Massimo’s POV.

“…Sir please, you’ll have to understand me, I…” I stuttered halfway as I tried to explain things through before he ended the phone call. It was so embarrassing that someone of my caliber and status would be treated in such a humiliating manner, but it wasn’t the case at all, the person who was behind it was someone twice as powerful as I was and I had nothing to do about it.

“Did he cut the call?” Isabel asked, as she stood to her feet and stared at me. Her eyes were wide open and glued to mine. I wasn’t sure the atmosphere demanded women at the time so I sent for Romeo immediately.

“Hey, call Romeo, tell him I demand his presence here, and do that now!” I said in my usual loud tone to one of the manservant’s who passed the living room down to the other side of the corridor.

“Yes sir,” he replied as he bowed and ran out of the building.

“Hey, what’s good? Brother talk to me, is everything alright? What did the baron say?” Nesa asked but I wasn’t interested in their

Massimo’s POV. Rome and I walked into the station and just as we entered, I discovered the inspector with a phone in his hands wrapped in a transparent envelope. ‘That’s it boss,’ Rome whispered as we both had our eyes on the piece in his hands. The inspector who had a slight argument with me at the crime scene smiled and kept a close stare at Rome and I as we walked close to him and this time stood before the rest of the officers there. I was greeted but never took those seriously, all that mattered to me was making sure that the mobile phone in his hands didn’t last long, no matter what it took. “Hmm, I can see you’re so interested in the object in my hands, aren’t you?” “Inspector, we received a call to come down here, why?” I said, staring at him. My hands collided while I turned to Rome and whispered. “Told you we should have gunned him down when we had the chance,” “Hmm, well, the problem here isn’t about the phone I’m holding in my hands, is it? Something within tells me

Isabel’s POV. I waited in the living room for Massi to get back home later that day. While I walked round the living room in panic, I prayed for Ana’s safety. I hoped she came back home from wherever she went that day because her dad wasn’t going to take it lightly. It was a clear agreement between the Russian Pratva and The Cosa Nostra and now we had already broken a part of our bargain to the Russian Pratva leader.I heard the door open and a figure walk into the living room, my heart raced and I turned to see who it was, hoping it turned out to be Ana since I first saw the hair of a lady, but it was Vanessa, my elder sister. She looked straight at me and discovered how weary I was at the time so ran to me. “Sister, what is happening to you, I told you we’ll get over this and it wouldn’t take longer than you think, the girl would be found, trust me, everything would be alright,” Her voice shrill and her expression softened around the corner. My hands were knocked to part of the tr

Vanessa's POV. He was so lucky I shot at the roof right away, else he would have been a dead man. I wondered what even gave him such an aura to come up against me in such a manner. Everything about me changed the moment he took that second step and I felt maybe I would have the blood of the Russian don in my hands. I wasn’t even trying to let go as my sister Isa kept on pleading while I felt raged. I frowned and kept a mean look at him while I pointed the gun straight to his forehead now. “Wait a minute, are you even serious right now? what the hell is wrong with you?!” he yelled and gestured with his hands spread across. “You shouldn’t have doubted me Nikolei, maybe next time you’ll be able to adhere to simple instructions, don’t underestimate the words of a broken girl,” I replied and bit my lips. It was indeed so frustrating at the moment and I stood in fear as I watched him stare back at me. I wasn’t ready to go into a gun battle with him though, he was so experienced and would

Ana’s POV. I was hungry and never knew I would even be here for as long as this. I was tied still, to the chair and watched the men as they brought in a box which was covered with a black polythene. I wondered what they would be using that for anyway. They all stared at me from time to time to monitor my moves even as I sat in chains and tied up. ‘What the hell could these men be up to and why are they staring at me like that?’ I muttered as I watched them bring out some lumps of meat from another bag and one of them began cutting it into pieces. I was marveled at first but not till I saw the first men unwrap a fresh corpse and begin to chop off parts of her body. It was a female and I guess she was once kept on this same chair and interrogated like me. I felt tense and goosebumps were all over my body. My eyes widened and I saw the contraction in my nerves as I asked one of the men who was walking down the corner. “Excuse me, please, don’t tell me that’s going to be my fate,” I as

Massimo’s POV. It was so disheartening that she wasn’t still found. At least the kidnappers should have been able to give a call to ask for a ransom. The money wasn’t going to be a problem at all, all I needed was for her to be in good health. I was in the room with her elder brother, Nikolai, and we both needed to have a personal man-to-man discussion concerning this. Nothing was as fruitful as two men with able guards and resources, teaming up to achieve a goal such as this. With him by my side I believed we would find Ana and bring her back home, maybe without a scratch. I tried to take a drink from the champagne bottle and all of a sudden Nik pulled out the drink and poured it into my cup. “I was only trying to make you understand that I needed this drink more than you do, but at the same time, I’ll have to make sure you get this first before me. You’re the man of the house, Massimo,” Nik said as he poured and smiled. I was astonished at how he did that even without me tenderin

