Vanya's POV:
"Oh my goodness doctor! Will she be okay?! I don't want anything to happen to my best friend! You have to make sure that she'll be fine! Do you hear me?!"
I woke to the sound of an angry voice and machines beeping. The smell of disinfectant in the air let me know that I was in a hospital. For a moment I was lost, then I started to recall all that had happened.
Cian rejected me.
The pain started to register, along with the sound of my wolf mewling in pain. My hand went to my stomach, and I sighed. The tears started to gather again, stinging my eyes.
"Best friend!" I heard the voice cry out.
Josephine.
I turned my head to her, mustering the darkest glare I could. She grabbed my hand, tears in her eyes. Tears that I was sure were fake.
"I'm so happy you're okay now!"
I pulled my hand away from her and turned to doctor John. "Where is my husband?" I asked.
"He..." Doctor John started to say and sighed. "I'm sorry, my Luna, he didn't come."
"Oh she's not Luna anymore." Josephine said, turning to the doctor. "Don't call her that. You're going to make her sad and she'll start crying all over again. I hate to see my best friend in such pain."
Doctor John looked confused, his eyes moving between I and Josephine. "Um...okay?"
I glared at Josephine. "Thank you for your help. You may leave now."
"Aww, come on," Josephine whined. "We have a lot to talk about and you're just going to..."
"Get out!" I screamed at her. "I don't want to ever see you again!"
She pulled back, sucking her teeth. "Fine." She huffed and got to her feet. "I'll be back when you're finally ready to talk in a calm manner."
"Don't let her back here." I said to doctor John.
He nodded, his brows furrowed in confusion.
"Bye Best friend," Josephine said and blew me a kiss. "I'll see you later." She turned and left.
Cian didn't even bother to check up on me? And I was going to tell him about the baby. What was the point? If I even got him to take me back for the sake of the baby what would happen when I had the child? He would take it from me and he and Josephine would raise it together.
I shivered, hugging myself tightly.
"Luna?" Doctor John said, placing a warm hand on my shoulder.
"Did you tell Cian that I'm pregnant?"
"No, I had hoped you would tell him yourself."
"Don't ever tell him." I said, glancing up at him. I rose to my feet.
"You need to rest for a bit. Your body underwent a huge amount of stress, it's not good for you and the baby."
I laughed softly. Stress was a severe understatement. My mate and husband just rejected me.
"Will my baby be okay?" I asked, tears misting in my eyes. "Will the.... will the rejection hurt them?"
"It could," doctor John said. "It hasn't been recorded, but with your standing as an omega..."
I raised my hand and he fell quiet. Enough of the omega talk. I know it. And I don't need anyone rubbing it in. "I'll be fine." I announced in a firm voice. Yes. I'll be fine. "I accept his rejection."
"Luna..."
The last part of the bond dissolved into nothing. Tears rolled down my eyes. I hugged myself, pulling my knees to my chest.
"It hurts..." I cried. "It hurts so bad..."
Doctor John patted my back. He didn't say anything.

Josephine dropped my suitcase off for me in the hospital. Words couldn't describe how insulted I felt.
"My lady please," Emily grabbed my hand, pulling me back. "Please let me come with you!"
"You can't " I replied with a smile. "I'm not Luna anymore. You're not under any obligation to serve me."
"I want to!" She cried. "Please! Don't cast me out! You're all I have!"
"I wish I could, but my decision has already been made." I replied.
She bit her lip hard, and I could see the tears in her eyes. "I..."
I pulled her into a hug. I'll miss her, a whole lot. But this is something I must do for myself and my child. I can't have any ties left to the werewolf world. Not even Emily my loyal bodyguard.
"Goodbye Now, Emily."
"My lady," She sobbed into my shoulder.
I felt a few tears leave my eyes too. Behind her I could see the car waiting for me. I was surprised it had taken them so little time to respond to my distress call. The driver took off his sunglasses, piercing gray eyes meeting mine. He leaned on the car, watching me with an unreadable expression.
