Cian's POV

From the crown of my head to the sole of my feet was a horror. Covered in bruises and dressed in my clothes that had now become rags, torn at the hem and other unimaginable places, so bad that even a mad man would think twice before putting them on, I limped towards my pack, barefooted, hungry, tired and poisoned. The bastard had release me and dropped me close to my pack, but leaving an ample distance for me to walk, knowing how weak he had made me.

I sat beside him in the car, his unruly beta driving. I watched him through cloudy eyes that I couldn't even open clearly, seeing the man I had always wanted to murder right in front of me without being able to do anything. I tried to move my hands, aiming for his eyes, but was betrayed by the way my body felt. He had smiled. That wretched smile, annoying me to the core, before flicking my limp hand away like it was some kind of toy a child flicked at.

I was close to my pack but not close enough to stop walking and call for Da

Cian's POVThe bright light was foreign to me, the sweet scent of rosemary also foreign. It seemed like I was in heaven, enjoying the pleasures of it all. The scent of good food, the enchanting scents of herbs and spices. The feeling of peace... And then just in the twinkle of an eye, I regained consciousness of where I was and how I had been treated. I shot up from the bed, my head hit with a splitting head ache."Alpha Cian." David came to my side, his face no longer the hardened one. "How do you feel?""How do I look?" I threw the question back at him, taking a look at my messed up self expecting to see how badly looking I was, but my eyes was instead met with a set of clean clothes. I smiled but my smile soon faded as soon as my eyes met with the mirror in front of me. The healer that had been tending to my injuries and bruises while I was asleep, chose that time to be the perfect time to apply ointment on one of my injuries. I yanked her up, throwing her at the mirror. David caug

Cian's POV"What did you just say?" I asked David getting up from my seat. I was in my office when David had returned a day later with all the information I needed on Tristan. And what he had said was nowhere what I had imagined. Not even the least bit close. "He's from America and is the most powerful Alpha in America." He repeated. "He's also the second largest in Europe." He added. I was beginning to think I was hearing something different when he added. "Not only is he the most powerful Alpha in America, he also has packs scattered all around the continents. He is the Alpha Blackwood..." I almost passed out when he added that piece of information. " But most people don't know that he's the one.""Wait..." I cut him off. "Did you just say he's the alpha Blackwood?""Yes my lord. He's alpha Tristan Blackwood of the Scarlett pack." "Fuck!" I began pacing around as I ran my hands through my hair. I had bragged to him that I was the most powerful Alpha in Europe without even knowing

VANYA'S POVA text from Josephine. I ignored it, not interested in whatever the fuck she had to say. I stayed close to Tristan, even as the sun went completely down and the veil of darkness took over. My phone vibrated with multiple texts.Oh so now she wants to talk huh? Ruining my life wasn't enough for her. Now she has a taste of her own medicine she doesn't like how it feels."I want to throw my phone off here." I said."Go ahead. I'll get a new one for you " Tristan replied. I laughed softly. Yeah that sounds like a good idea. The messages stopped pinging in, and she started calling. My frustration felt like it would skyrocket to the damned roof. I felt like truly doing it, disposing of my phone. However, instead of chucking my phone off the roof, I took it up."Excuse me, I'll be back. I have to take this call." I said to Tristan. He nodded in reply.I got to my feet and walked a distance away. I picked up the call and put the phone to my ear."Are you happy?!" Josephine wailed

VANYA'S POVTristan kissed me, in a way that made my head spin and stars explode at the back of my closed eyes like the skies above us. I pulled my hand back, wanting touching him or do something, but he didn't let me move. He held my hands above my head with one firm grasp, and even though he pinned me into the blanket, I could feel the untapped power twitching in his finger tips. He could crush my wrists if he wanted to. I just knew it. "Vanya," He groaned, his voice sending sparks straight to my lower belly. "Do you have any idea how fucking hard it is to resist you?""Who cares about resisting?" I said, my own words shocking me.What the fuck is wrong with me?!"I know what you're trying to do.""What am I trying to do?" I asked, but even then my eyes looked up at him seductively. I arched my back, trying to press my hips to his. But he wouldn't let me. His hold on my hip held me firmly in the ground, with no room for movement. He leaned down to my ear and kissed my ear shell. Vanya's POVSwerving around the roundabout that would lead to my home. Home sweet home. Checking the fuel level indicator, I had to stop at a filling station to get fuel for the car. Taking the pump from its usual position, I inserted the nuzzle into my tank."What lovely outfit." A woman said behind me making me turn slightly, and meeting her gaze. It was my "mum". At least, the woman who claimed to be my "mum". I rolled my eyes, not in the mood for anything fake or ridiculous. "You're ignoring me." She said walking toward the pump where I stood.I snubbed her, walking back to my car as I put back the nuzzle where it was supposed to be."Nothing to say to me?" I stopped turning to her."Oh.... nothing to say to you..." I repeated turning to her. "Are you following me?" I asked when I was facing her."I am your...""Mother." I said to her completing her sentence. "Like hell yeah in the world." I opened the car of my door, about to step in when she said"Why wouldn't you believe what

