The cruel rejection

Olivia didn't see it as a big deal. Jeremy was a cold one and he was sure trying to get used to her. Her thoughts though.

"I'm Olivia," she replied, trying to hide her excitement.

Everyone was looking at them. They wanted to know the end result of it. Some were already speculating what was going to happen. Olivia was happy because she wouldn't need to marry that old disgusting man. Luck was just on her.

"You name in full," Jeremy said bluntly.

There was a look of disgust in his eyes. Although the female in front of him looks appealing, he still didn't want her. He wanted to end this mating bond of a thing. He was so angry for being paired with a weakling.

"Olivia Myles," she replied.

Olivia was scared and she didn't know what to think. Then her worst fear happened.

"I Jeremy Walker, reject you Olivia Myles as a fated mate" Jeremy said baldly without a single emotion in his eyes.

He turned back and walked away leaving Olivia to feel the pain. Olivia was taken aback at first. Not only Olivia was shocked. Everyone in the building was. The rejection was too cruel. He didn't even talk to her to get to know her. He just rejected her in front of the whole pack.

"Arghhhh!"

Pain struck Olivia's heart like a rock was thrown on it. She held her chest and screamed out loud. No one even moved close to her. They all watched as she fell to the ground, landing on the broken bottles she was trying to pick earlier. She cried out in pain rolling on the floor. The pain in her heart wasn't compared to the bottles piercing her skin.

Jeremy's father who was the Alpha of the pack was shocked from where he was that he couldn't even say anything.

"Olivia!" Ariana ran from where she was.

She too was shocked at the rejection. She didn't expect it at all. By the time she got to Olivia, she already passed out from the pain and blood was gushing out from her body.

Ariana was so angry and unhappy at what happened. She hated Jeremy from the bottom of her heart. She looked at Olivia's lifeless body and she shook her but she wouldn't wake up.

No one was helping her to send Ariana to the hospital. She wondered how cruel they could be. Some had even returned to the party like nothing happened.

"Let me help," she heard someone say.

Looking up she saw that it was her mate. She looked at him with her eyes filled with tears. Her mate helped her carry Olivia to the hospital.

.........

"Isn't that too cruel of you Jeremy!" His father asked him angrily.

" Yes it was" the Luna, Jeremy's mother said in anger.

Not that parents too were happy that he was mated to an omega but they didn't expect him to be that cruel to her and reject her the very minute he found her.

Jeremy didn't reply to his father nor to his mother. He and his parents were at his office. It had been two days since after the party and he had refused to see his parents.

How he brutally rejected his mate had been the talk of the town and it was still ongoing. Jeremy never cared but his father does because the council of elders had been angry at how his son behaved. They felt he didn't lay a good example as a good Alpha should do.

"I am not talking to the deaf here, Jeremy!" His father bawled.

Jeremy looked at his father. He didn't like this conversation at all.

"What will you have me do? Give her hope and reject her later? Which will be better?" He asked with a frown.

Not that he too was totally fine at the rejection of his mate. His heart yearned for her and his wolf had nagged him over a million times. He had to explain to his wolf that they needed a strong mate not an omega.

"You should have at least done it after the party. You didn't only humiliate the girl but also her family. That girl got injured because of the pain of rejection, yet you did like you never cared. That's too cruel of you. Is this how you are going to treat your pack members as the future Alpha?" His father asked.

These were exactly the words of the council. They said they don't want a heartless Alpha to rule them.

Jeremy sighed at what his father said. Not that he totally agreed that what he did was wrong but then he needed to please his father.

"Fine, I will apologise to her parents" he said.

That day Jeremy and his friends had gone to Olivia's house. Her parents were so shocked to see them. Oliver, Olivia's twin, was very angry at Jeremy. He also didn't like what happened that day.

He didn't get to see the scene because he was out of town and didn't return a day after the party. He was also angry with his parents because after Olivia returned from the hospital, they didn't take care of her. It was Ariana that came daily to tend to her fever, if not she might have died from it.

Seeing Jeremy and his brothers, he was so angry.

"What do they want?" He shouted in anger. He wasn't even scared that they are Alphas

He intentionally made them hear him. He was damning what they would do to him. His sister had been long bullied by everyone and now he couldn't take it anymore.

Jeremy was an elder to him. He was just nineteen and Jeremy was twenty five but then Oliver didn't care.

"You better shut your mouth," his mother snapped at him.

David and Linda went to meet the three males and offered them drinks. Although they didn't take it, they just placed a check on the small table.

"Well, I'm here to apologise for what happened at the party. I acted irrationally and I didn't think well" Jeremy said calmly.

He just wanted to say what he came for and get out of the hole that was making him feel like he entered into a crab hole. He kept feeling like he would be infected soon.

David looked at the check on the table and smiled at it.

"You don't need to do this Mr Walker. We know she couldn't get a good mate and rejecting her was the right thing to do" David said with a smile.

The three men were not expecting those words to come out of a father of a child. He then began to make them doubt the paternity of the girl.

"Daddy!" Oliver called with a displeased voice.

David sent him a glare and then smiled back at the men.

"Well that's all I want to say" Jeremy said and he stood up.

He didn't even ask to see Olivia to apologise to her.

"Thank you so much Mr Walker" David said grinning from ear to ear.

Immediately he and his wife saw their guests out, they rushed to the cheque that was dropped on the table. Their eyeballs almost popped out when they saw the amount written on it.

"Five million!"

"Five million!"

The two chorused with a loud astonished voice. Never have they been given this kind of money before. They didn't even think that in their entire life, they've spent such money.