"I have to go now," I said, pulling away from Emily. "Take care of yourself, okay?"
She nodded. "And you too, my lady."
I walked past her to the car. He held the door open, a smile on his face. "Took you long enough, daughter." He said.
"Thank you, father." I replied, getting into the car.
Marco Leon. An old friend of my father. According to my father before he died, Marco was the one who had suggested my name, which came about the fond nickname I used for him.
Father.
I found a letter after my parent’s death with his contact information should anything ever happen to them.
"Where are we going?" I asked, turning to glance at him.
"Your new home." He replied. "Emilia will be so excited to see you again."
I touched my stomach, a smile on my face. "I'll be happy to see her too."
Marco glanced at me but said nothing. I hadn't said anything to him yet and I guess he was just dying to know.
I'm going to raise this child by myself. And I'm going to make sure I'm never seen as a lowly omega again.
Watch it!!!!Vanya's pov:"You're supposed to use clarified butter for that recipe." I said, wiping the broth off my finger. "It gives it a more dignified taste.""Yes ma'am. I'll get to it right away!" The kitchen was a flurry of activities. With a huge event coming up in a matter of days, all my chefs had hands on deck to ensure that everything went smoother than oil.The aromas of food wafted in the air. I could feel the heat, and it was making me a bit sweaty. But work had to be done, and it was something I would endure. "Miss Jacob!" I heard a loud voice call my name. I turned to see a junior chef. "I made this for you!" He announced, holding a plate of cake in his hands. He stretched out to me.I held back a smile. "Thank you, Mike." I said, taking it from him."You...you know my name?" "Yes. I know all my worker by their name." I took a bite of the cake. "It's moist, but it's lacking flavour. What was it supposed to be?""V-vanilla!""Well," I handed the plate back to him. "Perfect the r
Vanya's pov:I couldn't ever get used to seeing so many rich and influential people under one roof. The cool air smelled of money and expensive cologne. I myself looked like one of these rich people, dressed in an exquisite dark red gown studded with gems on the plunging neckline. I had my hair done in a princess braid, tendrils of it framing my face and eyes. I held a champagne flute in my hand, sipping it occasionally. It was the good kind, the expensive bubbles tickling my tongue. The dance floor was alive with couples in their attractive designer clothes dancing to fancy piano music. I stood on the balcony, drinking my champagne and watching the event. I had no obligation to be here, but I couldn't say no to the client's invitation. How many of these events have I attended in just three months? A lot of them. And with each one, JAY’S CUISINE was there to attend to all the catering and interior decorating needs. I think this one was a fundraiser for women cancer, I wasn't exactly
Vanya's POV:"I'll be taking my leave now," Roman announced, leaving with a bow. I couldn't say anything to him, my eyes focused solely on Josephine."It's been only four years?" I scoffed, my eyes wide with surprise. "Is that supposed to make me feel better or what?"Josephine giggled, turning to glance at Cian for a brief moment. "What's the matter babe? Did I say something out of line?" She asked, batting long lashes at me. I rolled my eyes.I resisted the urge to smash my champagne flute into Josephine's eye. Four years, I'm very sure to her it must have been just four years. but to me those four years were full of so much pain and agony that I can't even bear to look at the two of them right now without feeling like I want to smash my glass with my bare hands or scream out in frustration.I controlled my emotions, taking in deep gulps of air to calm myself down. There's no point in over reacting right now, I'm only going to give them the satisfaction that they're looking for. No
