Vanya's POV

My head thudded like a bass drum, the pounding, relentless and unforgiving. As I slowly regained consciousness, the world around me swam into focus, harsh white lights above my head distorted my visuals and the antiseptic scent of a hospital assaulted my senses. For a moment, everything was blur, the edges of fraying as I tried to anchor myself to the present. My body felt heavy, my mind clouded, as if I had been underwater for too long and had finally surfaced, gasping for air

“Vanya, thank God you're awake!” Marco's voice broke through the haze I was in, his tone tinged with a mix of relief and anxiety

I turned my head slowly as if to avoid it falling off, my eyes locking onto Marco's worried face. He was seated next to my bed, his expression a cocktail of concern and exhaustion.

“What… what happened?” My voice was raspy, barely more than a whisper.

“You passed out” Marco explained, leaning forward in his chair, his hands gripping the edge of the bed. “You've been under

Vanya's POV Dr Ryker shook his head. “It's not that simple. Your condition is more serious than just needing a few days off. Your wolf is weak, Miss Jacobs. You haven't shifted in a long time and it's affecting your health. If you don't start reconnecting with that part of yourself, you're going to get worse” My stomach twisted at the mention of my wolf. The memories of my time as Luna of the Dragon Claw pack came rushing back—memories I had tried so hard to bury. “I don't want to shift” I said firmly “I've lived fine without it.” The doctor's expression turned grave. “You can't continue like this. You're not human, Miss Jacobs and you can't live like one. Ignoring your wolf is only going to make things worse. If you keep this up, it could eventually kill you” The words hit me like a physical blow, but I refused to show weakness. “I'll be fine” I repeated, more for my own benefit than his. Dr. Ryker sighed, clearly sensing that he wasn't getting through to me. “I'm going to r

Vanya's POV My head throbbed, a dull ache that pounded against my temples as the door to the hospital room creaked open a little then closed again. The scent that still wafted in was unmistakable—Cian. My pulse quickened as he turned back again to face me, but I remained outwardly calm, narrowing my eyes back to the man who had now refused to leave my room. Cian stood here, tall and imposing. He now wore an expression of barely contained anger, the kind I knew all too well. “It seems you're still less than pleased to see me” he remarked, his voice cold, yet with an underlying tension that made my fists clenched under the sheets. “That's an understatement” I snapped, barely able to restrain myself from launching into a full-blown tirade. I didn't have the energy to pretend around him anymore. “What the hell do you want again Cian?” “There's something I think you should know and this is just so you know I'm not joking” he said with a mischievous smile, my insides twisting at

Vanya's POV“No” I replied, my grip tightening on the scalpel. “You don't get to control me anymore Cian. Not now, not ever”“Damn it, Vanya” Cian growled, his temper finally breaking through. He reached out to grab my wrist but I was quicker, slashing the scalpel across his forearm. Blood welled up from the cut and Cian hissed in pain, but his grip on my wrist only tightened. Before I could react, the door burst open and several nurses and doctors rushed in. They pulled my struggling form away from Cian, restraining me as I fought against them.“Let me go!” I screamed, thrashing against their hold. But they were too strong and within seconds, a needle was pressed into my arm, the tranquilizer spreading through my veins like a virus. The last thing I saw before darkness overtook me was Cian, his golden eyes burning with a mix of anger and something else I couldn't quite place.***When I woke again, the room was dark and I was alone. Cian's POV I paced the length of my office, my mind consumed by Vanya's recent actions. The image of her, wild-eyed and brandishing a scalpel, haunted me. I couldn't fathom how the gentle, submissive woman I had once known could transform into someone so defiant, so violent. It was as if she had become a different person entirely, and it infuriated me. I had tried everything to get through to her, to bring her back under my control. The flowers I sent to her hospital room were supposed to be a gesture of goodwill, a reminder of the affection I once showed her. But every bouquet was returned, rejected without a word of thanks. The more she pushed me away, the more determined I became to have her back.I had always prided myself on my ability to control every aspect of my life, including the people in it. Vanya was no exception. She had been mine, once, and I would make sure she was mine again. I visited the hospital regularly, ignoring the fact that she never wanted to see me. Her

Cian's POV"Get out" I said coldly, my voice devoid of any emotion. Josephine looked up at me, confusion and pain written across her face."Cian, I...”"Get. Out." I repeated, my tone leaving no room for argument. I didn't want to see her, neither did I want to be reminded of my failure.Josephine scrambled to her feet, clutching the remnants of her torn clothes around her. She cast one last, desperate look at me before fleeing the room, her sobs echoing down the hallway.I collapsed back onto the couch, running a hand through my hair. My mind was a mess of conflicting emotions-- rage, frustration, and something darker, something I didn't want to acknowledge. I had hurt Josephine, yes, but the person I truly wanted to hurt was Vanya. I wanted her to feel the pain, to understand that she couldn't just walk away from me.But she was gone, out of my reach for now. The thought gnawed at him, leaving a bitter taste in my mouth. I closed my eyes, trying to banish the image of Josephine's t