Vanya's POVSo far, so good...Sighing as I laid back on my seat a smile curling up at the corners of my lips as I looked at my screen, the articles being displayed, nothing but sheer majesty and joy. Tara cleared her throat, drawing my attention back to her as if to say "I'm still here." I sat back up, meeting her gaze still unable to wipe the mug off my face."What's today's schedule like?" I sked trying to sound serious and oblivious to what had been happening for days now. She raised a brow at me a grin on her face conveying her message properly. "Like hell you don't know." The facial expression spoke volumes. I smiled at her. "One more time..." I showed my full teeth at her throwing my eyes wide."At 11:00 a.m. you have a meeting with the Spanish investor, by 11:45 a.m. another meeting with..." And on and on she went talking about my schedule that had suddenly taken a new turn after the trial of Josephine's won up in my honest favour. Not only had my initial investors that had lef

Vanya's POVWith how busy the company had been for the past one week, time flew by without any of us realizing. By the time I looked at the clock, it was already 6:55 p.m. "Are you not going home?" Tara asked from where she stood at the door."You can go. I still have something to go over." She nodded, turned and left. Rubbing my temples, I finished what was left for today's work, took my coat and my bag and headed outside.Outside, someone was slightly kicking his foot against the floor as if he were kicking something. He seemed to be waiting for someone in the company. I stepped out walking towards my car, as I came closer, I recognized him. Shit!He turned to me, his golden eyes staring blankly at me. With the illumination of the lights around, I could see that there was no life residing in his eyes. It seemed to have been stripped of all it's colour. He looked like he had been through a lot as it showed all around him. His hair was intact, but not as intact as I knew it to be.

Vanya's POVThat was it! I had heard enough."Don't you dare call Tristan a bastard." I spat in annoyance. " He's a million times better that you. What did you just say..." I asked taking a step close to him. "That you can give me whatever he can a million times? Give me a break!!" I rolled my eyes throwing my hands in the air. Tristan wasn't an alpha, neither was he powerful like Cian, but like hell Cian could give me the love, the laughter, the feeling of being safe__ being with someone you know would never hurt you, would walk with you to hell if he can't pull you out of it, would treat you like the most important person on earth. A man that would respect you... Make you feel at home when you're with him, listen to how your day went... The ups and downs of your life and hug you, hold you in his arms and whisper words like no other in your ears. Someone to cry on his shoulder, someone that would sit with you in the storm, through thick and thin... Someone that just his name being me

VANYA'S POV"That's because all they know about is the initial gate and the border guards' buildings. You would have to go beyond those buildings to get to the main pack but most of them just stop at the entrance. So it's their fault for classifying me there. Not mine. " He shrugged as a gate opened on its own accord, letting us in. "It's works with DNA and personal info." He motioned to the gate. "If yours isn't stored, you can't get in.""Then how am I getting in right now?""Because... You're with me. Anyone with the alpha can get in. Stored or not stored." He killed the ignition as he drove into the garage that held more cars than I could count. I knew Tristan was rich and powerful and influential but not to this extent.I looked at him again, wondering how someone of such caliber could be so humble and down to earth and yet so powerful and dreaded, all at the same time. He got out of the car, coming to open the car door for me."Thank you," I whispered as I walked out, not tearin

Vanya's POV"My father died." I helped him complete the sentence. "Yeah. Marco isn't a friend type of person. It's good he found one." I smiled at both of them as Tristan and I continued walking further into the pack. Looking around one more, and taking in the buildings again, I asked. "But with these buildings, what more do you need?" "Actually..." He paused, his hands going to the back of his head like a child who was about to boast about something. "These are just the border guards' quarters." "What?" But my other words were cut off as we got to another gate I didn't know the pack had. A gate higher than the buildings we had just crossed. And when it was opened by the six guards that stood by it, two I remembered from my bodyguard encounter with Cian, everything round about me stilled. My eyes couldn't take in everything at once as it slowly moved from place to place, taking in the scenery. The laughter that sprang from children and women alike into the air. The smell of fresh

His pride and arrogance because it was only then that the mental breaking would be fun for her. "Angel..." I called out as soon as I picked up the call. "Vanya!!!" She screeched, clapping her hands on the other side of the call. "I've missed you." "We talked less than a week ago." I reminded her. "I know, just play along okay?" Play along for what? "How are you and Tristan?" Was her next question. "Me and Tristan? We're good." "That's it?" Her voice was one of shock and utter surprise. "You're good?!" "Were you expecting to hear something else? " "Yes and no." She sighed. "By it fine. How's the preparation for the merge going?" "Well, Maureen is on her tiptoes doing most of the planning with Emilia. I'm doing the best I can although Tristan says not to worry about it... And well... Your father and Marco are being b