Vanya'sPOVI stared at Josephine for a good ten seconds as if she had magically spawned an extra head."You know, I have really high hopes for whoever it is," She said, her smile widening. "You were a former luna, so I wouldn't expect you to be fucking anyone leas than an alpha, right? I mean, it would just be so crazy and low value behavior.""What?" I gasped, my eyes wide. I can't believe the words spewing out of her lips right now. Does she really think this is what is happening? "Oh don't look so surprised." She laughed, waving me off dismissively. "That gown you have on, it's designer. Unless of course it's fake, I don't mind that too."She's talking nonsense. And I don't have the energy to listen to her rant right now. She's doing this to get on my nerves I know that. And it's working. It's fucking working right now."Have a wonderful evening." I snapped, turning on my heel."Leaving so soon?" Josephine called after me, her chilling laughter going down to my bones. "Don't tell
Vanya's POV:It's not like I didn't know Cian's heart wasn't with me. As he had said, I chose to live in my own fantasy bubble, believing whatever the hell I wanted to believe as long as I was happy. Believing that Cian loved me. Believing that the moon goddess finally answered my prayers and mated us together. Believing that we would be together till we died. It wasn't that hard to see if only I looked. How distant he looked sometimes, like something was on his mind. And later I would come to discover that something on his mind was actually on someone. And that someone was the woman I believed was my best friend of all time.I laughed softly. I was so stupid."Here," Tara said, handing a plate with a slice of cake over to me. We sat on the elevated platform right next to our catering van. About four of my staff were in the van, drinking some water and having light snacks. Tara poured some champagne for the both of us and we sat back to enjoy the small treat. I drank the champagne
Vanya's POV:"Come on Tara, I'm driving you home.""But why?" Tara drawled, her head bobbing on my shoulder. The stench of alcohol was heavy on her breath. She raised her head and looked up at me, cheeks flushed and lips bloody red. "How are you not drunk?" She asked, a hiccup leaving her lips."I have high alcohol tolerance." I said. I supported her, my arm over her shoulder as we stumbled to my car. "I'm sober enough to drive us home.""Okay," She mumbled. "I think I'm gonna be sick."Before I could stop her, she doubled over, throwing up the contents in her stomach on the ground. I patted her back, holding her hair back."Let it all out." I mumbled. She gagged and retched, mumbling half apologies about how she's such a mess. I heard approaching footsteps running toward us. I turned to see Mike holding a bottle of water."Is she okay?" He asked, worried eyes glancing at Tara."She's fine." I said, taking the bottle from his hand. I opened it and brought it up to Tara's lips. She dr
Vanya's POVThe next morning, I woke up late.I laid in bed for a few seconds, trying to remember what had happened that left me feeling so tired. Memories of the previous night rushed into my head, making me groan out loud and bury my pillow into my face.It all came rushing back. Cian. Josephine. Tara's breakdown in my car. Tara!I sat up in a start, looking around the room. I heaved a sigh of relief seeing the body lying beside me, warm brown hair sprayed all over the pink silk pillows. I leaned over checking to see if she was still breathing. Thankfully she was.I got out of bed, stretching my shoulders. I still wore my gown from the party, I must have crashed into the bed the moment I came home. So was Tara, she was still dressed for the party.I went about my morning routine, taking a shower and changing into my day clothes. By the time I was done, Tara was still asleep. The clock hanging on my wall read ten thirty in the morning."Marco will kill me." I muttered under my breat
Vanya's POVI watched Tara devour the plate of soup placed in front of her. She looked terrible, dark circles under her eyes. Her skin was pale too, lacking it's rosy hue. She had taken off her clothes from the party and ran a cold shower, now dressed in an oversized t shirt of mine. Now her hair hung in damp rattails down her back and shoulders. "You're such a wonderful chef, Mr Leon," she said, swallowing a mouthful of the chicken soup. "Just call me Marco," He said, passing her a glass of water. "And slow down, you wouldn't want to choke now."She nodded. "Thank you. Now I can see where Miss Jacob got her awesome cooking skills from.""Oh please." I scoffed in an attempt to lighten the mood. "I taught him everything he knows."Marco smiled, shaking his head. "Don't argue with her now." He said. "Just eat your food.""I'm never going to drink so much again." Tara groaned. "My head hurts like someone is playing soccer with a metal ball.""You'll be fine." I said, offering her a sma