Vanya's POV:I stepped through the front door of the house, exhaustion weight heavily on my shoulders. The familiar scent of the place—lavender and freshly baked bread—welcomed me, but it did little to soothe the turmoil churning inside me. I barely had time to drop my bag before Marco and Emilia appeared in the hallway, their expressions a mix of concern and frustration.“Vanya” Marco started, his voice stern but tinged with worry. “What were you thinking? Leaving the hospital like that?”Emilia folded her arms, her gaze sharp. “You should be resting, not running around like everything's fine. The doctor was very clear about what you needed”I sighed, leaning against the wall. “I couldn't stay there, Marco. Not with everything that was happening. I needed to be home, with you both and with the kids”“You needed care” Emilia cut in, her time brokering no argument “you collapsed, Vanya. This isn't something you can just brush off”“I'm fine now” I insisted, though I knew it wasn't enti

Vanya's POVWhen I arrived at the office, I was surprised to see David waiting outside. He leaned against the wall, his gaze sharp as he watched me approach."David" I greeted him with a nod, trying to mask my irritation. "What are you doing here?"He straightened up, giving me a curt smile. "Just checking in on you, Vanya."My eyes narrowed. I knew better than to believe that. David was Cian's right-hand man, his loyal enforcer. If he was here, it was because Cian had sent him."I don't need checking in on,” I replied coldly. "'m fine.”David's smile didn't waver. "Of course. Just doing my job." I resisted the urge to snap at him, instead pushing past him and into the building.Tara and the rest of my staff greeted me with warm smiles, and for a brief moment, I allowed myself to relax. But the feeling was fleeting. Every time I turned around, I felt David's eyes on me, watching my every move.By the time evening came, I was exhausted. Tara suggested a team dinner to lift everyone's

Vanya's POV:I had tried, I really tried, to stick to the two-week break Marco and Emilia had practically forced on me.For the first few days, I indulged in the luxury of not having to rush anywhere. I spent time with my children, making them breakfast and driving them to school. I even allowed myself the guilty pleasure of spending a quiet afternoon reading a book, something I hadn't done in ages. You might say I was living my best life. But the itch to return to work, to the life I had built so meticulously, became impossible to ignore. By the end of the first week, I found myself pacing the house, feeling restless and uneasy. Every time my phone buzzed, my heart would skip a beat, half-hoping it was a work-related emergency that would justify my return to the office. But it never was. Instead, my phone seemed to be a direct line to Cian's persistence.Every morning, noon, and night, without fail, he would text me. At first, I blocked his number. Then he started sending emails. I

"The last time you got the children back from school Tristan, all of you wrecked the house!" "And we apologized and promised we'd never do it again." "Whatever. Thank you for getting them in... " I opened the door to leave, turned, and pulled him towards me with his tie, kissing him full on the lips. He edged forward, closing the door and winding the glass up. His hand trailed to my waist, pulling me closer to him, before they made to unbutton my blouse. "What are you doing?" I giggled, throwing my head back. "I told you " He grumbled. "That the next time you do this on a work day, we might end up having sex in the car. " "And I said?" "Mm... You said nothing." I opened the car door. "And silence in court means...." But I had jumped out of the car, blowing him a kiss as I shut the door. He looked like a pouting child that would soon begin to bawl. "Just go." I mouthed, shooting him away with a wave of my hand. Vanya's POV "Wait..." Tristan paused them. "You knew he came after Vanya." He questioned his father. Which he nodded to. "Does that mean you've been in London all this while?" He nodded again. Tristan stared at him in disbelief while I listened to their story. Waiting earnestly for them to finish so I could throw everything I wanted at them. "When we heard he came after you..." My father had become serious. "I told Marco and Vladimir that it was finally time for me to come out of hiding." They both nodded. "And worst of all, when Marco told me about your outburst." They nodded again. But he continued. "They weren't really buying the idea, and Vladimir promised to take care of you and Marco but I had been hiding long enough." "So we finally decided to come out of hiding," Vladimir said. "And deal with Magnus." Marco added. The sitting room now went quiet as I weighed everything they had said. I had missed my father since I was thirteen, thinking he was dead, but he had been aliv

