CHAPTER TWENTY TWO- His past

I wait for a minute or two before I broke the silence between us. “why don’t we play 21 questions?”

He turns to me looking confused. “What’s that?...”

“It’s a game where we ask each other 21 questions and we have to answer truthfully.” I smile softly as he nods.

“Okay, let’s do that….” He says and guides me to seat at the edge of our bed.

“So….what is your favorite colour?” I ask.

He bursts out laughing, surprising me. His rich octave voice rumbled through the room causing me to also giggle softly.

After a minute of pure laughter, we pant slightly, catching our breaths. “Why did you laugh?”

“What do you really want to ask me?” he smirks.

My stomach flutters slightly. “Umh….how about you just tell me how you joined the mafia?” I bite my lip anxiously.

His smile thins slightly as he nods slowly. “I was born in Italy by a single mother, her name was Aria.”