Vanya's POV "You look even better." "Don't think of blasphemy Tristan. The goddess is the best of all bests. Another headline just popped up. It says... " I paused. "A new world order, a new religion, the Blackwoods." "Indeed. A new religion. " He chuckled before he paused. "I'll get the kids from school today. You'll just have to get off from work and go home." "The last time you got the children back from school Tristan, all of you wrecked the house!" "And we apologized and promised we'd never do it again." "Whatever. Thank you for getting them in... Advance " I said to him. "At your service my queen." I smiled, grinning from ear to ear. "I love you." I said to him. "I love you more." He replied. "We'll talk later, gotta go." He mused, before blowing a kiss into the phone's speaker and then hanging up. I sat down on my seat, thinking back in all that had happened in my life. All that had happened to bring me to this day. To this moment of true happiness. I had never kn
FOUR YEARS LATER. Vanya's POV "Is this what you really want to do? Still be a chef?" My love asked. "CEO of a good company honey. And yes. That's what I want to do. What I still want to do. " I opened the door to leave, turned, and pulled him towards me with his tie, kissing him full on the lips. He edged forward, closing the door and winding the glass up. His hand trailed to my waist, pulling me closer to him, before they made to unbutton my blouse. "What are you doing?" I giggled, throwing my head back. "I told you " He grumbled. "That the next time you do this on a work day, we might end up having sex in the car. " "And I said?" "Mm... You said nothing." I opened the car door. "And silence in court means...." But I had jumped out of the car, blowing him a kiss as I shut the door. He looked like a pouting child that would soon begin to bawl. "Just go." I mouthed, shooting him away with a wave of my hand. "You're in for tonight." He mouthed back before blowing me a kiss
Vanya's POV "Wait..." Tristan paused them. "You knew he came after Vanya." He questioned his father. Which he nodded to. "Does that mean you've been in London all this while?" He nodded again. Tristan stared at him in disbelief while I listened to their story. Waiting earnestly for them to finish so I could throw everything I wanted at them. "When we heard he came after you..." My father had become serious. "I told Marco and Vladimir that it was finally time for me to come out of hiding." They both nodded. "And worst of all, when Marco told me about your outburst." They nodded again. But he continued. "They weren't really buying the idea, and Vladimir promised to take care of you and Marco but I had been hiding long enough." "So we finally decided to come out of hiding," Vladimir said. "And deal with Magnus." Marco added. The sitting room now went quiet as I weighed everything they had said. I had missed my father since I was thirteen, thinking he was dead, but he had been aliv
Vanya's POV "Is this some kind of joke to appease me?" I turned to Marco. "Joke? No. No it's... Not." "I'm not buying this shit. None of it." "And where did you learn how do speak like that little crow?" "Don't you dare call me that!" I spat at the man. "And where did you even hear that from?" "I didn't hear it from anywhere. We made it up, together. At the spring fall close to your school when you wouldn't stop crying about how boring school was and how you wanted to be a doctor but not go to school for it..." I bit my lower lip. This couldn't be happening. I was dreaming. It's all a dream. "And what did I say?" I asked him for confirmation. "If I can make it as a doctor without books, I want the world in return..." "No..." I exhaled, forcing myself to stay calm and tearless. "And I said to you..." I remembered clearly what he said to me that day. Even if you want heaven... "Even if you want heaven..." Daddy wouldn't hesitate a second... "Daddy wouldn't hesitate a