"And where did you learn how do speak like that little crow?" "Don't you dare call me that!" I spat at the man. "And where did you even hear that from?" "I didn't hear it from anywhere. We made it up, together. At the spring fall close to your school when you wouldn't stop crying about how boring school was and how you wanted to be a doctor but not go to school for it..." I bit my lower lip. This couldn't be happening. I was dreaming. It's all a dream. "And what did I say?" I asked him for confirmation. "If I can make it as a doctor without books, I want the world in return..." "No..." I exhaled, forcing myself to stay calm and tearless. "And I said to you..." I remembered clearly what he said to me that day. Even if you want heaven... "Even if you want heaven..." Daddy wouldn't hesitate a second... "Daddy wouldn't hesitate a

Vanya's POV I walked out of Tristan's office, and when I was out of earshot, I ran to our room, shutting the door behind me as I wailed my eyes out. I shook as the sobs took over me, fully in control. How could he? How could Marco? He was my father's best friend. He was supposed to stand by my father, was supposed to protect him. Was supposed to be a true friend. I hate him! I hate him!! I sniffled, still sitting down on the floor. How long I sat there, I couldn't recall but I knew it was well past afternoon. Tristan had come to knock on the door during lunch, asking me to eat. I had told him I wanted to be alone and wasn't in the mood to eat. "In case you change your mind." He said as I heard a rattle of plates in front of the door. "I'll leave your lunch here." Then he had left. After some time, he had come to the door again, knocking to check up on me. "I'm fine," I replied. "Vanya..." He started. "I know it's tough. I wish I could help... Or... Or do something." He sig

  • THE LUNA I NOW CRAVE   CHAPTER 192

Tristan's POV I was in my study with Vanya that morning when Adam and some of my men brought Magnus into my office. Hands bound as he knelt him down before us. I was sitting on the arm of the seat while Vanya sat on it. From where he knelt, Magnus glared at us. His face filled with venom. Like the fuck I cared. He had gone after Vanya for whatever crooked reason it was. Had killed her father, my father's very good friend. He had ruined her chance of having a father and a mother too, potentially making her an orphan. The reason my Luna had no parents as shoulders to lean on, was because of this man. And heaven knew, I wanted to rip out his throat. There was a tremble on his venomous face even though he tried to hide it. He only glared as a defense mechanism. "Such a flimsy defense you have there Magnus." No need putting the Alpha's honorific anyway. He didn't deserve that respect. He blinked that I called him by his name but covered the shock on his face by glaring harder. "Oh!"

Tristan's POV "I'm fine talking while standing." Her voice came out wobbling. And she folded her arms, warily watching us. I nodded, going straight to the point. "What did you say to Vanya that made her stomp off?" Her eyes softened. "She didn't tell you. So why should I?" Angel snorted behind me. I rubbed my temples, realizing I too was standing. "So much drama in a day." She whispered behind me. The woman shot her a glare which Angel returned with a bare of her wolf canines. "You claim to be her mother..." "I am her mother." She cut me off, her voice almost a screech. Two of my men moved to get a hold of her as she strolled towards me, but I motioned them to remain put. "I carried her for nine months and almost died giving birth to her." "So why disappear all these years and appear now to try and talk to her?" She squinted angrily at me. "Yeah." I continued before she could speak. "Vanya has never mentioned you to me before. Never." "Who knows, that may be because you are

You've barely been married a month and you're already acting like a big bad dog!" I took some steps towards her. "You don't get to speak to me like that! And after all that happened, she shouldn't be out there alone!" "When has she never been able to handle herself?" She threw at me, contempt in her voice. "When you weren't officially mated, it was eight bodyguards, now the whole world knows, you might actually keep tabs on her every movement. In case you don't know brother, it's spying and a sign that your suffocating, over protective nature that cost our mother her life, is resurfacing again! " The room stilled, I stilled and so did she when she realized what she has just said. I took steps backwards, watching her as I shook my head in utter disbelief. "Wow Angel. Just wow!" Not as if any one could ever get along with Selena. But why would Magnus go after Vanya? What did he want from her? ***Flashback*** Vanya was speaking to the strange woman who claimed to be her mother, so I decided to go back to my house which was now Angel's house to wait for Adam after I had sent him to figure out who the rogues were and why they wanted Vanya when Angel came to me. "There was one thing I noticed about the rogues. I didn't want to let you know about it because Vanya was there." I sat back down, placing my coat on the seat I had been seating on. "What was it?" "All the men had a wolf tattoo on their right shoulders." "Werewolves have tattoos all the time Angel." "I know." She countered. "But it was split in half." She looked at me, going still for a moment before that still
