the Mexican mafia, but his tone alerted me there was a more serious issue at hand.

“What is it uncle Tee” I asked, grabbing a seat nearby. Father had wheeled his chair away from us and was now talking to Big Jim, the man behind the money counting machine. I

MARCELLA’S POVZak was still pacing, his hands occasionally brushing through his hair. “You don’t get to pull that off again” he warned. I remained silent and it annoyed him more.“Say something you motherfucking piece of shit!” he said slamming a fist into the bed, this caused me to jerk a little but I remained unshaken.“Fine, don’t say anything, I’m just gonna leave, I’ve been here for too long, I don’t want Salvador to start looking around for me.” He informed me then picked up the dustbin again and started walking away. I ceased the opportunity to tuck the piece of glass I had stollen under my pillow.“Why?” I asked just as he reached the door. He turned around and walked back towards me.“Why what?” he asked confused“Why do you work for him if you fear him this much” I dared to ask.“You shouldn’t concern yourself with that” he said simply then turned away.“What does he have on you” I pressed on, He froze in his tracks. “you’re a man too, equally feared and reverend when Salvad

MARCELLA’S POV“I brought you breakfast” Zak said as he stepped into the room. I turned briefly to acknowledge his presence then brought my attention back to the window where I had been siting for the last three or four hours watching the sun rise.“it’s a really bright day” he added then set the tray on the bed beside me and walked to the other side of the window. “You know starving yourself wouldn’t change anything right?” he asked in a tone that made me even more determined to continue my hunger strike.I was weak, I was dizzy and I was hungry but I was equally too stubborn to accept the reality, me starving myself for three days has yielded no results. At each meal time, Zak would bring a plate to my room, I watched each plate with wet appetite determined not to break my fast.I shifted on the bed in a painfully slow manner, every muscle ached and every bone had become stiff. My ankle was sore from the un-relieving pressure of the chains around it, a few blisters hard formed from

MARCELLA’S POVA throbbing headache woke me up, I shifted uneasily on the bed and tried to get up, that was when I realized the shackles on my feet. I tagged desperately on the chains that held me bound, but it fitted tightly around my ankle and the other end secured to the foot end of the bed. There was no escape, I slapped my forehead in frustration knowing I was stuck here, my family wouldn’t come to my rescue, no, not in the face of countless threats from Salvador and Zak. Through the window, I could see the dark skies, no stars, no moon, just pitch-black sky, there was no hope, I was stuck here with Salvador.I coiled back into the bed, tears immediately soaked the pillow, Salvador knew I wouldn’t survive if I tried to escape, yet he had to do the extra by keeping me bound. I had accepted my fate, knowing I was in this alone, this time not even Antonio would be able to find me.I wondered if he was back in Italy, if he knew what had happened, would he even bother looking for me

  • THE MAFIAS BETRAYED BRIDE: A Game of Revenge   CHAPTER FIFTY-SEVEN

ANTONIO'S POVWe spent the rest of the day searching the house for any clues Alberta may have left behind to guide our search. Aside the dusty surfaces, the house looked well arranged, she seemed to have taken her time to clean up and put things in order before leaving. This also threatens to prove Alvarez’s theory that, Alberta left on her own accord and was indeed determined not to be found.I stepped into Alberta’s room hoping to find any clues of her whereabouts but the empty room only made my heart sink with disappointment. I walked around the empty room for a while before accepting the reality and stepping out. The guest room where mother occupied now was to the left of Albertas room. The door was slightly ajar and I spotted mom sleeping soundly. I tiptoed into the room and gave her a goodnight kiss before adjusting the duvet over her shoulders. She looked tired and deserved the rest, so I sneaked back out making sure not to wake up.“Bratva” Alvarez called just as I stepped out

  • THE MAFIAS BETRAYED BRIDE: A Game of Revenge   CHAPTER FIFTY-FIVE

MARCELLA’S POV I soon found my self seated at the back of Salvadors SUV. I felt I had been in this situation before a few months ago, except this time, in different cloths, my hair was a mess and I hadn’t showered in two days. The seat beside me dipped as Salvador occupied it, a serious expression on his face as he slammed the door shut. “Don’t fucking do that again!” He scolded immediately he sat in the car. I just scoffed and folded my arms across my chest.”and don’t do that either” he added as the car came to life and zoomed out of the compound. “…do what?” I chuckled with a shrug, then went ahead to fold my arms again. “…that, that right there. The attitude, I am your husband!” He growled. “I don’t acknowledge that, and I am never going to accept it” I replied. “Well, then I guess we will have to do this the hard way!” He said then instantly pinned me to the seat with his masculinity, he started wrapping a duct tape around my wrist, binding then together behind me. “
