RICARDO’S POV

When I got into the car Argo pulled into the driveway and drove off with my men in the other jeeps following suit.

It pained me to see my men hurt, especially Angelo whom I have taken to be like my younger brother. But the Mafia's code as a leader was never to show emotions in front of your men.

So I buried all my emotions and kept my usual cold expression as I asked “Give me our situation report,“ I instructed Angelo.

“When you left that day at exactly 2 pm, our alarms began blaring notifying us that someone had broken into our estate, before we even had the chance to check who, we began hearing gunshots, many of our men were killed but we fought them till we killed each one of them,“ Angelo explained sadly.

“What happened to you, boss?“ Angelo asked and I discovered we were already pulling into my estate.

“We'll continue this discussion in my study,“ I said and silence ensued till we reached the main house and got out of the car with Angelo walking by my side.

I bought this estate for myself and gang members because I wanted them to stay close to me where I would be able to protect them and they too would be able to protect me.

After my Dad died a shocking death, it affected my mother mentally and that was why she was in a mental home care. Most people thought she died with my dad but she didn't.

My dad didn't live with his gang members in the same environment. I felt that was why his enemies were able to terminate him easily.

But I, being the present king of the mafia world, knew I couldn’t make the same mistake my father made. I promised to keep my people close and safe so that we could protect each other.

What I could boast of was that since I became the mafia King, my hands weren’t soaked with the blood of the innocent nor was I responsible for the death of any innocent person. I hated it when the innocent were killed.

I felt mafia business should be between mafia gangs and ordinary people should be left out of any conflict.

I always referred to ordinary people as the innocent because they weren’t members of the mafia world.

I only killed those who betrayed me, stole from me, or tried to hurt my family. I had never laid hands on any innocent person because I felt that they too needed protection.

As I walked into my house, my men welcomed me back. My heart ached to see them all with bruises and injuries, but they still welcomed and greeted me with smiles.

I went into my study and headed straight to my desk. After I sat down and Angelo did the same, I began to massage my temple feeling frustrated and angry.

“Angelo I think someone wants our gang dead but the question is who?“ I asked confused.

I went on to explain what happened to me that day on the bridge and how Valentina saved me.

“But what I don't seem to understand is how they knew you would be passing that road and also when you left here, the timing was just too accurate, it seems like we have a betrayer amongst us,“ Angelo said after he listened to my explanation attentively.

It was after he said this that it dawned on me to call the mental care home and know how my mom was doing. If they knew when I was coming, chances might be that they sent a spy to follow me. I just hope I was wrong.

I took the telephone on my desk and dialed the mental care founders line only for me to hear a voice that wasn't his.

“Hello, this is the police, we are sorry but Mr. Hackins is dead, along with everyone else in this mental facility, it seems like it was a massacre…. “ The police said and continued talking but I couldn't hear the rest of what he was saying.

I just sat frozen on my seat in shock with the telephone slowly slipping down my hands and a lone tear slipping from my eye.

The person in my family whom I cherished the most was now dead. My mom who was the one I was still living for was now dead.

“ Argh!!!!!“ I yelled in pain, anger, and grief as I turned to Angelo who heard everything too and had a sad look on his face.

“I'll make sure I take everything and everyone they love one by one and make them feel the pain of losing a loved one. I will take everything from them and in my hands, they will die a slow and very painful death,“ I said as my face hardened with anger.

Angelo wanted to say something when suddenly the door to my study opened and Rizzo, our cyber guru and hacker, came in with a smile on his face and his laptop. If only he knew that this wasn't the time for smiles or jokes.

“You would love to hear what I just found out, boss,“ Rizzo said and came to sit on the chair beside Angelo. Again I had to mask my grieving face for when I was alone and tried to focus on what Rizzo found out.

“I have good news and bad news. Which do I begin with?“ Rizzo asked me and I was beginning to grow impatient.

“Ugh! Just go straight to the point Riz,“ I snapped at him and he immediately stood up from the chair he was sitting with a serious face as he brought his laptop to me with Angelo following suit wanting to see what it was that Riz found.

“First off, the good news is that we have found the leader of the gang that hijacked our shipment. They call themselves the Red Wolves. they were caught when they tried to sell out drugs not knowing that they were packaged with our gang name,“ Riz said.

I was pleased to know that we had our shipment back but that wasn't my major concern. I wanted to hunt those who attacked our estate, tried to kill me, and killed my mom.

“Send men to bring them here and keep them in the red room,“ I instructed and a smile appeared on Riz’s face instantly.

“Thought you might say that boss, our men have caught them already and are on their way here with all the members of the gang,“ He said and I would be lying if I said I wasn't impressed, but my problem was that why the fuck was he smiling.

“Smile again Riz and I'll cut your tongue off, “ I said to Rizzo whose smile immediately disappeared and I heard Angelo stifle laughter.

