ZARA

I Sat back on the bed as soon as Ezra left, I let the tears in my eyes flow out, I was so sad, he said I ruined his life and I don’t understand how is being an Omega a sin. Why do Alphas look down on us so badly?

“You know, you can always reject him!” I lifted my head to see Norah staring at me, I didn’t even know when she walked in here. I didn’t pay any attention to her, I kept staring at my feet, not acknowledging her presence.

“He’s mine, and he’ll never love you!” She said again, I lifted my head and stared at her.

“You’ll never be his mate,” I said softly.

“Is that what you think? Do you think we cannot become chosen mates?” She asked. A chosen mate, I never thought of that.

“You’ll still never have the connection we share,” I said and she busted into laughter, immediately she laughed, I understood how foolish my words were, we do not share any connection and we never will.

“Oh please, I’m not ready for this right now, go grab your bags, we are leaving!” She said, then a burst of evil laughter followed suit. “Oh, I forgot, you did not bring anything.” She said, she continued laughing but immediately paused when Lizzo walked in.

“You better get your filthy ass out of my room!” Lizzo snarled at her, she rolled her eyes and then gazed at me.

“You better not keep us waiting!” She said, and then stormed away, I couldn’t help the tears that slid down my eyes. The thought of being with Ezra in the same house is so terrifying, and to add up to my troubles, Norah is gonna be there.

“Oh my God! Did she say mean things to you?” Lizzo immediately lovingly held my arm.

“No, she didn’t,” I said, she wiped my tears with her palm.

“Don’t cry okay? I told you, Ezra isn’t that bad, just stay clear of him when he looks pissed off.” She said, I nodded.

“Thank you!” I said to her, she smiled, a reliable smile that assured me that there was more to life than the sorrow I was facing.

“Don’t thank me, we are now sisters, okay?” She said, I hugged her, she was making me feel emotional.

“Thank you!” I said once again and she busted into laughter.

“Alright, come on, we don’t wanna make Ezra mad, I packed some of my clothes for you yesterday, I hope you love them.” She said, I placed my arm over my mouth.

“Oh no, please I can’t take them.”

I said, she spanked my arm playfully and then took calm strides towards her wardrobe, she pulled out a suitcase and pulled it towards me.

“Go! Ezra just mind-linked me and he is already pissed.” Her words made my heart skip a beat, I gulped and she chuckled.

“Don’t speak back to him, just let him yell, come, I’ll accompany you.” She said.

“Thank you for everything Lizzo, you’ve been more than a sister to me,” I said, she chuckled.

“You’re my Queen, it’s my job as your loyal servant to serve you!” She said, I hugged her one last time. We broke the hug and took calm strides outside, a guard sighted us and grabbed the suitcase, and accompanied us outside. I couldn’t help but glance at the beautiful artifacts in the castle, it was very pretty and I wish I could work here as a maid and not be mates to Ezra. I couldn’t feel Selena, it was as if she was dead and that scared me a lot, my wolf has never been so distant from me before.

When we got to the parking lot, we approached a black Mercedes and its window went down, Ezra was seated in there with Norah, and her head was placed on his shoulder, I didn’t fail to see the grin on her face the moment she saw me, it was clear that she derives joy from my misery.

“Ezra, where will she sit?” Lizzo asked, she looked very timid when she spoke to him, I couldn’t blame her, the man was scary. He was handsome and all, but the scar at his left eye made him look beastly and dangerously handsome.

“She can sit with the guards!” He said, Lizzo’s mouth went agape.

“But she’s their Queen, you can’t…” He shot her a very deadly glare.

“Are you trying to speak back to your king?” He asked dangerously, I could hear her gulp, so I placed my right arm on her shoulder.

“It’s okay, I’m used to sitting with the guards,” I whispered to her. But I was certain Ezra heard, I even dared steal a glance at him, he wasn’t smiling and there was no doubt I irritated him beyond words, Norah, on the other hand, didn’t seize to have a grin on her face.

Nevertheless, I hugged Lizzo once we were before the car, the guards were staring at me weirdly, they were three in number and all had shock visible on their faces.

“I’m going to miss you! Make sure you check the blue bag in the suitcase, there’s a surprise there for you.” She said, she was so sweet and nothing like her brother.

“Okay, I will, Thank you so-” I was cut short when the horn of Ezra’s car blared through the castle compound.

“Bye!” Lizzo waved at me, and the guard that had accompanied us helped me put my things in the boot, I sat in the car with a guard, and he looked at me sadly.

“Take good care of her Luciano,” Lizzo said, the bodyguard whose name is Luciano nodded.

“Sure, Princess!” Luciano said and Lizzo smiled before waving at me, the car was immediately ignited and since Ezra's car was to leave first, we had to follow immediately. Lizzo waved her arms off at the car as we drove off, she didn’t look happy though, but there was nothing she could do to help me, and we both knew that.

As soon as the car hit the busy street, I placed my head on the window, staring at the buildings as we passed by.

“Care for some chocolate, your highness!” I heard Luciano say to me, I turned to him and nodded no. Luciano was very handsome, he had blue eyes that reminded me so much of Willow.

“Sorry to ask your majesty, did you perhaps work for Alpha Helen?” He asked, I nodded. He smiled broadly at my reply.

“That means you are Zara, Willows's friend.” He said, I nodded my head happily.

“Are you the relative she always speaks about? Are you her brother?” I asked.

“No, I’m not her brother, she’s a distant relative of mine, though sadly, she falls under the Omega rank!” He said. I rose a brow, he was an Omega, what was he saying?

“Aren’t you an Omega?” I asked in a duh tone. He chuckled, he took a bite of his chocolate bar before speaking.

“No, I’m not an Omega, I’m a Beta, I’m your mate's best friend and Beta!” He said, it was a shocker.

“Sorry I didn’t know that!” I apologized immediately, it was considered an insult if you rank a Beta or an Alpha as an Omega.

“You didn’t know, and we are not equals, my Queen does not need to apologize to me.” He said, I smiled, if only his words were true, Queen, what funny words to refer to me as.

“Call me Zara, please,” I said and he nodded.

“Zara! That means radiance, a beautiful name for a pretty Queen!” He curtseyed jokingly and I chuckled.

“Are we gonna stay in the same house?” I asked.

“Wherever the Lycan King goes, I go!” He said I was glad to know we’d stay in the same house, at least I will have good company.

“That’s great!” I said, he smiled charmingly. He looked outside the window and then took a deep breath.

“We are almost home!” He said, he passed me a wrapped chocolate bar and I collected it, I was hungry, I hadn’t had breakfast and I guess till will do for now. I hope the human world brings me immense happiness, I hope I’m not failing to my doom!
