VALERIA’S POV

They couldn’t see it, but I had already cast an invisible protective barrier around myself. The power hummed softly beneath my skin, a shield fueled by my resolve. No matter what they tried to do to me now, their weapons would never touch me.

I stood still, my chin raised, as Dimitri barked orders to the guards. The two men positioned themselves behind me, their whips in hand. I could hear the leather snapping against the air as they tested their weapons, but I didn’t flinch.

“Begin!” Dimitri commanded, his voice sharp and commanding, cutting through the tense silence.

The first lash came down, the whip slicing through the air with a loud crack. I braced myself out of instinct, but when it landed on my back, there was no pain. Nothing. The barrier absorbed the force completely.

Another lash followed, harder this time, but again, there was no pain, no sting, no burning sensation on my skin. I stood tall, my expression calm, and my body unflinching.

The murmurs began almos

VALERIA’S POV“Dimitri…” I managed to choke out, my voice hoarse. His grip faltered just slightly, enough to let me suck in a shallow breath. His eyes narrowed, watching me like a predator sizing up its prey.“I don’t… I don’t know what you mean,” I rasped, playing for time. My mind raced, searching for the right balance between feigned ignorance and reluctant confession. “I—I just survived. That’s all.”He didn’t loosen his grip completely, but I saw the flicker of doubt in his eyes. He didn’t know if I was lying or telling the truth, and that was my advantage.“You expect me to believe that?” he hissed, leaning in closer. His breath was hot against my face, his grip tightening again. “You’re lying to me. I can smell it.”“I’m not lying!” I gasped, my voice cracking. “I swear… I don’t understand it either. I just… survived. That’s all.”I forced myself to meet his gaze, my heart pounding in my chest. I could feel Vyara stirring in the back of my mind, ready to intervene if necessary.

VALERIA’S POVI sat in the center of the room, my fingers tapping idly on the polished wood of the long conference table. For someone who claimed to be clever and calculating, Alpha Dimitri had been stupid enough to leave me here unattended. Or so it seemed. The room was cold, sterile, with an air of detachment that made my skin crawl. This wasn’t a place for strategy; it was a place for intimidation. Everything about it screamed control—the long, imposing table, the rows of identical chairs that lined it, and the faint scent of leather and cigar smoke lingering in the air.I tilted my head slightly, pretending to adjust my hair as I focused my hearing. I strained, listening for the telltale shuffle of feet or the hushed whispers of guards posted outside the door. But there was nothing. The silence beyond the walls was deafening, and that told me one thing: Dimitri didn’t need guards. He was either supremely arrogant, or he thought the surveillance he relied on was enough to keep me i

MAGNAR’S POVI stood frozen, my mind replaying everything I had just witnessed. Valeria—no, that woman—was no longer the weak, trembling girl I had kicked into the lake. She had changed, transformed into someone unrecognizable. Strong. Defiant. Fearless. How did this happen? How was she able to stand there, unyielding, after everything I had done to her? After everything we had done to her?I clenched my fists at my sides, anger and confusion swirling inside me. My wolf was silent now, but I could feel his emotions roiling just beneath the surface. He wasn’t angry; he was… proud? No, that wasn’t right. He felt something for her—something I didn’t want to acknowledge. Was this my fault? Did I break her so completely that she rebuilt herself into someone entirely different? Or was she always like this, hiding her true strength beneath that fragile exterior?I didn’t have time to answer my own questions.“You!” My father’s voice roared from across the field, sharp and filled with fury. “

MAGNAR’S POVIt was well past midnight, and the silence in the packhouse was suffocating. I leaned against the wall outside the meeting room, my arms crossed, my thoughts racing. My father had been in there with Valeria for hours, and I couldn’t shake the unease that had settled over me since they disappeared behind those soundproof walls.I had tried everything—pacing the hallway, sharpening my hearing to pick up any hint of their conversation, but it was useless. Whatever they were discussing, my father had made sure it would remain a secret. What the hell could they possibly be talking about for this long?My wolf was restless, pacing in the back of my mind. He wasn’t used to being kept in the dark, and neither was I. The very idea of my father and Valeria locked in that room, discussing something I wasn’t privy to, was driving me insane.By the time the door finally creaked open, it was close to 1:00 AM. I straightened immediately, my frustration barely contained. My father steppe