“Okay, now the bad news is that I hacked into the gang’s Database and saw that they had been exchanging emails with several other gangs and it's not good because they are planning to rebel against you. But what caught my attention was that they exchanged more emails and calls with a certain Mr. Santiago Di Maria. One thing is for sure boss, War is coming to the underground world,“ Riz explained and clicked on the message that was sent by Mr. Santiago.

It read “I have already told Diego and his men to eliminate Ricardo on his way from the mental home care, all you have to do is distract his men by stealing their shipment. Everything has been put in place to help facilitate this operation,“.

So this bastard is the one who sent for my mother to her early grave, it meant they have been keeping tabs on me for a long time. At that point all I wanted was to spill a lot of blood and revenge, that was what I was gonna do and nothing was going to stop me.

I didn't fucking care if I'd commit many sins and crimes just to get this done. After all sin, blood, and crime were all I had been committing since I became the mafia king.

“Get me all the loved ones of this Mr. Santiago, that'll lure him here, and then I'll be the one to send him to hell myself,“ I said through gritted teeth with my nose flaring and my breaths becoming erratic.

“I already searched for that boss and he has just one loved one,“ Riz answered.

“Bring whoever the fuck it is here and lock the person up till I'm done with the red Wolves gang, then I'll face the person. The war has just begun, let's see who gets the final laugh,“ I said with a deadly look on my face.

“Boss the Red Wolves gang has been brought into the estate and they are in the Red Room now. Do we have your permission to kill them all?“ Mario one of my strongest men, popped his head into my office after slightly opening the door.

“No, I want to kill them myself,“ I said and stood up to follow Mario to the red room.

We all left my study. Rizzo went to carry out all that I said while Mario, Angelo, and I went to the red room to see those assholes that dared to steal from me.

The Red room was on the west wing of my estate. Only when we left my study and came outside to go to the red room, did I notice that it was already dark.

When I got into the room, I saw all the Red Wolves gang members tied to chairs. Why were they even making these bastards feel comfortable they would have left them to sit on the cold floor.

The room was red and so were the lights in here, it was a room meant for torturing my enemies and those who offended me into spilling out the information I needed. But, I chose to give a name less scary which is why I called it the Red Room.

Immediately the gang members noticed I came in they all smirked at the same time and all the thought of torturing them left my mind due to the kind of rage I felt and I quickly collected the gun Mario was holding.

“Die you bastards,“ I yelled and shot each member of the Red Wolves in the middle of their forehead blowing their brains out in the process.

“Boss, What happened to us getting some Information from them? “ Angelo asked and facepalmed.

“I changed my mind. I just couldn't stand them anymore,“ I paused and looked at the blood splashed on my hands and clothes. I needed to go take a shower.

“Send each of their dead bodies and put them at the gates of each gang territory in this city, this will serve as a warning and a message to them all. I am the king of them all and nothing can change that,“ I instructed Mario who nodded his head in understanding.

“Consider it done boss,“ Mario said and I turned to leave but Rizzo came in.

“Boss we have brought in Mr. Santiago's only relative as a captive “ Rizzo said.

“That was fast,” Angelo mumbled but I heard him since he was standing close to me.

“Bring the relative in,“ I said in a voice laced with anger and pure venom.

The door opened and two of my men brought in a lady, I didn't get a clear picture of her until they sat her down, and then Boom, I saw a face I could never forget in a hurry.

Instantly. I began to feel chills down my spine and just stood dumbfounded with an unreadable expression on my face.

RICARDO’S POV The person I saw sitting on the chair being mishandled and roughly tied to the chair was none other than Valentina, the woman who saved me. “Boss, isn't that the lady whose house we came to pick you up from earlier today? I mean the one who saved you?'' Angelo whispered to me. Angelo also recognized her, so that meant I wasn't just imagining things. Before I could order my men to wait before removing the blindfold from Valentina, they removed it. Her purple eye which I liked a lot popped open but she squinted trying to adjust her sight. I stood rooted where I was, utterly confused and not knowing what to do, but still, not even for a second did I remove my eyes from her. Her eyes widened with realization when she made direct eye contact with me. “ Mr?“ She asked as she scanned everyone standing around me with a gun and her gaze lingered on my bloodstained hands and shirt with fear. She then turned, seeing blood on the floor and the dead men with their brains shot ou

I began to struggle to free myself then I heard a voice. “If you move one more time I'll kill you before we even get to meet the boss, don't test my patience young lady,“ A deep masculine voice said with warning. “Who are you and where are you taking me?“ I asked not minding what the man said. “Shut up,“ The masculine voice said again and tied my mouth while I struggled for him not to, but it was all to no avail because he was stronger than I was. “Drive faster Rocco,“ The masculine voice said, and only then did I realize I was in transit. Where the hell were they taking me to, I thought to myself as fear instantly enveloped me. I decided not to struggle anymore since I knew that they were dangerous and re