Ana’s POV. I was so frustrated at the blood all over the room. This was a separate place Logan and the other man, whom he referred to as Egar, took me to. They intended to have me sold out to the merchants band that was an info I trapped while Logan was on call. But since he didn’t strike a clear bargain with them, it was crystal clear that they’ll have to turn the direction of the calls back to Massimo or my dad. Logan walked towards me while I sat on the stool with my hands handcuffed behind. His face looked fierce and his brows furrowed. I could see the tension in the air as he moved to and fro, trying to reach Massimo who at the moment wasn’t on the line. The whole thing got him pissed and more frustrated that he yelled in the air. “Pick up the damn phone, you, bastard!!” He gestured with both hands raised. He looked sweaty at this point before turning to me again as I whispered. “You’ve got to calm down, my husband isn’t always on the phone, maybe you’ll call back later and s

Ana’s POV. I woke up in the room and realized Isabel and Vanessa were already there. I had no clue how I got to that point. The last thing I recalled I saw was the bike Isabel rode into the street and asked me to hop in. My face was pale and I realized I had lost some amount of blood. It was so disheartening that even Vanessa, who was turning out to be my chronic enemy, was involved in the cleaning. I saw her cleaning the floor before I turned to see Isabel stare at me.“She’s awake!” She said, her face showing excitement and her hands lifted to the air as she moved towards me. “I’m so glad you’re awake, like, how the hell did you just collapse behind me on the Bike?!” She asked. Her hands placed on her waist and her eyes showcased some level of shock. “What are you talking about? I didn’t collapse, I was behind the bike with you while you rode through the street. ” “Hmm, ask Vanessa, immediately I entered the gate and stopped at the door, you just fell off the bike and almost hit

Ana’s POV. The door to the room was wide open? Like a thief ran into it and it made me shiver in fear. My hands raised half way in shock while my mouth was left wide open. I couldn’t believe it was the same person and now he’s in the USA. “Where is she?!“ He exclaimed as he turned down to the other corner of the room like he had no clue I was lying right in front of him. I had my brows furrowed and my head bent halfway. I was astonished when I saw him. my elder brother; Nikolei. “My baby sister,” He expressed regret and I could see the wrinkles down the sides of his mouth as he walked quickly and gave me a hug.“Sister, I hope you’re safe?” He asked, his eyes rolling over my face and his hands rubbing through my shoulders while his mouth was still half way opened. His expression showcased fear and at the same time, accomplishment. “Brother, I didn’t know you’d come,” I replied, as I hugged back and watched the maiden who was attending to me right then, as she bent with her hands b

Ana’s POV. I was trying to catch a glimpse of what he was actually trying to do as he raised my legs up. I tried as much as possible to bear the pain from the doggy sex as he lashed so hard.“Come on, what’s happening? You’re not even moaning at all, this ain’t the real you, Ana, something’s wrong somewhere.” “Massimo, you’re the one on me and just take a look at the way you raised my legs. I’m so uncomfortable and from the way I see it, I don’t think you’re ready to reach orgasm anyway.” I replied. My face stern as I laid on the bed and backed him. I felt so frustrated that I was having unprotected sex with him and all he could do was complain that I wasn’t moaning? If he needed to hear a moan maybe he could go on a porn site and have himself full of it. I tried to relax myself and calm my nerves. Nothing more mattered to me than his ejaculation. He exhaled and sighed before spreading my legs angrily. His hands fastened on my left leg as I felt him thrust. He continued and this t

Massimo’s POV. I was in front of the mirror, adjusting my tie as I tried to shake off the feeling of unease that had been lingering inside me. The atmosphere was tense, and I knew I was in for a rough ride soon. But I wasn't one to back down from a challenge. I took a deep breath and focused on getting ready for the day ahead.Just as I was finishing up, Marco walked into my room. His presence was a welcome distraction from the thoughts that had been plaguing me. "Hey, boss," he said, his voice casual. I nodded, and he continued, "I just talked to Anastasya. She's doing well."My interest piqued, I turned to him. "How's your relationship with her been?" I asked, genuinely curious. Marco's expression was neutral, but I could sense a hint of tension beneath the surface. "It's okay," he replied. I wasn't convinced. Marco's tone seemed off, and I couldn't help but wonder what was really going on between him and Anastasya. I nodded, trying to appear nonchalant, but my mind was racing wit

Massimo’s POV I stood on my balcony, sipping my tea and gazing out at the city below. The sun was setting, casting a warm orange glow over the buildings. I felt a sense of calm over me as I breathed in the evening air. Just as I was getting lost in thought, Rome walked and stood beside me."The flowers are ready," he said, his voice low and serious. I nodded, knowing exactly what he was talking about. Those flowers weren't ordinary flowers. They were a part of my business, a means I used to traffic drugs around the country. I didn't have a retail outlet, but a network of people who helped us move our product.I took one last sip of my tea and set the cup down. "I'll be downstairs with them in a minute," I told Rome. He nodded and turned to leave, but not before I caught a glimpse of a smile on his face.As he walked away, I muttered to myself, thinking about all the things I'd been through. The struggles, the fights, the losses. But I'd always come out on top.I built this busines