VALERIA’S POVBreakfast with the Alpha family was, without a doubt, one of the most uncomfortable meals I’d ever experienced—and that was saying something considering the years I’d spent being degraded as a slave in this very pack. The dining room, grand and imposing, felt suffocating. Every inch of it screamed wealth and power, from the intricate carvings on the chairs to the crystal chandelier that cast its cold light over the long table. It should’ve been a moment of power for them, but the tension in the air was palpable.Dimitri sat at the head of the table, his posture rigid, exuding authority. To his right sat Magnar, his expression carefully blank, though I could feel his eyes on me, constantly observing. Across from him, Luna Mirena sat quietly, her face neutral but her stiff posture betrayed her unease. And then there was me, sitting at the far end like a strange piece that didn’t quite belong in their perfect picture.I knew they were all uncomfortable with my presence. The

MAGNAR’S POVThe restless thoughts I had been carrying since last night still swirled in my mind as I sat on the edge of my bed, my hands clasped together. No matter how many times I replayed the scene in my head, I couldn’t make sense of it. Valeria wasn’t the same person I remembered, and there was no denying that. The quiet, submissive slave who once trembled at my mere presence was gone, replaced by someone with fire in her eyes and an aura that demanded attention.I couldn’t shake the feeling that she was up to something. My instincts screamed it, but there was something else—a pull I couldn’t ignore. It wasn’t the mate bond. That had been severed, or at least I thought it had. No, this was different. I didn’t want to admit it, but I was drawn to her in a way I couldn’t explain. And then there was what happened in the field. The protection barrier. The way she had stood there, unflinching under the lashes, daring my father to do his worst. It didn’t make sense. Unless…Unless she

MAGNAR'S POVI made my way over and deliberately took the seat directly across from her. I wanted to force her to acknowledge me, to look me in the eyes, but she didn’t. Her gaze remained firmly on the plate of pancakes in front of her, her face impassive. It was like I didn’t exist to her.So my presence really didn't effect her. Did she forget what I did?I don't think so, at least I can't forget no matter how hard I try.The room was heavy with silence, save for the occasional clinking of silverware against plates. No one spoke, but I noticed Valeria’s subtle movements. She wasn’t eating mindlessly like the rest of us. Every time she picked up a piece of food, her eyes darted toward my father. She was only eating what he ate.Was she copying him? No. The careful way she watched his actions, the hesitation before taking a bite—it was something else. She didn’t trust us. She didn’t trust him. And, honestly, I couldn’t blame her.I don't think my father noticed this but I did. This is

VALERIA’S POVAlpha Dimitri was being cautious—too cautious. Every word he spoke, every piece of information he gave me, was measured and calculated. It was clear he wasn’t giving me the full picture, only enough to keep me engaged and answer my immediate questions without revealing too much. The papers and photographs he had handed me earlier were spread across the desk in front of me. Some of them were ancient-looking, with faded text and illustrations, while others were modern notes and diagrams. It was a lot to process, and it took me hours to sift through them. By the time I was halfway through, my head was spinning, and I realized I had barely scratched the surface. Most of what I read was about Moonbound wolves—their history, their supposed powers, and the myths surrounding them. But that was the problem—it was all myths. So much of it was inaccurate, exaggerated, or downright wrong. How they came into being, what their purpose was, even their so-called weaknesses—it didn’t mat

Peace. But all I felt was…Empty.A murderer.I had taken a life.Yes, it was justified. Yes, it was necessary. Yes, he deserved it.But that didn’t make it any easier. My gaze flickered toward Magnar. His lips were pressed together in a firm line, his golden eyes locked onto Dimitri’s body. VALERIA’S POVThe battlefield was silent. Not because the war was over—But because they were waiting.Waiting for me to finish what Dimitri started.I stared down at him, breathing heavily, my heart hammering in my chest.Riven’s voice sliced through the silence, low and certain.“Don’t show any mercy this time, Valeria. Your friends are safe—he has nothing against you now.”And just like that—My hesitation disappeared. The weight I had been carrying, the fear, the second-guessing—it all vanished.I turned my head slightly, catching sight of Magnar. He stood there, his arms tense at his sides, his jaw locked. His expression was unreadable, but his eyes…They were conflicted. He may have accepted this fate, may have severed the final tie with the man who raised him, but I knew—watching this wouldn’t be easy for him.I exhaled slowly and met his gaze.“You should look away,” I told him. “This is going to be painful for you to watch.”But he didn’t move.Didn’t blink.Didn’t turn away.

