" Her body is still struggling with the poison" Karen could hear soft whispers,

" What do you mean by that?" Another voice asked

" it means that death isn't ready to let go of her just yet"

" What are we going to do"

" Nothing, you're to do absolutely nothing, it's going to take time for her body to heal completely." The first person explained. Karen was really trying hard to see who it was that had this conversation.

" Please I'll do anything just save her life"

" Lewis" she thought as the voice that spoke, sounded familiar

"Karen! Karen!! Karen!!!" immediately she opened her eyes to see Lewis's face just an inch from hers, along with a very worried look,

" Ahh!" She screamed

" Ahh, what happened" he screamed back, as he was startled.

" What the.... I'm sorry but why on earth are you so close to my face?" she asked still looking at him.

" You looked like you were struggling to breathe" Lewis replied.

" That doesn't mean you should be so close"

" Got it, I'm sorry"

" What happened?" she asked as she could see herself on the bed and she also noticed his injured hand was bandaged.

"You fainted" he replied

" That explains this, and where's nurse Stella?"

" She stepped out to make a call to your dad so you'll be taken to a better facility" he explained

" Allen? What about Allen, he's not here yet, I have to go home" she said standing up, about to leave now

" You need to rest a lot, you need a lot of rest. you're weak right now" he said trying to stop her from leaving.

" I'm fine you, I jus..."

" You are not fine, you need rest. You may think everything is fine but it's actually not, lie down and rest" he said not knowing when he started to raise his voice, as he wasn't able to tolerate her stubbornness mixed with his worries.

" Wow, would you just chill out. You are the one who needs to rest not me" Karen said pointing out the fact that he was really hurt as she sat back on the bed not wanting to piss Lewis off again.

" Karen!!" A cry distracted both, Lewis and Karen.

" Oyin!"

"OMG are you alright" she said as she rushed into the room on hearing that her bestie had collapsed.

" I'm fine, there's no need to worry"

" Are you sure?" She said checking to see if Karen had any injury on her.

" I'm fine honestly, I just need to get home, I'm sure Allen must be waiting for me, I have not even prepared my speech for tomorrow, I just need to practice"

" What are you talking about?" Oyin asked in confusion.

" The inauguration ceremony taking place tomorrow, don't you know about it, the entire kingdom is invited."

" What are you talking about?" Oyin's stared at her best friend wondering what kind of gibberish she was spouting.

" I don't have time for this, I need to read for my exams"

" What exams? the semester Just begun" Oyin said trying to explain.

" No, I got to review my paper for Mr Fishers class tomorrow"

" Karen, I love you but right now you're freaking me the fuck out"

" You are the ones who's freaking me out, Allen is supposed to be here by now or didn't anyone tell him I passed out"

" It's impossible for him to be here considering the fact that he has a big game today"

" A game?"

" Yes, the game against the ravens? Does that ring a bell?"

" Yes but that's was 2 years ago" she said confused

" No, you're mistaking Karen, it's today December 13th 2020, what's going on in your head?"

" What that's not possible, it's supposed to be December 13th 2022" she argued.

" Oh boy, Alright, it a fact that everyone wants to finish school in a hurry, but you need to chill. I think you're beginning to lose It little by little or maybe it the side effects of the drugs" she said being worried about her friend while Lewis sat still watching the two girls argue.

" So what you're saying is Allen isn't yet an alpha?"

" Exactly, he hasn't even picked or announced his mate yet"

Karen went quiet trying to calculate everything that was going on in order to make some sense out of it all.

" I need to go" she blurted out.

" Where? you're not fine. I called your dad and he's on his way"

" Tell him, I'll meet him at home"

" What? no!! You have to stay here!!"

" I'll be back, I just need to check on something real quick I promise" she said standing up on her feet and leaving.

" Karen stop!!" She called out as she watched her run outside, her best friend has been someone who could not be stopped when she put her mind to do something.

" Umm, I think I have to go as well" Lewis said grabbing his things along with him. He pulled out his phone and made a quick phone call.

" We have a huge problem!"

" Urgh what problem now?"

" Karen is outside and we need to make sure she's alright" he spoke as the walked down the hallway.

" Outside? why? Isn't she supposed to be resting and I gave you that duty"

" I know that but there was nothing I could do about it"

" Urghhh!!! I don't want to babysit some chick, I don't know"

" Would you just come get me before things get out of hand"

" I'll be there soon give me 45 minutes to get dressed"

" 45 minutes?"

" Yes I need a lot of time to get dressed and you know that"

" No I want you here in 5 minutes"

" Really, after disrupting my schedule, you think you can be demanding now?"

" Xavier!!"

" Fine I'll be there in 5, why am I even your friend" he complained before hanging up.

Karen rushed into the house where she and Allen got after marriage but it was completely empty like no one had ever lived there.

" It all couldn't have been a dream" she said to herself moving to the alpha Benson's Mansion.

She wanted to make sure she wasn't hallucinating or dreaming about any of those stuff she could remember, She walks Right up to the gate with a smile plastered on her face “Good morning”.

" Evans!" She called out

" Good morning" a middle-age man replied as he looked at her with a confused gaze.

" Can I help you young lady?" he asked

" I was wondering if you could open the gate and let me in, I seem to have forgot my keys at home because I was in a hurry to school"

" Missy?"

" OMG, you remember me?" Missy was a very familiar tense Evans use to call her.

" I'm sure you are lost, this is the wrong house"

" it's not, this is Alpha Benson's house right?"

" Yes, it is but I haven't seen you here before, who are you?" he asks just wanting to be sure of the identity of the young woman standing in front of him. Little did he know, that single question broke her heart.

Maybe, just maybe the entire kingdom is trying to play a prank on her, as much as she did not want to admit it she knew she wasn't married to Allen,

" But there must be some proof somewhere that I'm not crazy" she said to herself trying to think as an ideas popped into her head.

" The woods" she whispered underneath her breath before running off.

" Missy!!" Evans called out wondering where she was off to.

" Evans, what was that all about?" Allen asked as his eyes followed Karen .

" it's nothing she was just confused, that's all"

" Oh alright" he had seen Karen from the window of his room where he was.

" Where on Earth is she? we've been driving for more than 30 minutes now, yet no sign of her" Xavier complained as he drove down the streets of Greenmay.

" We'll see her soon"

" You've been saying that since we started driving and this crappy sun is no good for my skin, you know that"

" Would you just quit complaining already, I'm trying to think"

" Oh I'm sorry, I see my needs are not your problem"

" Xavier drive!" Lewis said

" What am I doing then?"

" Be quiet please"

" Yes your Highness, I'll be quiet"

" Thank you"

" thank you" he mimicked under his underneath his breath as he rolled his eyes with his hands on the steering.

" I think I know where she is" Lewis said with a smile on his face.

" Hooray our search for her begins again".

He felt nervous as he entered the hall where the ceremony was taking place He greeted them politely as he made his way to the front row where the groomsmen were seated. Karen’s family couldn’t believe she was gone, their sister was no more, Sylvester’s heart scattered into a million piece. Kelsy had given Lewis the letters she had written before she died. The letters that Karen had left for her loved ones were filled with love and emotion.
