ZARA

Getting home, I took a deep breath. The aura around her was so cringed, I felt so awkward, especially the fact that Ezra was there.

“Bye, see you at dinner!” Luciano said to me, we were already in the mansion. I looked around calmly, hoping not to see Ezra or that stupid girlfriend of theirs. The sight of her simply irritates me, she’s so stupid. Well, I walked upstairs toward my room, I was very tired and since my stomach was already filled, I decided to sleep. I lay on the bed as soon as I pushed my door open, I was so exhausted, even though I practically did nothing at all.

Suddenly, I remembered Lizzo had asked me to check the bag she had packed for me, I got up swiftly, wondering what could be there and why she had wanted me to check it.

I immediately pulled the bag and unzipped it, I dipped my hand into the place she had instructed me to and pulled out an iPhone 13, I was very shocked because this was the phone Alpha Helen was using, I let a scream out. Well, I knew how to operate it, so I turned it on and the iPhone logo appeared, it had no password and Face ID. I knew how to operate an iPhone because Alpha Helen always leaves her phone with me when she bathes, she also orders me to answer calls and text people.

I immediately dived into the call log and Lizzo’s number was saved, and there was also a SIM card. I happily dialed her number and she picked up on the first dial.

“I’ve been expecting your call, Zara!” Lizzo said.

“Lizzo! Oh my God! I can’t believe you got me a phone.” I said, I was so overwhelmed.

“Believe it dear! I told you, you and I are now family.” She said, I couldn’t help but feel a bit special.

“Thanks for your love, how are you?” I asked.

“I’m good, I started school yesterday, I hate it.” She said, I couldn’t help but chuckle.

“At least you go to school!” I said, she chuckled sadly.

“How’s Ezra? I hope he isn’t treating you badly.” She said, I chuckled.

“I haven’t seen him today, I went out to search for a job,” I said, I approached my bed and lay on it.

“A job? For what reason? Ezra had everything you’ll ever need.” She said. I took in a deep breath and explained everything to her, including my encounter with Xavier Moon and his job proposal.

“I hope you accepted it?” She asked, I chuckled.

“I didn’t, he is our enemy,” I said.

“What the fuck, how can you refuse his job proposal? He is Ezra’s enemy and not yours.” She said, I took in a deep.

“I don’t wanna get into any trouble,” I said, she immediately cut the call. And in a second, I heard the phone ringing, it was FaceTime. I picked it up immediately and she had a scowl on her face.

“You are going to call Xavier Moon and accept the freaking job!” She said, I chuckled.

“You look like a baby when mad!”

I said, I tried digressing from the topic.

“Zara, Ezra doesn’t want you and from what you just told me, Xavier seems to be interested.” She said, I couldn’t believe her words right now.

“What do you mean?” I asked, and she chuckled.

“He must like you, that’s why he approached you.” She said, I rolled my eyes at her.

“Common girl, you can’t turn a blind eye to him, he walked up to you.” She said.

“That’s because I am Ezra's mate, his arch nemesis,” I said, she rolled her eyes.

“Who cares, at least you’ll get a job and you’ll get paid heftily.” She said.

“I’ll think about it,” I said.

“There’s nothing to think about my dear Zara, you need this job. Ezra will throw you out if you don’t get this job, trust me, I know my brother.” She said, my heart skipped a calm beat.

“I wish you could reject him.” She said when I said nothing.

“Omegas can’t reject Alphas, and I wonder why he didn’t reject me,” I said. She took in a very deep breath.

“I don’t know.” She said. “But it is nothing good, trust me.” She said, I busted into laughter at the seriousness of her tone and facials.

Well, we spoke for hours before I decided I needed a hot bath. I entered the bathroom and took a very hot shower and then decided to get dressed in nightwear because it was already evening. I wasn’t going to be going out, so I might as well just get dressed into my sleeping clothes.

My stomach rumbled, so I decided to get myself some food, I was a bit hungry. So I got out of my room calmly and headed downstairs. I made sure I didn’t make a noise, the mansion was silent and scanty, it seemed everyone was still at work. I was glad about this because I will not be seeing Ezra’s face.

I walked into the kitchen and the maid was busy cooking. “Hey, Linda,” I said to her, she turned to me with a smile on her face.

“The name is Liya, not Linda.” She said sweetly.

“Oh my, I’m sorry, I thought that was your name.” I apologized.

“That is the name the boss and the madam call me, I’m Liya, what’s your name?” She asked sweetly.

“Zara!” I said, she looked at me for a second.

“Radiance, your name is beautiful.” She said, I smiled, she was acting sweeter than earlier.

“Thank you, and your name is very cute,” I said and she chuckled.

“Thanks, care for some food?” She asked and I nodded while rubbing my belly.

“I’m starving!” I said. She chuckled. Liya was young, but she looked older than me.

“Here!” She placed a plate of rice and vegetable on the table that sat in the kitchen.

“Thank you!” I said to her, I sat on the chair that stood before the table, there was already a spoon on the food. I picked it up and scooped the food, I ate from it and it tasted divine.

“Liya, this taste amazing!” I said, she immediately had a broad smile gracing her face.

“I’m glad you love it, wait till you taste my cake.” She said.

“You’re making the cake?” I asked and she nodded.

“Yes, though it’s for the boss.” She said.

“Ezra?” I asked, she looked very shocked for a moment.

“He’s got such a hot name!” She said, I busted into laughter.

“And a hot face!” I said, she busted into laughter.

“Yeah, he loves cake, and he makes me make a cake for him twice a week.” She said, that sounded very weird but well, we all love what we love.

“Is anyone else at home?” I asked. She nodded no.

“Sir Luciano stepped out, and the boss and madam haven’t returned.” I couldn’t help but notice how she refers to Norah with the madam title, it pisses me off a bit to hear that she is being addressed with respect, despite the little whore that she is.

“That’s good, quiet.”

I said, she nodded. She got herself a cup of water and sat before me.

“Sorry to ask, but are you related to the boss?” She asked, I nodded no.

“No, he’s my…” I was so lost for words. What should I even refer to him as, he wasn’t anything to me and he made that clear?

“He’s my boss, I am here for a job,” I said.

“Oh, for a second there I had the impression that you both were lovers.” She said, I busted into laughter.

“Tell me, what's your idea of lovers?” I asked, she chuckled and shrugged.

“Well, I don’t know.” She said, I chuckled.

“Hm, how long have you been working here?” I asked.

“Two years!” She said.

“Wow, that’s a bit long,” I said, she nodded.

“And he does not know your name?” I asked and she nodded.

“At least he calls me by my name, the madam called me MAID,” She said, she didn’t sound happy at all. I couldn’t blame her.

“I bet you don’t like her,” I said, she nodded and we both busted into laughter.

“And you don’t either.” She said, I shrugged and got up calmly.

“It was nice speaking to you, I’m a bit tired and sleepy,” I said, she looked really glad to have spoken to me.

“Good night, I guess you won’t be coming out of your room today.” She said and I nodded.

“Yeah!” I said to her, “Good night my new friend, Liya!” I waved at her before exiting the kitchen. My body was beginning to feel a weird sensation. My heart was pounding as I walked up the stairs. Suddenly, an arm grabbed me.

“You’re in heat.” That was the last thing I heard before I felt darkness consume me and an arm holding onto me tightly. The scent of a man engulfed me as I slowly drifted into a dream World. My body was stiff and I couldn't understand why my heart was beating at the rate that it was at the moment.