Vanya's POV "Hello, Stranger."I raised my head from my laptop where I had been reading the news to who stood at the door. My eyes widened as I leaped up from the seat walking towards her as she walked toward us. We embraced each other in a bone-crushing hug as if we hadn't been in the same hospital and seen each other a couple of times before I was discharged. I pulled away from the hug to take a good look at her and couldn't stop smiling. "You look... Oh my God!" She burst into laughter, throwing her hair back."And I can see that you've already gone into business mode." "Pfft! Oh please..." I groaned as we pulled away from the hug. "I've always been in business mode even back at the hospital." A big fat lie."As if." She scoffed, letting a smile peer over her lips before her attention worked itself to my laptop. "You seemed happy while viewing that." She pointed to it. "Good news?" She raised a brow, showing me that she knew what I had been looking at. I called to my desk, "If

Vanya's POVThat night, Emilia could finally go home with Marco and the kids. Marco offered to drop Tristan's dad which surprisingly he agreed and then they left leaving Tristan and I together. We laid in bed together, enjoying each other's presence without having to speak a word. The last time we had spent in bed played on repeat in my head. And it wasn't long before our hands began to wander each other's bodies. That night, I slept like a baby. I think it was the news that Cian had been taken care of but not even a single nightmare plagued me.I woke up to the sound of twittering birds and bright sunlight streaming into the room. It took sometime for my eyes to adjust to the light as I stretched myself out. I turned to the sight only to be greeted with a kiss on the forehead."Good afternoon." He mused smiling. "Congratulations, you slept through the entire morning." I smiled at that, ruffling his hair. He ruffles mine back, covering my face with it. My stomach growled in hunger."

Vanya's POV"You seem to have forgotten me." I froze then turned sharply to Tristan. I had forgotten him. I was so engrossed in studying Marco and Emilia and his dad that I had forgotten he was there. "I take it..." "You take nothing. " I said in a hurry, before exhaling. "I'm sorry I forgot you were here." I apologized with a smile. He nodded. "Do you want to get away from here or sit with the oldies and talk about old people things?" "I've missed you." That was enough answered for him. "We'll catch you later." He said to the three of them who had begun to laugh and enjoy each other's company all so fast. We left them, heading to the rooftop again. We giggled as we took the elevator to the last floor of the hospital and walked the stairs up the roof. Thankfully, the afternoon sun wasn't harsh today, so we stood in it rather than go to the shade that was built on the roof. He brushed away strands from my hair before he covered his lips with mine. The kiss was one of longing f

Vanya's POVNo word, nothing. I shook my head. "What about you?" I questioned. "You said your friend and partner, were separated for more than ten years yet you're here." "Well... He's an alpha." He replied making Emilia choke on her water, her eyes wide as she stared at him. It wasn't a surprise in her face. It looked like shock, almost like... The fear disappeared when she noticed I was looking at her. "He had alpha duties, as Vanya would say, to attend to, so he had to leave.""Sad," Emilia replied pouting. Marco glared playfully at her, going for the second box of pizza we hadn't opened. We both hit his hand, shooting daggers in his direction. "That's mine." I scowled. "Keep off.""But I haven't eaten.""That's because we never knew you'd return so early," Emilia spoke handing him the last triangle of thrones we were eating."How's this going to be enough." He grumbled "You don't want it?" We both asked him, reaching to grab it.He sucked in his breath to make a point. "I never

VANYA'S POV:Three days, and no sign of Tristan. Not even a phone call. I eyed my phone as I had lunch with Emilia. Marco had left in the morning to attend to business of some sort. Said it was a long-time friend and partner of his that had just flown into the country after more than ten years of separation and had a business offer to propose. So Emilia permitted him to leave. She had decided to drop off Andrew and Ryan at school this morning saying she wanted to speak to their teacher while I had had breakfast with Tara.As we kept eating, my eyes drifted to the phone once again, eyeing it uncontrollably. He said he wouldn't be gone for a week, but it was already three days into the Week. "If you miss him, you could just call," Emilia said to me, her attention still on her food. She had been the one with me all through the nights Tristan wasn't around. She had slept with me in the hospital while Marco prepared the kids, took them to school, and got them back from school. These three

Tristan's POV"No healer comes to see him throughout today," I spoke to the guards. "He doesn't eat for the next two days. And after those two days, feed him once a day." "You sure are taking my business into your own hands," Angel commented. "This is just for the meantime. You have him to yourself for all eternity. Do as you please." She grinned in response. As I stepped forward, Angel, Niko, the driver, my father, and the guards parted for me to pass through. The guard's gaze shifted from me to my hands. That was when I remembered that I hadn't wiped it on my handkerchief. I reached for my pockets but it wasn't there.. I had left it in the cell. Just then, my father handed his to me. I extended my hands to take it, but he held firm onto it, studying my face as if taking in every muscle movement, facial expression, and n. We stood there, the handkerchief in both our hands for almost seven seconds before he finally let go of it. I wiped my hands clean, tossing the handkerchief int