Vanya's POV I walked out of Tristan's office, and when I was out of earshot, I ran to our room, shutting the door behind me as I wailed my eyes out. I shook as the sobs took over me, fully in control. How could he? How could Marco? He was my father's best friend. He was supposed to stand by my father, was supposed to protect him. Was supposed to be a true friend. I hate him! I hate him!! I sniffled, still sitting down on the floor. How long I sat there, I couldn't recall but I knew it was well past afternoon. Tristan had come to knock on the door during lunch, asking me to eat. I had told him I wanted to be alone and wasn't in the mood to eat. "In case you change your mind." He said as I heard a rattle of plates in front of the door. "I'll leave your lunch here." Then he had left. After some time, he had come to the door again, knocking to check up on me. "I'm fine," I replied. "Vanya..." He started. "I know it's tough. I wish I could help... Or... Or do something." He sig
Tristan's POV I was in my study with Vanya that morning when Adam and some of my men brought Magnus into my office. Hands bound as he knelt him down before us. I was sitting on the arm of the seat while Vanya sat on it. From where he knelt, Magnus glared at us. His face filled with venom. Like the fuck I cared. He had gone after Vanya for whatever crooked reason it was. Had killed her father, my father's very good friend. He had ruined her chance of having a father and a mother too, potentially making her an orphan. The reason my Luna had no parents as shoulders to lean on, was because of this man. And heaven knew, I wanted to rip out his throat. There was a tremble on his venomous face even though he tried to hide it. He only glared as a defense mechanism. "Such a flimsy defense you have there Magnus." No need putting the Alpha's honorific anyway. He didn't deserve that respect. He blinked that I called him by his name but covered the shock on his face by glaring harder. "Oh!"
Tristan's POV "I'm fine talking while standing." Her voice came out wobbling. And she folded her arms, warily watching us. I nodded, going straight to the point. "What did you say to Vanya that made her stomp off?" Her eyes softened. "She didn't tell you. So why should I?" Angel snorted behind me. I rubbed my temples, realizing I too was standing. "So much drama in a day." She whispered behind me. The woman shot her a glare which Angel returned with a bare of her wolf canines. "You claim to be her mother..." "I am her mother." She cut me off, her voice almost a screech. Two of my men moved to get a hold of her as she strolled towards me, but I motioned them to remain put. "I carried her for nine months and almost died giving birth to her." "So why disappear all these years and appear now to try and talk to her?" She squinted angrily at me. "Yeah." I continued before she could speak. "Vanya has never mentioned you to me before. Never." "Who knows, that may be because you are
Tristan's POV "You should have found out!" I yelled a her. "What?! You expected me to eavesdrop on their conversation?!" Before I could reply, she added. "What is wrong with you?! You've barely been married a month and you're already acting like a big bad dog!" I took some steps towards her. "You don't get to speak to me like that! And after all that happened, she shouldn't be out there alone!" "When has she never been able to handle herself?" She threw at me, contempt in her voice. "When you weren't officially mated, it was eight bodyguards, now the whole world knows, you might actually keep tabs on her every movement. In case you don't know brother, it's spying and a sign that your suffocating, over protective nature that cost our mother her life, is resurfacing again! " The room stilled, I stilled and so did she when she realized what she has just said. I took steps backwards, watching her as I shook my head in utter disbelief. "Wow Angel. Just wow!" "Tristan I'm sorry." "N
Tristan's POV I killed the ignition of my car, sitting there and thinking about nothing in particular but everything at once. Vanya had only met Selena once and they had not gotten along. Not as if any one could ever get along with Selena. But why would Magnus go after Vanya? What did he want from her? ***Flashback*** Vanya was speaking to the strange woman who claimed to be her mother, so I decided to go back to my house which was now Angel's house to wait for Adam after I had sent him to figure out who the rogues were and why they wanted Vanya when Angel came to me. "There was one thing I noticed about the rogues. I didn't want to let you know about it because Vanya was there." I sat back down, placing my coat on the seat I had been seating on. "What was it?" "All the men had a wolf tattoo on their right shoulders." "Werewolves have tattoos all the time Angel." "I know." She countered. "But it was split in half." She looked at me, going still for a moment before that still