Massimo’s POV. My eyes scanned the surroundings, and they landed on Vanesa and Marco standing by the garage. My gaze locked onto Vanesa's, and I could see the mix of emotions on her face. But as I took in the scene. The bruise on Marco's cheekbone was a stark reminder of the incident that had taken place. I walked towards them, my strides long and purposeful. Vanesa's face lit up with joy, and she ran towards me, throwing her arms around me in a tight hug. "Massimo!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with emotion. I hugged her back, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. Marco approached us, and we shook hands, his eyes acknowledging the tension between us.As I held Vanesa, I glanced over her shoulder and saw my Ana standing at the door of the building, a smile spreading across her face. "Ana?" I said. My eyes never left my wife's. Vanesa chuckled and stepped aside, allowing my wife to run towards me. She jumped into my arms, and I caught her, spinning her around in a circle. Tear

Vanesa’s POV. I couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt and regret that had been weighing me down since I hit Marco. My pride was swollen, and I didn't want to swallow it. Being so arrogant was my thing though, and I felt maybe that day, it would have to come to an end. I walked around the premises, trying to clear my head, but my feet seemed to have a mind of their own. Before I knew it, I found myself standing in front of the garage, where I knew Marco often took a seat to reminisce.I spotted him sitting on a bench, a cigarette dangling from his fingers. I approached him quietly and my face twisted in a mixture of emotions. I couldn’t walk to him because I felt so guilty and couldn’t do anything at all. All that mattered as I stood behind him was asking for his forgiveness right away and letting down my ego. I was astonished as he asked, "What do you want?" without even turning around.I was taken aback, surprised that he hadn't noticed me standing there. I walked around to his s

Isabel's POVI walked into the room, Vanesa following closely behind. The Governor's visit still lingered in my mind, and I could sense Vanesa's anxiety. As soon as we were alone, I turned to her and realized she followed behind."Isabel, what was that all about? Why did the Governor think he'd get away with talking to you like that?" She asked, trying to keep my tone in check.I sighed, looking away. "I don't know, Vanesa, why would you be acting this way? You aren’t supposed to hold me accountable because I just saved us. Just chill, okay? There's nothing we can do about it right now."She frowned, not satisfied with my response. "Chill? You want me to chill? He's threatening our family, Isa. He's trying to manipulate Massimo, and you're just going to roll over?"I sighed, my eyes flashing with frustration. "I'm just saying, Nesa, we can't do anything right now. We have to wait and see how Massimo handles it."I studied her expression, trying to read between the lines. Was she scar

Massimo's POVVodka and I stepped into the luxurious train, the serenity of the interior pricked my interest. The soft hum of the engine and the plush seats created a nice atmosphere, perfect for our discussion. As we sat, he turned to me, his expression serious. "So, Massimo, tell me more about Baize. What makes you think you can take him down even when he’s got the lead?"I leaned back in my seat, recalling the conversation. "I wanted to run for Governor in the next elections, so I went to him for counseling. But he refused to support me unless I gave him a third of my company and...my sister, Vanesa, in marriage."Vodka's eyes widened. "That's serious, Massimo. He's not just asking for business; he's asking for your family's loyalty."I nodded, my jaw clenched. "That's why I consider him an enemy. He's playing games, Vodka, and I won't let him win."I was so hurt. I felt the anger and rage in me erupt but I sat and tried to calm my nerves. The rumble of the train got my attention a

Massimo's POVI stared at my phone, my eyes were fixed on the picture that made my blood boil."Damn!" I shouted, I hit my fist on the table as I stumbled on the picture which displayed on my phone. It felt so surprising to see the Governor of the state, shaking hands with my sister Isabel.‘What was he playing at?’ I muttered, feeling a pang of rage. I felt so bad about it and thought maybe I should leave that damn place as soon as possible because it was looking so obvious that he’s going to deal with them pretty soon. The picture he took with her sounded like a warning and the extent he could go to prove himself to me. Vodka walked in with his dusty boots from the farm. "What's going on, Massimo?" he asked, noticing my frustration.I hesitated as I kept a longing stare at the phone after a quick glance at his direction, but Vodka's curious eyes made me share. "Look at this," I said, handing my phone over to him. His smile faded as he saw the picture. "Who is this guy?" he asked.

Ana’s POV. I was amazed to see the governor of the state in the premises. He hadn’t been there even once. I felt so honored to welcome him though. My eyes flashed around to grace the awesome view of the tinted SUVs which were all lined up at the garage. I stumbled at the security of the governor who was all dressed in their black top and trousers. Some were in corporate attires, their suits were implanted with luxury and their faces looked so fierce and tightened. The manpower in the premises belonging to Massimo was no match, compared to what I saw. I stood, and watched as he walked down to me. His stomach made me smile. ‘Ridiculous, chubby man,’ I mumbled. “Ahh, I think it’s a pleasure to meet with the most beautiful lady in the city,’ he eyes widened as he brought forth his hands to give me a hand shake. “Good afternoon, your excellency,” I said, my face clustering with smiles. I felt my heart race and I was uneased. It could be a nightmare or a blessing. “Of course, it is, I