VALERIA’S POVI had never seen a vampire in my life. Not in person. Not until now.And suddenly, we were surrounded by them.Their presence was undeniable—an eerie, otherworldly force that sent shivers down my spine. Their sharp features, their glowing red eyes, the way they moved so effortlessly, like shadows given form.Riven is associated with vampires?Wow.I had heard whispers about her, of course. Rumors that she had ties beyond the werewolf realm. That she had even visited the fae kingdom.I never believed it.But now?Nothing seemed impossible when it came to Riven. And honestly… good for her.If anyone could command respect across different species, it was the woman standing before us with that annoyingly confident smirk.Dimitri, however, didn’t share my thoughts. His face twisted in pure rage, his lips pulling back over his teeth as he snarled at the newcomers.“Vampires are abominations! They are not allowed on my land! This is exactly why you should never have been queen,

I knew what was coming—poison.A gas so lethal it would seep into the lungs of everyone around us, burning them from the inside, turning them into lifeless corpses before they could even scream. The end.I squeezed my eyes shut, waiting for the sting, the suffocating burn, the chaos—But…Nothing happened.I snapped my eyes open, my breath catching in confusion. The arena was still there. The ground hadn’t turned into a graveyard. The warriors, the royals, everyone was still standing. For a moment, even Dimitri looked stunned. His hand trembled over the button, his eyes darting wildly across the battlefield as if expecting bodies to drop at any second.Nothing.No poison. No death. No victory for him.

  • THE LUNA'S ECLIPSE   Chapter 146 DIMITRI'S FALL

VALERIA’S POVThe battlefield still burned with chaos, but in this moment, my world narrowed down to only three people—Dimitri, Riven, and myself.Dimitri stood a few feet away, blood dripping from his nose, his fury barely contained. He was no longer the composed, manipulative mastermind. No. I had managed to push him into desperation. And Riven? She was watching me intently, her violet eyes sharp as she slowly began to understand what I was about to do.I turned my gaze back to Dimitri and smirked.“You know, Dimitri,” I called out to him, my voice clear over the noise of the battle, “you missed one crucial detail about Moonbound wolves.”Dimitri clenched his jaw. He wasn’t in the mood for games. But Riven, oh, she was.“I would love to know what it is,” she drawled, amusement flickering across her face.“I don’t care,” Dimitri snapped at the same time.I chuckled darkly. “Oh, but you should, Dimitri. You see, you’ve spent so much time obsessing over your revenge, your plans, and co

He crashed hard onto the stone floor below, a thunderous impact shaking the entire arena.Gasps echoed around me.A thick cloud of dust and debris rose from where Dimitri had landed, swirling in the air like a storm brewing around us. The weight of my attack had thrown him back with such force that the ceremonial platform itself trembled from the impact. For a heartbeat, all I could hear was the ringing in my ears and the shallow gasps of those who had witnessed what I had just done. Then, movement.I wasn’t give

Then, without missing a beat, she turned her attention back to the gathered audience. She took a single step forward, commanding absolute silence.“As the reigning Queen, I declare the trials complete,” her voice rang out, powerful and unshaken. “Magnar has proven himself worthy through strength, strategy, and wisdom. He has shown that he is capable of leading not only his pack but making the hard choices necessary for the greater good.”The crowd erupted in cheers.Pride swelled in my chest, but a weight still pressed against me. Something wasn’t right. I could still feel Valeria’s gaze, though I couldn’t find her in the sea of people.Queen Riven turned to face me once more.“I ho
